General Discussion Where can I find Carvel ice cream cakes in the Denver area?
I'm looking for Carvel brand ice cream cakes for my mother's 75th bday. Has anyone seen them at a local grocery store recently? King Soopers, Safeway, Walmart, or anywhere else?
I know they're not easy to find out here, so I'd appreciate any confirmed store locations. Thanks!

Question? Drink help!
Hi all! I went to the Iron Mountain Hot Springs and got this frozen cocktail but I can’t remember what it was called. I was trying to find it on the cafe menu so I could recreate it. I would appreciate any leads/help. Thanks!

General Discussion Big Grocery Store?
I travel a lot, and spend several months per year in the Denver area. I have never been able to find a large wide-variety grocery store in the area -- am I missing something? A big King Soopers seems to be about it, and those are OK, but not in the same league as what some other cities have.
My comparison: I was recently in Jungle Jim's in Cincinnati (which was the motivation for this post -- thinking "why can't Denver have something like this?"), but others include Central Market in Dallas/Austin (not particularly nlarge, but a huge selection especially of fresh produce), or even Wegman's in the Northeast (more of a standard grocery store than the other two, but a really comprehensive selection of nice things). If you know Jungle Jim's, you know, but for those that don't know it's about 250,000 square feet, which is almost twice as large as the largest King Soopers in the area (and that's a King Soopers "Marketplace" with space taken up by clothing, etc.).
I've found really nice specialty stores in Denver, and some decent large-ish Asian stores, but no "super-supermarket." It seems weird that a city as large as Denver wouldn't have demand for something like that.
I'm not trying to rag on Denver here. I love it there, which is part of the reason I'm there so much, but why can't Denver have everything? 😄

Question? Celebrating, but with a special diet
We are getting ready to celebrate my wife's cancer anniversary, she is two years into remission. Due to her treatment, she is on a pretty restricted diet. No gluten, no dairy, no fibrous foods, nothing spicy or hot. She loves mexian and mediterranean when she can find something that works. Chicken and salmon are staples for her. Red meat is ok in small quantities. Does anyone have any recommendations for a downtown Denver restaurant that could accommodate those restrictions? We haven't gotten out much in the last couple of years due to her treatment and condition, so would love some suggestions. Thank you!

Recommendations Causal dinner / happy hour
Staying in Westminster and going to the smashing pumpkins show at ball arena tomorrow , looking for fun restaurants that won’t break the bank think 60-80$ for two. We typically just take advantage of happy hour like La diabla , Hapa , Angelo’s, chido molino, spitz , if I could I’d try to get into the Alma Fonda fina happy hour again. Just looking for something fun but casual , last place we tried that was pretty good was noodles by Nina.

Question? Can you Buy frozen dumplings from any restaurants?
I've recently developed an obsession with dumplings and gyoza, and I wanted to know if there are any restaurants out there you know, that would sell me their frozen dumplings. Don't get me wrong, H Mart has some pretty good ones, but I'm wondering if there's a homemade-quality frozen dumpling or premade meal service that offers this. Thank you to anyone who responds! 🥟 😁

Recommendations Bars for Halloween
Hey! I tried to post to r/denver but it got deleted so I’ll try here!
I Recently moved from Arizona and always love going out for Halloween! I’ve been out once since moving here and the bars I went to weren’t super lively, which is similar to what I’ve heard from Denver people about the nightlife in general.
Wondering if there’s any good clubs, bars, dives that are having a fun event or are just a fun vibe to go out to on Halloween, especially since it’s a Saturday! I’m mid 20s and looking for an area with that sort of age range, into clubs/pop/EDM type stuff. TYIA

Question? Homemade Turkish delight good enough to betray my family?
Can anyone recommend any place that sells homemade Turkish delight I mean I would love it if it's good enough to betray my family. But I'll settle for just homemade.
Editing this to add I've had Turkish delight from Amazon and similar places. You know the boxed stuff that's made in giant factories. And I loved it. So yeah I don't know what everyone's on about not liking it.

