Took these today, 10/27/2026. Not my childhood mall - unfortunately, only came here for the first time back in July or so. Felt like a funeral.

Also, yes, the bathroom corridor in pic 7 was really that yellow.

Story Pasadena Town Square Mall in Pasadena Texas

Super old mall I used to go to as a kid. Pretty weird it seems to be still open, but partially abandoned, which makes me confused if I should post it here or not? the big stores are completely abandoned. There's I think only one or two small stores left inside. Mostly posting this here as Pasadena maybe(?) Is planning on knocking it down as adjacent buildings have begun to be destroyed. I want to go inside one day (the abandoned parts) but I'm afraid to do so tbh.

I wish it had stayed as cool as it had been years ago. I bought Veggietales DVDs from this Bible store I am unable to remember the name of. Overall was a cool mall, that has lost it's charm over the years due to lack of customers and funding. The waterfall in the middle was removed and covered up years ago after being left drained for ages. I remember meeting Santa and taking photos with the Easter Bunny in that part too...

I remember it mostly before they rebranded, so I used the old name lol. It's called Macroplaza mall now. This was where my mom got her first job, a family friend worked for years, and I walked around as a kid. I really do miss what it used to be.

Photos Sears (originally The Popular) at the Sunland Park Mall (now The Shoppes at Solana) in El Paso Texas (The Popular August 31st of 1988 - November 6th of 1995, Sears August 9th of 1996 - January 20th of 2019)

Anyone have any pictures of this anchor store from when it was occupied by The Popular ?

Here we have another Sears in El Paso that opened on August 9th of 1996, at the Sunland Park Mall that opened on August 31st of 1988, that was originally occupied by The Popular Dry Goods Company. Unlike the Cielo Vista Mall store that is still open, this store had an entire atrium, along with all the hardlines departments on the 1st floor, making the interior and exterior of the building totally unique, and the lighting was totally identical to the [Southcenter Mall store in Washington State] (https://www.reddit.com/r/SEARS/comments/1wnz6wu/sears_originally_frederick_and_nelson_department_store/) that was [originally Frederick and Nelson] (https://www.reddit.com/r/retailporn/comments/1vacxoe/former_frederick_and_nelson_later_sears/), the [Woodbridge Center location in New Jersey that was originally Abraham and Straus] (https://www.reddit.com/r/SEARS/comments/1wre1bf/sears_originally_abraham_and_straus_at_the_woodbridge_center/) and even the [former Saks at the West Oaks Mall in Houston Texas] (https://www.reddit.com/r/deadmalls/comments/1vu8ikr/former_saks_fifth_avenue_department_store_in_west_oaks_mall_houston_texas/) etc. This store's layout IMHO was one of the steps in the right direction. On November 8th of 2018 it was [announced that Sears would close 40 more stores, and this location was one of them] (https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/08/sears-to-shut-40-more-stores-early-next-year.html). This store closed down on January 20th of 2019.

Today they still operate Sears.com and have 5 stores and [3 functioning distribution centers] (https://transformwo.com/). Out of the 5 stores that are still open today, the Cielo Vista Mall store is still open on the 1st floor and some parts of the 2nd floor. It has been in operation since February 24th of 1982 and they used to be 2 floors (full size) and they have since downsized. Primark took over most of the 2nd floor. Address is 8401 Gateway Blvd W, El Paso, TX 79925. The other 4 are at:

- Coral Gables in Miami Florida 10/27/1954 - present (3655 SW 22nd St, Miami, FL 33145)

- Sun Valley Shopping Center in Concord California 10/19/1966 - present (1001 Sunvalley Blvd, Concord, CA 94520)

- South Shore Plaza in Braintree Massachusetts 10/6/1980 - present (250 Granite St, Braintree, MA 02184)

- Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso Texas 2/24/1982 - present

- The Florida Mall in Orlando Florida 3/12/1986 - present (8001 S Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32809)

This location was later a Conn's HomePlus on the 1st floor, as of October 31st of 2024, they went out of business. They didn't have the webstore anymore, conns.com and badcock.com are servicing pages now. Both went out of business due to bankruptcy caused by inflation and declining sales caused by Conn's acquisition of Badcock.

Question What restaurant was this? Parmatown, Ohio

I'm wondering if anyone could help me with this. I remember attending a place in the 80s and possibly 90s at Parmatown, but it might have been Great Northern. It was a restaurant inside of a department store on a second floor that overlooked the mall. It was a fancier restaurant and had like a dark blue circle on the ceiling with constellations painted on it. Does anyone else recall this? What restaurant was it and are there any pictures of it anywhere?

Question Houstonians: What was the old mall next to Memorial City Mall?

As the title says, before Memorial City Mall completely remodeled there was another mall under the Beltway, next to it. It was always dead, but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it. If someone could remember the name and, even, better post pics, that would be great!

Photos The old Mercosur shopping mall

The Mercosur Shopping Mall was one of the largest in Paraguay and in Salto del Guairá, and as you can see, it's currently in a terrible state. It's a place that evokes a lot of nostalgia for the city's residents. Its decline began in 2016 when it suffered an economic crisis and McDonald's decided to close its restaurant there. The shopping center is enormous; I couldn't explore everything, but I managed to take some photos. There are some inaccessible areas, so I had to take pictures through the windows of certain sections.

Question What is the (currently) longest abandoned mall

I was thinking about Dixie Square and how it stayed abandoned for almost forty years. Northridge is similar, being abandoned twenty years. While both are gone, I was wondering what currently still standing abandoned mall has been abandoned for the longest

News Westlake Mall in Seattle will have another store close

We lost Saks Fifth Avenue 2025, (3rd floor, now just blocked off except for the monorail). Asean Eats, which was a huge area of several different shops - closed Fed 2026. And Nordstrom Rack will be moving to another area downtown soon. Zara closed it's 2nd floor and 1st floor interior doors so you can only access it from the outside of the mall. The basement which was Subway, a pizza place, and Taco del mar is empty except for a few tables and chairs. (taco del mar moved upstairs to the 2nd floor). Now Claire's will also close, last day Oct 25. I have not seen much of this in the news. We used to always brag that Westlake was the one mall in Downtown Seattle that survived while Pacific Place was truly a ghost town.

When Spencer’s started remodeling their stores/opening new stores, they intentionally added an Easter egg that has a label scar of the 1997 Spencer gifts logo onto some stores, i noticed that not all of these stores have this specific Easter egg, so far i only know of 2 locations, the first one being at the now closed crystal mall in waterford connecticut and the second one being at dolphin mall, there probably are other locations that have this but I’m trying to track them dow, help would be much appreciated

I dunno if this is considered a "dying" mall, but it definitely had problems over the years (especially with crime). When I went there last Saturday, there were plenty of people shopping so the management must be doing something right with the mall. Any one else have any memories with this place?
