Instagram removes account of Cork-based influencer 'Rendy Vlad'

Finally!

The fact this lad had politicians talking about him is ridiculous.

I’m sure this wanker will see that as a badge of honour but he literally is responsible for driving a conversation about privacy and harassment because of his despicable disgusting behaviour.

What he did to many people is awful . I’m normally forgiving towards people who make mistakes at his age but he clearly didn’t learn and I hope this bad reputation does justice for the time it should.

Rendy Vlad (Meta Glasses ā€˜influencer’

Post image

Managed to get this guys account removed from Instagram! did anyone else on here report him? (he’s the guy who’s been harassing people around cork, and as far as i know other parts of the country, while filming them discreetly with those meta sunglasses looking things)

Edit: my support request was sent to instagram on August 4th, hence me not remembering what video exactly that i reported. thank god he’s gone from instagram for now!

edit 2: after reading some of the comments and seeing one from someone who has a family member that’s visually impaired, i removed my comment from the post calling them ā€˜pervert glasses’ as i think it’s unfair to those who have a genuine use for them, especially since those glasses become dangerous once they are in the hands of the wrong person, ruining it for those who would benefit.

Grief support groups that aren't religious or online?

Hi all. I've been looking for a local grief support group after suddenly losing my mother this month but they're all religious based, long waiting list, or online. I feel like being amongst others who are feeling the same grief would help me more than talking one on one to a therapist who may never had such a loss, but if someone here has had therapy that's helped them immensely I will also take their reccomendation (even if it is long waiting/online). Would prefer in real life than online. I would ask for low-cost, but I'll take anything atm.

Cork women's creative meet up

Hi guys!

I was just wondering if any women around the blackrock area would like to meet up on the weekends for a chat while we sip a coffee/tea/hot chocolate (whatever you fancy) and we sketch/paint? I'm originally thinking outside but with the winter coming, I guess that's not ideal šŸ˜… We could always find somewhere indoors alternatively (tbc)

I'm a 33 year old working in corporate and I miss the days of getting together with fellow creatives for chats and simply enjoying the love of art.

You don't have to be a practising artist, just an art lover or simply someone open to the idea. This wouldn't be a class or a workshop or anything of the sort. Just an extremely casual meet up to make friends and where you happen to bring a sketchbook ā˜ŗļø I have a ton of art materials I could bring on the day in case anyone needs some.

I just want to bring creativity to this area, keep it casual and build a supportive community of women. (We got to stick together) ā¤ļø If you'd be interested, please message me and maybe we can figure out a time and a place that would suit everyone.

Thanks for reading this far.

Cork Gig Club

Hey! Would there be any interest a group for going to gigs? I’m thinking of starting a group for folks who love music, local bands and live gigs, but might not always have people to go with.

The idea would be to meet up for gigs, discover new artists and have a bit of a natter about music!

Would anyone be interested in something like this or maybe something exists already and you can point me in the right direction?

Number of passengers handled by main Irish airports, Quarter 2 2022-2026. Does this chart reflect the chokehold that DAA has on Cork Airport?

East Cork What is wrong with teenagers in Midleton?

I am originally from East Cork, but live and work in Dublin. Go up and down Dublin to Cork on the train a lot and in the past few months I have had to do some work around Midleton so have been getting the train from Cork to Midleton and back a lot.

I have travelled a lot and used public transport in many other countries but can honestly say that I have never seen such routinely poor / bad behaviour from groups of teenagers as I have on the Midleton Cork line. Mostly groups of boys, shouting, blasting sh*te from their phones at top volume and vaping. Today a group of teen boys (between 16 and 18 years) were sitting across from some elderly people and were vaping in their direction and roaring on the phone on speaker - really sexualised conversations too. Behaving like actual animals, shouting and making everyone uncomfortable.

The part of Dublin I live In would be considered quite disadvantaged, and I use public transport in Dublin all the time and have never witnessed the level of bad behaviour from teens there. Absolute scrotes. And I hate that word.

Dwyers bouncer during Jazz week

The heavy bouncer with the hat, on the door at Dwyers is not a nice guy at all, we are all in our mid 20s and firstly we were in the queue for 35 minutes got to the top and he wouldn’t let us in for being 21 a rule they made up as we knew people who were 18 who were in there, after that we said okay and by that time he proceeded to grab and push 3 of my friends away in a very agressive manner. I’m just here to say there is no need to be aggressive towards people when there was no reason to be.

Need help finding shop not anywhere in google

My friends and I found this vintage shop a few weeks ago and we’ve been trying to look it up ever since to come back and we can’t find it. I remember it was literally just ā€˜vintage’ and something else with a misspelling I THINK but I’m probably wrong..? also sold jewellery outside of their shop. Can anyone help me find the name of it? Thanks.

Local Stray dog on Oliver Plunkett St.

If anyone is/knows anyone with a missing dog, i just spotted a stray dog on Oliver Plunkett St. He was heading towards the Grand Parade at 10.15am. It's a mostly black dog, looks to be well fairly well kept, probably about 30-40kg/mid sized dog and a bit grey around the muzzle so it might be around 5 or 6 years old. I tried to catch it but it was moving to quick and im working so i can do after it plus I didn't want to scare it/chase it into traffic.

Recommendation for Pre-Purchase Structural Engineer in Cork?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently Sale Agreed on a second-hand house in Cork and looking for recommendations for a reliable structural engineer to carry out a full pre-purchase building survey.

Ideally looking for someone responsive with a decent turnaround time for the written report.

Any recommendations (or engineers to avoid) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Lower Glanmire Road Crash

Post image

Just a heads up there lads the Lower Glanmire Road is at a snails pace in the Glanmire/N25 direction at the moment due to a crash and one of the lanes being blocked. Been stuck in it for the past 30 minutes and (so have the busses that use it) - I don’t think the timing could’ve been any worse..

Food and Drink Any bakeries do a good savoury meat pie?

Returned from Oz a year ago where all bakeries do delicious chicken or beef pies. Wondering if there are any bakeries in Cork that people would recommend similar savoury pies?
