Hi all, I recently took the plunge into offline, am hooked hard on playing p8. Returning player and HC exclusively.

About 2 months of farming, I've gotten lucky enough to make my first Enigma, but I'm asking myself what should I actually use it on?

I've got a 92 Bowlock, and a 87 Demon Summoner... Very budget gear on both. I'm basically wondering what's the safest class to blast on p8 HC? To utilize the Enigma to its fullest? It's been probably 10+ years since I've played Enigma anything. I'm leaning against using it on the Bowlock, he's very squishy, and I don't need Enigma to farm cows. I'm guessing the obvious answer is Hammerdin, which I despise playing. I'm also worried since I haven't played Enigma or teleport anything in such a long time that I'll RIP simply due to bad teleporting.

TLDR: for solo HC, what's your pick for chill and safe class to invest in with your first Enigma?

Offline PS5 hardcore, started fresh a month ago. Have a decently equipped Horker for Trav and Orb/Blizz sorc for TZ Andy. One elusive Gul away from a Mosaic Sin for TZ/Herald farming. No Anni or Torches yet and I'm hoping to avoid having to build a Smiter for that purpose.

Had an ES Warlock last patch and really disliked the gameplay. Looking for a new character to farm for and use for ubers and the odd keys/statues etc. Have my eye on Summoner lock, and Mirrored Blades (both normal melee/Death or Bowlock). Blood boil also looks fun. I played fire and apocalypse lock last patch and found the casting and overall play quite slow and unsatisfying.

Which should I go for? Was even thinking Summon Necro but assuming Summon lock is much more fun.

Hi. I've been trying to force the game to use its regular ui but it keeps automatically switching to controller ui. I've tried to use "-forcedesktop" in the steam launch setting but it doesn't seem to do anything. I play on steam in legacy mode and really want the lagacy ui to stay while im playing.

So I had a dream that I finally found my offline shako. So I totally won’t be disappointed when I get to play tonight right?

Is there any point to invest a skill point into Inner Sight when using Faith?

Faith has ITD on it and Inner Sight lessens a targets defense by a certain number.

Why lower it, when its ignored anyway?

It can be handy as it illuminates the enemies but I'm mainly using Strafe and Guided Arrow. There's no escape from my arrows.

Or am I missing a hidden mechanic of Inner Sight?

da ich sehr viele Gegenstände doppelt und dreifach besitze und es sehr schwer ist Xbox Spieler fürs Tauschen zu finden versuche ich es hier.

Meine Charaktere sind soweit komplett ausgerüstet.

Ich besitze Fackeln (alle Charaktere außer Warlock aktuell), Uniques, Bases für Sockelungen, Setgegenstände, Charms, craftet Items etc. Und das in sehr häufiger Ausführung zum Abgeben an andere Spieler.

Ich möchte gerne Spielern helfen, die auf der Suche nach gewissen Gegenständen sind.

Was ich brauche? Ich bin nur auf der Suche nach perfekten Edelsteinen, Runen, Schlüsseln und Statuen.

Gerne können wir auch gemeinsam spielen. Aber ich bin meistens ohne Mikrofon unterwegs.

Wenn jemand Interesse hat gerne melden. Schreibt mir einfach was ihr braucht und was ihr zum tauschen habt.

Alright guys, so the past couple days RNGsus blessed me with a couple HRS. I found an Ohm, Lo, and Sur to add to the collection.

I currently have a couple chars that have decent gear in there 80s and 90s. I’ve already made an Enigma, 5 Bo CTA, Infinity, Fort, and Grief so I have the staples for most classes made already.

Long story short I’m torn between making a Pride and respecting my Javazon to a bowzon or making a Phoenix for the QOL for her and my other chars.

My 89 javazon upon respec would be using wind force and other staples and all the +dam charms I’ve found. It would be enough to fill her Inv. I know she’s not optimal but one of the funnest classes to play imo.

Other notable chars include a lvl 86 ES Nova Sorc, a lvl 83 Blizzard sorc, a lvl 98 Smite Paladin, a lvl 96 ES Lock, and the mentioned Javazon. They all have pretty solid gear but I can give more info.

I do also have torches for every class and an Anni.

One other thing to note is that this is also hardcore.

