Image Adjustment/Calibration How does my 600 TVL PVM 14M2U look?
Is anybody able to help me and tell me if my image looks good, or if it needs adjustments, thank you!

Seems a bit bright, also occasionally will flash a bright white, idk what causes that but it happens lol. I just want to be sure that nothing is failing.

Bonjour,

Currently I am planning on designing a cabinet for my BVM-D24 (Yup a widescreen BVM) and my plan involves creating a easy cable pathway and management for each console but from researching I noticed that since I can technically connect HDMI via DAC I am interested in using PC and other devices since it is in the same room and will be next to it most of the time.
While at since this BVM has no speakers I happened to have a decent JBL tube speaker that fits just fine but there's one problem, it is AUX only so I am gonna need something that can take multiple RCA and just output one AUX if something like that exists since I doubt I could connect SCART directly with converting to 4-BNC

What are the best practices when setting up the CRT through the OSD menu? I don't think I've ever set up my CRT correctly. I think I have, but I'm not sure. I just set it up so the screen doesn't go over the edge. Is it fine when it overscans, and will it harm it in the long term?
I currently have the contrast set to 100% and brightness to 0%. Personally speaking, it brings out the best in my CRT, and I love it like that. I just want the screen to be a bit bigger at this low resolution.
Thank you!

Hello r/crtgaming, I hope you are all doing well! I recently bought a Tevion Model: T2195S 51cm TV and was planning on doing a play through of Deltarune on said TV with my switch 2 (Yes, I am aware the game isn't designed with a CRT display in mind, I just really enjoy the ambience and would love to re-experience one of my favourite games with it).
I purchased a Digitech HDMI to AV converter from a local store and got it working with the switch 2 output. The problem is, however, that the converter I am using stretches the image to fit the screen with seemingly no way to change it to cropping/letter boxing.
The reason this is important is because while Deltarune is in a 4:3 aspect ratio, the switch 2 only outputs in widescreen. This is fine for anyone playing on a modern flat screen (Where it's intended to be played and even has cute frames to immersively fill in the gaps), however when using my HDMI to AV converter it stretches out the already letter boxed image with no way to either zoom, crop, or get rid of the stretching.
Does anyone know a fix to this issue I'm experiencing so that I can play this game on the console, in the correct aspect ratio on my CRT, cropped to fit the screen without all this unnecessary stretching? I'm unfamiliar with anything super retro so genuinely any info/advice would be a giant help and I'd be forever in your favour.
Below I have attached images of the converter I'm using, the CRT, and comparison images of Deltarune on the CRT with the converter and outputting via HDMI on my trusty flatscreen.
If you have any questions whatsoever please feel free to comment below and I'll reply when I can!

Hello i just found a victor(JVC) vm-10 color monitor on internet, looks this model not bad, so i want to buy it as a gaming screen, but it looks like in the video, when the power on(no signal input), it showing full of white noise thing. What kind of malfunction could this be?

G'day!
I own a Samsung SyncMaster 763mb and I currently use it with my PS3 using a cheap VGA to HDMI converter. It works, but I feel like there is room for improvement.
What's the best way to connect a VGA plug to a PS3? I'm pretty uneducated when it comes to video output types, I'm just a bloke with a tube.
Also, the monitor has no speaker. Doesn't bother me much, but I'd love if you could recommend a monitor/tv that's as good as the SyncMaster and has a headphone jack or a built-in speaker. I'd like it to be no bigger than 16", but I'm by no means wealthy, so please, no crazy high end PVM suggestions.
Thanks!

I just got this tv off Facebook marketplace, and this is all that happens when I plug it in and attempt to turn it on. Wondering if anyone can identify the issue, and if it’s worth fixing

My Crtv makes these super annoying high pitched noises, and it’s actually so loud that even if I watch a DVD it’s so loud and annoying… I don’t know what to do, anyone got some idea if that’s normal or there is something wrong?

I have an Apple monitor that uses a curved 17" trinitron tube that weighs roughly 50lbs yet most of my other 17" monitors that use shadow masks, both curved and flatscreen, weigh ~30lbs. The only exterior difference I've seen is that the Apple monitor using a trinitron tube has more grounding and an aluminum shielding. I understand that Sony TV sets often have large speakers and other components but in the case of the tubes themselves is there a reason for them being heavier than a standard shadow mask made by Samsung or LG?

please don't roast me lol i don't really know much about retro tech or settings like everyone else here. i just thought the clear plastic and the little green light looked super cute in my room, and floating around in my game looks so soft on this glass screen. sorry if the picture looks bad! do you guys use monitors like this too? i might spam a few more pics later if that's okay, or maybe i'll just lay in bed and chill!

Hello r/crtgaming. I recently picked up a crt for the first time since I was a kid and I've noticed these very faint vertical lines when using RGB scart with my PS2. I've tried my best to capture it with my phone. The TV is a Trinitron KV-m1440u. If anyone has any info on this or can tell me what's wrong that would be much appreciated, thanks.

Just posting here because I just did these pictures to compare for myself and maybe its interesting to anybody.
Most of the times I cannot decide which to use…
Obviously rgb is way sharper and has better colors. But the dithering effect gets los and I usually enjoy the „nostalgic“ picture more than the „better“ picture.
If only it wasnt for the sometimes massive dot crawl on red-ish colors.
