When I mean extreme, I mean having them have a lot of flavour.
I’ve unfortunately lost my sense of taste, and none of the salt and vinegar crisps I’ve had have even came close to me being able to taste them, heck I can’t even taste the pure disco seasoning at the bottom of the packet.
And there are more like me who are disappointed when their crisps aren’t flavourful.
I’ve tried disco’s, Mccoy’s, the sea salt ones, spirals, sticks, Pringles, every brand my local shops offer. Nothing. And I miss the burning feeling of salt and vinegar.
So I’m proposing crisp brands having different levels of flavour.
Light
Normal
Extreme
Light for those who cannot handle/like too much flavour. Normal for those who don’t like too light but don’t like too extreme. And extreme for those who like a lot of flavour.
It gives crisp companies an excuse to produce more variety of crisps and gives consumers what they prefer(pun intended). Win win?
I expect normal and extreme to be more popular than light. But it’s still good to accommodate to those who do like different. And I know people who used to like a lot of flavour but cannot have much due to medical stuff
(If anyone is wondering, I lost my sense of taste as part of my surgery recovery and will be getting it back soon. I hope)

What's your favourite flavour of Brets? Visiting some family in France and I'm taking these four back to the UK with me. 2 of these I've never tried before! Cote de Boeuf and Bleu d'Avergne... Fromage de Jura remain my absolute go-to :)

Meat-flavoured crisps could face rebrand under new EU rules https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/crisps-meat-rules-eu-ban-b3073025.html
Hopefully it'll turn out to be a nothing burger.

Hey crisp lovers,
If its not obvious by now, this sub are big fans of Brets crisps! But as we all know, unless ordered online, they are pretty hard to find so thought I would start a thread with a list, that I will update, of where to find them in person.
Please add the location here and I will update into main post. I will also keep an eye out on peoples posts and keep this up to date. I will eventually build a google pin sheet so it plots the venues on a map. And forgive me for my divides of North/ South/ Midlands :)

Always pick up a bag if I’m in a discount store e.g. Home Bargains, B&M etc.

I know both of these have already been reviewed here individually, but I picked them up during a recent crisp mission and thought a direct comparison was worth posting.
Both packs list actual lobster in the ingredients, so on paper it’s a fair fight. In practice it’s like comparing scampi at Wetherspoons to lobster at the Savoy (I’d smash both tbh).
Lidl Deluxe Ridge Cut Lobster Cocktail: 3/5
These are essentially very strong prawn cocktail crisps. The flavour is loud, the salt is overdone, and there’s a lingering sour aftertaste that comes across as an imitation of lemon juice. If you told me they were a premium prawn cocktail I’d have believed you. I couldn’t pick out anything that tasted specifically of lobster.
M&S Extra Virgin Olive Oil Crisps with Lobster: 5/5
These appear to be built on M&S’s existing olive oil crisps, which are already top tier and on par with Torres in my opinion. The lobster flavour is delicate and actually tastes of lobster rather than just seafood seasoning. The crisps themselves look a little over-coloured, almost over-cooked, but it didn’t affect the taste and the subtle flavouring still came through.
Verdict
M&S, comfortably. The Lidl ones are fine if you want a punchy prawn cocktail fix, but the M&S crisps are the only ones of the two that deliver on the lobster promise. Tip: taste the Lidl ones first, you won’t taste much after them.
Has anyone else tried them side by side? Curious whether the over-cooked look on the M&S batch is normal or just my bag.

Sour cream were a bit meh, worse than normal sour cream. West Indies however were good, wouldn’t go racing back for either however

Which is the more popular one? I'll be honest, I prefer Transform-A-Snack, especially the beef flavour.

I’m a crisp connoisseur of sorts, I delight in discovering flavours from abroad and recently I’ve taken to making my own olive oil crisps. Happy to join the sub.
Sharing a picture of these banging Pringles I found on mainland Europe during my travels in September!

These are dangerous. Should be treated as a class A substance.
