nothing seems to quench this desire to find more july fourth privy mark quarters. the stuff i found today is lovely, but i need to find another july fourth privy before i go nuts! little w lull

problem is, not that i've found a few of those july fourth privy quarters, i feel i should find one all the time now. i know how obnoxious that sounds but that's just me. found two nineteen fifty nickels. anyone have a nice small d punch?

Wife pulled the first one which was the gold shaded bicentennial w the pig stamp. I got excited and said counterstampkarl sub will love this. She had never heard of it so I explained.

The wife just kept pulling them from this box.

Thought the counterstamp aficionados might enjoy this one and I’m really glad to add it to my collection. This has started me down a path of research into historic counterstamps as a subtopic of numismatics. Trying to track down a copy of one of Dr. Gregory Brunk’s books at the moment but they are very expensive on the secondary market.

The counterstamp is a historic marketing piece created by Charles Goodwin of Exeter, New Hampshire. GGG stands for the product Goodwins Grand Greasejuice which was a medicinal hair tonic manufactured and promoted in the mid 1850s.

If there is interest, I am happy to share some other counterstamped coins that I have collected. I think that counterstamps are a somewhat under appreciated niche of numismatics and felt like sharing this find.

I’m coming up short with this 2024-P DR MW quarter. If anyone needs additional pictures of certain areas to help with attribution please let me know what areas of the coin you need.

There’s a goose egg sized anomaly in Washington’s eye, but there’s doubling on the right side of DR MW’s hair. As far as I can see there’s no doubling on either of the Two Medals of Honor reverse side.

Searched 4 quarter boxes (3skunks) and 5 nickel boxes (2 skunks) about $260 in cwr including $30 in pennies. Pennies got stuck in s&l machine, got to clean about 30 coins/tokens off magnet.

i got that second july fourth privy mark on wednesday right? ok, so i skunk one hundred percent yesterday. nada. but i expect that after finding something so cool wed. then today happens. that cent has to almost be like a hunnid seven years old or sumthin. have a nice weekend everyone

my better seven-eighths works in retail, and they had this coin thing there, and she asked if i wanted to see if there was anything good. there was. third w of the day

I was researching the kookaburra coin I picked up the other day on the Perth mint website and saw this gem. The price is out of reach for now, but one day I’ll own one.

Stopped to grab a glizzy, a bag of chips and a drink from the gas station and looked thru what I got back and found this gem!

First nickles box results. Dateless Indian, 63 proof, 2-44s and a 43. The other nickel box looks the same so here's hoping for more of the same this weekend.

Pictures 1-6 are two separate spitting horses. Picture number 5 is interesting because I haven’t encountered a spitting horse with a curved spit stream before.

Pictures 7-11 are a 2025-P Jefferson nickel DDO/DDR.

Pictures 12-18 are a DDO/DDR 2024-P P.M. quarter.

Pictures 19 and 20 are very interesting. Like the curved spit stream in the first handful of pictures this goose egg on Washington’s eye is something I haven’t encountered before. Has anyone seen this, or can lend some insight about this?