Do you have any recommendations on which char to deck out and with what dank runeword? Open to other options as well.

Update: thanks for the thought provoking and kind words guys! After some thought and some fuck it I decided to go ahead and roll a phoenix. It rolled pretty decent. I suck at Reddit so I’m unsure if it’s possible / how to add a pic on here for an update. It did roll %397 ED though so that’s pretty dank

I’ve played D2 and D2R with several mods. I can perfectly understand that such features as large inventory or separate charm inventory affect the game balance and need to be thoroughly designed. But what about QoL-features? Large stash – so you don’t have to create tons of mules every season. A way to control mercs and summons w/o telestomping.

What about balance changes that won’t even affect the current meta? Yeah I know they’ve changed several low-level uniques in a way that most players won’t even notice. But maybe rebalance sets so not only Tal’s are actually useful (and some low-level sets – somewhat useful)? Upgrade some uniques which are anyway used only while leveling up? Finally make more necro, druid and assa build actually viable?

I’ve mentioned several times the Blizzless mod (and the private server running it) in previous posts. Just some ideas that I’ve seen tons of times on Reddit that are already implemented there:

• Tyrael’s might with +1 to teleport,
• Act 5 Merc can wield axes,
• Item levels are shown in the item name – like Crystal Sword (40) – so you always know how many sockets Larzuk will slap on it,
• Separate buttons to control merc and summons,

And a bunch of nice balance changes just to make the meta more diverse.

There's lots of changes in PD2 which people love as I see - watched many streamer playing it. Why not just take the best ideas?

One streamer from the Blizzless dev team mentioned yesterday that for the new season start they’re actually implementing offline trade (and they already have a separate trade site which is in my opinion better than Traderie). POE2 already understood what I’m talking about – you can make a trade even if the person is offline.
Why can a bunch of unpaid dudes implement a feature that the players of official Bnet server can only dream of? :D

P.S.: I’m starting a new season on Blizzless today 08:00 PDT / 11:00 EDT / 17:00 CEST in case somebody wants to try it out too.

To be clear, I’m not on this mod's dev team, just a player who enjoys the modded game while still playing on Bnet.

I started as Warlock because I wanted something different and to be able to wreck most monsters in Hell out of the gate. I was told it would be a lot slower and there have been a few times in the last few days that I felt really disheartened.

Waheed has been out here dying non-stop, but I found a non-eth Andariel's Visage two nights ago with 9% LL. I have the best armor I've found in 24 years for his Fortitude waiting in the stash. It's a near max roll, ethereal Sacred armor. Took that straight to Larzuk.

I was already stoked to have found a 14% ED Mage Plate right outside of the Countess' tower just after entering Hell. It was either a goatman or a fallen that dropped it. Didn't want to risk it, so I took that to Larzuk as well.

I hopped on after getting everything I needed done today and was going to head straight to Lower Kurast, but saw that Chaos Sanctuary was Terrorized. I was going to use my tele staff to head straight to the sanctuary, but a group of Urdars clogged the path and I didn't want to lose exp, so I burned them down, got swarmed and some ghosts rolled in from the lower right, so I thought I'd go ahead and clear and they dropped me a Jah rune. What an amazing feeling and relief. I'd hit the Ber I needed from Lower Kurast not long after I fished for a decent layout, so this moment was just elation and relief.

To add to the awesome feeling, I hit a really high roll and couldn't be happier. It's time to FARM, BOIZ! Just had to share this moment as it means a lot to me. I'm finally going for the Holy Grail after 24 years of playing off and on. I've always played ladder so that I could engage in the economy, so this is by far the best character and most progress I've ever made solo.

Uniques I've hit so far:

A 2 os, non-eth Crown of Ages, a mid roll pair of Shadow Dancers, a 6% LL, 191% ED, Eth Titan's Revenge, non eth Thunderstroke, Azurewrath, the Andariel's Visage, a well-rolled Ars Tor'Baalos (thinking about switching to Bloodboil when I hit a fire sunder) and a 5/4 lightning facet.

Socketed bases, Runes/Runewords/Sunders:

Bases: The 14% ED Mageplate, Eth Sacred Armor, eth Archon Plate, 4 OS eth Vortex Shield with 30 all res, 4 OS non-eth Giant Thresher (lucked out in the cube after 5 or so attempts on other Giant Threshers), eth Colossus Voulge, eth Great Poleaxe, 15% ed 6 os Matriarchal Spear and a 5 os Crystal Sword.