Restaurant Reviews Great meal at Sheep
Enjoyed a great meal and experience at the Sheep pop up at the Clayton Hotel. Food was excellent - the bread with the burrata was the standout. Service was personable but extremely well done - far less stuffy than other restaurants of this caliber and the room is lively with a fun energy. Not sure how much longer this is going to be open but worth checking out if you can!

Very sad to hear that the owner’s health is not allowing her to continue running the bakery. Also find it odd that yuan wonton didn’t share anything about it and they don’t follow each other on ig.

Question? Shake Shack or In N Out?
I have only had In N Out and I want to try Shake Shack. I am interested and curious. Never had it. What to order?
After airport pickup, our group stops by the Lakewood location late night because it's cheap, cheerful and amazing before the 2 hour drive west on I 70. Each person has their order and one person pays. I will pick up another order for the road.

Visiting Dinner Recs for North Metro (Boulder to LoHi)
Looking for recommendations for a nice sit down dinner ( $50 per entree max) with visiting friends in the northwest metro! If I had to put some boundaries on it, I’d say west of i25, Boulder, Arvada, Tennyson St, LoHi, up to as far north as Lafayette. So really anything in the US36 corridor is fair game. I’m a far SE metro area resident, so appreciate any help here as this area isn’t really my forte :)
Friends can’t have gluten/soy and don’t want seafood, so they’ve requested no Asian and Italian unless strongly advertised to be able to accommodate.
Latin American, Steakhouses, Modern/Classic American, GF Pizza, Brewery/Pub with good food, etc would be fine. I’d love to give them a fun Colorado vibe they can’t get back home in the rural south

Restaurant Reviews Go to Neo Latin Cuisine ASAP
This is the best thing that has happened to Colfax since the beginning of time.
I can't type too much as I'm enjoying this MIND BLOWING breakfast burrito but I'm gonna say that I randomly stumbled upon it 2 nights ago and had the best tacos in my life.
I was so mind blown that I ranked this spot higher than Alma Fonda Fina on beli.
RIDICULOUSLY good.
Now back to that badass buritto
UPD: finally done with it. the place has opened about 3 weeks ago, their menus are all wrong (showing 14.99 prices when in reality they are 17.99, and I when I asked if it's just 2 tacos for 15, they said to ignore the menu and it is actually 3 tacos), they have a tiny counter side seats that could accommodate 7-8 people at a time, everyone is extremely nice and the owner Neo is the sweetest guy I've met. He was literally telling me how he is thinking of making this cool desert using sweet potatoes and plantains but wasn't sure about the process yet and was trying to brainstorm it with me lol.
I'm a huge foodie person, this place is the most fun "mess" I've been to for a while and the food is stupid good.

Events Birthday dinner for 10 people close to north denver?
hi all, searching for a good spot for a birthday dinner for 10 people, preferably in north denver / im in sunnyside. here are my ideal criteria, and if we can’t hit them all that’s okay.
- good ambience, i want it to feel nice but doesn’t need to be Michelin level nice
- not incredibly expensive, ideally 20-40 a person (before drinks)
- flexible on cuisine. sushi, Indian, new american, whatever.
- preferably north denver but open to 15-20 away
thank you!

General Discussion Go give china BBQ on 92nd and Federal a try
The laziji was good. I think its called "spicy crispy chicken" or something. Excellent balance of a little numbing but nothing truly "hot hot" just nice and spicy. Char siu was pretty good. Dip the chicken in the hoisin for the char siu.

Been living close by to tamale kitchen for about a year and decided to finally try it. Wow, easily the worst tamales I’ve ever had. Grossly bland…. Like you’re just chewing flavorless mush. Couldn’t even finish 2 of the 6 I got abs appetite ruined. Total waste of money, who tf is keeping this place in business!?

Looking for a great, basic deli and bakery in Denver proper. Comparable to places like the Avon Bakery & Deli up in Avon, or Blue Moon Bakery in Dillon…
