Infosys joining on 12 Nov, waiting for Deloitte and EY. What should I do?

Hey everyone, need some genuine advice because I’m a bit confused about what to do next.

I have around 5–5.5 years of experience in Cloud/DevOps and currently have an offer from Infosys for 19 LPA. After excluding the performance bonus and other components, it comes to around 14.02 LPA. My joining is on 12 November in Noida.

At the same time, I’m interviewing with Deloitte and EY.

For Deloitte, I’ve completed two rounds, and my second round was today. After my first round, they took around 15 days to schedule the next one. I’ve already told HR that I have another offer and need to make a decision soon, but I have no idea how long they’ll take to share feedback.

For EY, my profile has been shortlisted for a Senior DevOps/Senior Consultant role. HR initially said they would schedule an interview from Monday, but when I followed up, they said it might take another week. I’ve informed them about my Infosys offer and joining date as well, but there’s still no interview scheduled.

The main thing is that I’m currently living in Gurugram and would prefer Gurugram, Noida or nearby locations. EY is in Gurugram, whereas Deloitte is in Hyderabad, so relocation is another thing I need to consider.

I’ve already followed up with both HRs and explained my situation, but I honestly don’t know whether to wait or just go ahead with Infosys.

For people who have recently interviewed with Deloitte or EY:

  • How long does Deloitte usually take to give feedback after the second round? Can the process get completed within 2 weeks?
  • Does EY really take a week just to schedule an interview after shortlisting, or does it depend on the team?
  • Would you join Infosys and continue looking, or wait a little longer for these opportunities?
  • Is it worth considering relocation to Hyderabad for Deloitte when I’m already looking for jobs around NCR?

I don’t want to lose a confirmed offer for something that may or may not happen, but I also don’t want to rush into a decision and regret it later.

Would appreciate advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

Finally built a real-world E2E Healthcare MLOps pipeline. Now I'm making a 30-part series on exactly how we did it

Received a ton of requests to make MLOps videos over the last year. I intentionally held off because I didn't want to teach something I hadn't built in production myself.

Recently, I got the chance to architect and implement an end-to-end MLOps pipeline for a real healthcare device. Now that I’ve been in the jungle, I want to give back to the community and share exactly what worked.

I’m launching a 25-30 part video series covering the practical, hands-on implementation steps we use - from model training infrastructure (AWS ECS/EKS) to evaluation, deployment, and FinOps.

Here is the playlist if you want to follow along:

Is it difficult to switch from Desktop Support to DevOps?

I’m from Ahmedabad, India, and I’m starting my corporate career with my first internship in IT support. My current work mainly involves desktop support, Windows troubleshooting, hardware-related issues, and ticket handling.

I’ve been learning and practicing DevOps for around a year and hold RHCSA, RHCE, and AWS Solutions Architect Associate (SAA) certifications. However, I couldn’t find opportunities in System Administration or Cloud Support, so I decided to accept this internship to gain corporate experience.

My question is: Can I transition into a Junior DevOps or Cloud Engineer role after gaining some corporate experience in desktop support, or will it be difficult to make the switch?

I’m continuing to practice DevOps and work on projects alongside my job. I’d appreciate advice from people who have made a similar career transition, especially in the Indian IT industry.

Need Career Advice: Should I Switch from Frontend to DevOps?

recently graduated from college and joined a company in June as an intern. Within a month, I was converted to a full-time employee, and the company pays me a decent salary.

However, my main concern is that I don't have any meaningful or consistent work. Most of my tasks involve fixing frontend bugs through Jira. Occasionally, I am assigned random tasks handling other unrelated responsibilities.

Although my official working hours are nine hours a day, I have a significant amount of free time because there isn't enough work assigned to me. I've been in this situation for approximately five months.

On the positive side, I've used this free time productively. I've been able to learn AWS and cloud computing from scratch and prepare for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) certification.

However, my primary interest is in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and networking, particularly working with Linux servers, configuring switches and routers, and managing infrastructure.

I've already approached my manager twice to discuss the possibility of transitioning into a DevOps role, but neither attempt has resulted in a concrete opportunity.

At this point, I don't want to spend the next year or two working primarily on frontend bugs without developing the technical skills and experience required for my preferred career path.

My Career Plan for the Next 7–8 Months

My goal is to use the next seven to eight months to develop strong technical fundamentals, gain practical experience, build relevant projects, and prepare myself for better job opportunities in DevOps and cloud engineering.

1.python(have basic experience probably will do cert)
2.aws(already in the process done with clf=02 to do saa)
3.focus on learning in depth kubernetes and docker (already have some basic understanding of it )
4.Linux(would say not much experinence in this )
5.terraform(also no experience)
6.do projects actual job experience (0-2) to get good roles and pay .

so i was wondering whether its realistic to get a devops job with one year of experience .what advise would you give

One self-taught year before my first cloud/DevOps job — what would you study in my place?

Context

  • Spain. Targeting junior backend-with-infra or cloud/platform roles, on-site or hybrid.
  • Background: 2 years, mostly TypeScript/Node backend, some Go.
  • I have Sep 2026 – May 2027 to study full-time mornings (~1,000 h) before job hunting. Once I’m in a 9-to-5 I know I won’t have the energy to study much, so I want to use this year well.

Current plan

  • Linux & networking
  • AWS SAA + Terraform + GitHub Actions (Nov–Jan)
  • Kubernetes (k3s on a homelab), GitOps, observability, deliberately breaking things and writing incident reports (Feb–Mar). CKA optional.
  • Everything applied to one project: a small social network I’m building (TS backend, Postgres, Docker), to be deployed on AWS with IaC and CI/CD.

Questions

  1. What would you cut, and what’s missing?
  2. What do new juniors typically struggle with in their first few months, and how can I prepare for that during my year off?
  3. Anything outside the usual roadmap worth trying to figure out what I actually enjoy?
  4. With 2 years of backend, would you deepen backend (system design, DB performance) or go broad into cloud/DevOps?

If you answer, please mention your role and country — the market here is quite different from other places.

Transition from DBA to Devops

Hi guys I have around 3 years experience in DBA for mongodb and redis. I am based in India. I have recently joined a mnc 6 months ago again as a DBA.

However, here I have exposure to kubernetes as well.

So, thinking of switching into devops in the next few months, since I am now tired of working in shifts.

I am ready to upgrade my skills. Just need to know, is it possible? Or has anyone done that?