Runes: 1x Jah, 1x Ber, 1x Sur, 1x Ohm, 1x Ist, 3x Gul and a handful of other mid runes.

Runewords: 4 OS Flail, which I'm rocking Heart of the Oak in. 35% FCR Spirit Monarch that I'm still using as well. The 14% ED Mageplate is now my Enigma and I'm so EFFIN HYPED.

Got these on my last Andy run of the night. Not GG but better than what I'm using si good find for SP.

Played forever and did a hc necro online ages ago but died at 89 now on Xbox decided to go assassin. Any advice of when I should advance to hell? I messed up and wasted both socket quests so far 😂.

And before reacting negatively halfway or in the beginning reading, please read everything I’m doing this not just for my better enjoyment of this game and the mod but for other ppl too and I can’t just sit around and hope and wait for someone to do it

The Diablo II 3d mod I had AI make a launcher for it builds everything installs everything Diablo II 3d needs to work so it runs longer then a minute without crashing because if u download what’s on GitHub that’s what happens.Unless you build it yourself in VS and bazel which I don’t have the experience or the technical knowledge for that so I this ai coding workspace on my pc to do it for me (btw I backed up all my data and factory reset my pc before working on this mod)

When you first load into the game and you press F12, it brings you into the 3-D environment, but you have to use your click wheel on your mouse to pan on your camera.
So what I did is that I made it to where when you click around, depending on where you’re trying to turn to the camera is going to follow you in that direction and is going to turn with you if that makes sense I’m probably gonna be really horrible at explaining this,

but it just makes the overall experience a lot better because I don’t have to use the mouse wheel which is very cumbersome to do everytime u want to do every little pan around the screen 😂😂.
Not only that I have also added WASD keyboard support now.
I know that there is a Diablo two 3D VR mod that has this function, but it does not operate the same way that I have it functioning here

this is in the third person view and not the first person view like in the D2 are 3DVR mod.
Not only that but when you’re moving forward with W, you can press keys A or D to pan the camera left or right as you’re moving forward as well, so it feels very fluid with the camera turning in the direction you want to go.
I think I’m explaining that right

I also added the function when you press s it does a 180 so that you can look behind you and then run the other direction if you start losing health too bad and you’re trying to run away instead of having to pan in a 180 yourself.

it’s still a work in progress now I’m working on hit box detection because you have to click at their feet in the 3D mod to get your hits to register.

so I’m also working on hit boxes or hit cylinders for the monsters so that you’re able to actually click on their body or click within the small box around their body so that your hits will actually register.
I am also working on support for when you’re in groups of mobs that it will target correctly and work on “friendlies” instead of when you click your summons by accident it doesn’t “grab” or “pick” them and prevent u from freely selecting which mob in the group you want to fight. And when your in a group of monsters you can still do this without problems

I know how a lot people feel about ai being used in games and stuff but the progress of what I was able to do in just a few days I’m not going to take 3-4+ years learning to code if not much longer to learn how to do this and by then this tech will surpass most senior engineer developers by then if not some now if I’m with little to no developers experience can do this in a matter of a few days with an agent which can do basically 99% of the work for me except for testing the game and me recording the screen to show what’s it’s doing when I submit videos w it audio feedback to explain to it what’s happening either then that it’s doing all the work and if this is happening now… think about 5 years from now if I start learning to code tn and how far I’ll get in 5yrs vs how far this tech is goin to get in 5yrs I don’t like ai for the most part but if we use this tech to help do things we really want to do and help the community possibly explore the game in different ways then why not? But yea I have 2 YouTube videos on YouTube about this rn I will be making sure I update everyone and

thank you Emmericp for putting ur stuff on GitHub and making this 3d mod a reality and the ability to fork it and edit it I wouldn’t have gotten this far and though the stuff that I’m adding is a working progress combined with this 3-D mod it’s letting me experience the game in a whole new way. It literally feels like a whole new game to me anyways. And anyone else Involved with the d2r 3d mod and d2r vr mod that I pulled stuff from to help make this work
