Yung dog ko 7yrs old na. Last december, I had him undergo a complete check up at a veterinary clinic who I really trust, for the purpose na mapa dental proph ko sana sya. He was cleared, was going to use gas anesthesia as the vet said in case of complications due to his age, this was easier to resolve. Sobrang takot ko magrisk, because we all know dental proph at his age is not ideal anymore dahil sa risks ng anesthesia. Pero I thought that time kung hindi ko gagawin, it’ll only get worse.

Ang kaso, bini-BP sya ng vet before the procedure, pero hindi bumababa blood pressure nya. Hahaha. Nakakatawa na cute na ewan. We all knew he was fine, even the vet natatawa at inaasar yung dog ko kasi his tests are okay. Sabi niya ninenerbyos raw siguro talaga kasi nasa clinic. We came back thrice and tried, pero natatakot talaga siguro sya. The vet won’t risk going through with the procedure kung ganon kataas bp nya. I’m planning to try again on December, pero medyo 70/30 ako na hindi na kasi most likely ganon lang din uli mangyayare. Will still proceed with his routine checkup though.

Sa mga pet owners po na hindi na nakapag dental proph yung pets? Ano na lang po yung last resort nyo? I brush his teeth using a silicone brush and Arm & Hammer enzymatic toothpaste.

EDIT: Triny ko sya ipa-dental proph dahil he has bad breath na and his molars are not looking good anymore :(

Baka may pwedeng makatulong dito. Last Sunday kasi may naabutan kaming nanghuhuli ng mga stray dogs sa isang subdivision sa Tanza, Cavite. Sabi ng isa sa mga nanghuhuli don ikukulong lang din daw sa brgy habang wala pang kumukuhang may-ari. May mga nagrereklamo na raw kasi. Duda kami na ikukulong lang yun don tsaka nababother rin ako kasi yung ibang pinapakain naming stray dogs nawala na dun sa area (sa tapat ng bahay namin kami nagpapakain). Tingin namin nahuli sila. Ngayon, nag-inquire ako sa isang shelter na around Tanza area pero full cap na raw sila. Baka may alam kayong iba pang shelter around or near Tanza area.

I saw this post in FB and I was moved to tears.

Yung aso po namin ay nakipagengage sa emergency mating huhu. Ang catch is alam naming di niya na kaya ang second pregnancy. Any advice po if ano po pede naming gawin. Pero balak namin pumunta na ng vet agad. Baka may mas early tips lang po kayo sa expected po na dapat gawin? Thanks in advance po.

Nakita ko lang ulit ‘yung post ko dito sa sub 285 days ago. Dati, kapag nasa labas kami ng bahay, masaya na siya na makapag-nap sa stroller. Ngayun, lagi na niya gusto lumipat sa lap ko as in siya mismo ‘yung pupunta galing stroller, tapos ganun na siya magna-nap. 😅 Pero okay lang, para akong may stuffed toy kasi super well behaved siya palagi lalo na kapag namamasyal kami. 🥰

We have 20 rescued dogs and 3 cats. We have stopped rescuing for a long time since we can't afford it anymore. It's just me and my sister together on this.

Recently, I had to resign from my full-time job as it has been affecting me physically, mentally, and emotionally (my boss is from another country; I'm a VA, and every day pinapahiya kami ng mga colleagues ko sa meeting, overworked malala, and underpaid. Was able to push through for a long time but di na talaga kinaya recenty as I only have 2 hours of sleep everyday because of work anxiety).

Wasn't able to have savings because of medical emergencies for our rescues who even came before these 23 furbabies. We battled distemper, ear surgeries (multiple and for many dogs), and others. We have many reactive rescues din so ang daming injuries and accidents, even us, ourselves.

My sister just started getting a job so hindi pa kalakihan sahod and sya naghahandle now ng lahat while I'm applying for new jobs (no luck yet).

This week, we're trying hard to have food for us and our rescues and medyo naiiyak with all the struggles. I know we can make it through. It's just that minsan, nakakapanghina ng loob. Walang support from government ang independent rescuers.

If you are a rescuer, how do you keep going?

How do you keep doing what you do despite the challenges, the resources and energy needed... especially if mag-isa lang kayo or konti lang kayo?

Any suggestion for dog stroller? I dont want sana po yung mga bulky ones. The smaller, the better.

My dog is a 3kg chihuahua so maliit and magaan lang po, no plans of adding another dog.

Sorry If I'm asking this question here as this is the only subreddit post that I can think of especially when it comes to doggos. Asking lang if this is Gingivitis? If yes, is this severe na ba? I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to this so please help me out before I bring my best doggo sa vet.

I noticed lang kase these past few days na medyo nakangiwi siya especially when barking so ayun sinilip ko gums niya and then eto nakita ko. Medyo nagpapanic lang ako baka kase severe na siya hindi lang namin alam. We know na need dalhin sa vet to further determine ano 'to pero as of now I just want to ask you guys baka may nakakaalam sainyo. Thanks for answering!!
