Mod Announcement EVERYONE is allowed here.

Yes, we allow men.

Yes, we allow gay people.

Yes, we allow trans people.

Yes, we allow non-binary people.

Yes, we allow dogs.

Reptiles? I dunno how they would carry, but hell yes.

So please, do not report a post just because you don't like it. Go through the rules, if it breaks one, hit the button! If it doesn't, leave our poor push notifications alone. You are allowed to dislike something, you are not allowed to attack someone because of it, nor are you free of the consequences of your actions.

This is a gun subreddit. We are here to talk about firearms and pepper spray and ponder why the FUCK women's pockets are so tiny.

That is all,

Xoxo

gun recs?

Hey guys,

never thought I would carry a gun before, but over the years ( and especially after living alone for a long time) I've realized that no one is going to be there to protect me. I've been very lucky in getting out of situations with just situational awareness and making an escape - till now. Today I had someone chase me and try to hit me with their car, and 911 didnt answer.

I have just signed up for a firearms course. I am no stranger to guns, and I have shot a variety of rifles and pistols before, but its been a long time and I have never owned one before. I am looking for something small that could be easily concealed on my small frame. hopefully relatively light and as little recoil as possible. I will certainly ask at the range, but I need some kind of starting point.

I'm the only person that going to look out for me, so I might as well have some tools to help.

Which first Optic vs WML?

Context, trying to determine which I should buy first. Logic is WML, can’t defend yourself against something you can’t see. Thinking of the Olight PLX.

Give me your thoughts, also drop any suggestions on any budget friendly optics and WML for a Shield X it would be really appreciated!

What is everyone’s preferred carry gun?

Hey everyone! I have been carrying a Shield Plus for the last year and while I’m not unhappy with it, I don’t love training with it. Same goes with my Sig P365 and Glock 43X. I’d love to hear what others enjoy training with and carrying?

Edit: after being on the fence for over a year now and seeing all the positive feedback about the Bodyguard, I “pulled the trigger” on the Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp and I’m off to the range! Thank you everyone and excited to keep hearing what everyone else carries!

How to get comfortable with idea of holstering

I’m not talking about “what does it mean to be a person who carries” but rather “I know that I am a conscientious person who did everything right when learning about safe gun handling but I’m still scared to keep a pistol flush against my body or in a bag on my person because what if it just went off and hurt someone else or me…. even though that’s extremely unlikely and it’s in a safety-oriented (kydex) holster that I’ve practiced with and has multiple safety checks and the gun itself also has safety checks.” Do I just not keep one in the chamber, ever?

bg 2.0 ammo recs & feedback

hi ladies ! so, i’m looking at getting a bg 2.0 performance center within the next couple weeks. i’ve done a lot of research on the gun and i shot it at the range (had a blast). i already have some training ammo otw but i was wondering what defensive ammo you all use / recommend for edc. i’ve watched some ballistics testing videos too but i wanted to hear from other women who already have the bg and have shot it more than i have. i was looking at speer gold dot or maybe some buffalo bore.

also, ive seen some really mixed reviews about the bg and s&w qc, but if you have any other info you’d like to share about the gun i’m all ears! i’m committed cause i already have a holster for it and i do really like it but it seems kinda polarizing almost lol. either way, thanks in advance 💐

New to firearms/ wanting to carry

I’m looking for recommendations, would like something easy to conceal and beginner friendly. I’ve shot guns only a handful of times so definitely will look into lessons and safety classes. I’m a new mom and have a lot of anxiety going places without my boyfriend, but i have to sometimes so i’m hoping this would just give some peace of mind. and also recommendations of carrying styles, pros vs cons. thanks!

(my boyfriend knows plenty about guns but he is a man and would definitely like a women’s perspective😹)

I have a Ruger LCP and I’d like something like the enigma for CC.

But from what I can tell, the enigma doesn’t support the original LCP. Is there something similar you ladies might recommend?

Thigh & Calf holsters

So I spent forever looking for a quality thigh holster as most days I wear a dress. After using it for a week I think Her Tactical has made a great product. I did buy the "garter belt" to hold up the holster (for a p365 with extended mag and extra extended mag and my benchmade mini claymore otf)... the clips that are supposed to hold up the holster come undone after maybe 15/20 mins of walking so I ended up sewing the garter clips and now its perfect. The quality of the holster is really top notch, this thing is going to last years! If I'm wearing a corset I just use alligator dress clips and clip it to the bottom of the corset and it's really locked in.

I tried the Bug Bite calf holster to use under my wide leg jumpsuits/ flare leggings and with my p365 there's no way it's concealed but the quality is awesome and it's super comfy. Would recommend if you have a small gun.

Edit: I'm 5'4" and a thick 170lbs- I used their size chart and got a size L for the holster and garter belt, I feel like they're accurate to size. I also got the thigh holster shorts in xl and they're awesome too.

Who has trouble finding a belt

Who has trouble finding a conceal carry belt that can go THROUGH belt loops? I’ve got one 1.5” wide and I have trouble going through most of my slacks belt loops. I’m going to be releasing a line and am checking to see if there is enough interest in 1.25” wide belts to warrant getting the supplies in bulk and adding the skus. I know it does reduce the resistant and most belt clips are designed to work with 1.5” belts….. but at 5’2” and 114 lbs appendix carrying a compact CZ, and left hand draw… it’s just sooooo aggravating to go to the bathroom to undo the button. Am I an outlier? Anyone else need better options who need to be able to go to the bathroom faster?

My Kydex Velcro holster with QAPS UltraGrid Very Berry Concealment Bag.

Still getting used to the idea of concealed carry, and wanted to have an option other than my iwb holster.

Overall I think this is a cute bag that blends right in with the dozens of sling bags and fannypacks that are super common in my (not very ccw-friendly) area. I like using it for carrying other things too!

Women in the 2A community: Where do you meet like-minded people?

Quick question for the ladies.

I've noticed most women I meet at ranges, classes, and shooting events are already married, engaged, or have a boyfriend hiding somewhere behind a plate carrier.

For those who are single (or were when you met your partner), where do you meet people who genuinely enjoy training, range days, self-defense, gear, and the 2A lifestyle?

Just curious about the female perspective. Thanks!

Bra or thigh holsters?

Have any of you ladies tried one of the bra or thigh holsters on the market?

I wear a lot of more structured skirts to work, often with bodysuit top and blazer, and I’m trying to figure out what might be more effective at concealing. I just took my CCW class on Saturday, and will be mailing my packet in soon!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I’m also looking into the PHLster Enigma and a standard IWB holster with clips and wings for added variety.

Best home defense rifle for women?

I know pistols are different than home defense rifles, but i figured women here would probably have some thoughts. Down the road i would like to get a PCC or the like for a dedicated home defense setup. I have taken pistol classes and i do have a shotgun for hunting, but specifically for night defense, think home invasion by burglar or assailants, i would like a rifle. Im short and for my shotgun i needed to have even a womens shotgun stock shortened. I also needed a raised comb due to my higher cheekbone and neck. Are there any pcc style guns you would recommend with shorter lengths of pull and/or raised or adjustable combs?

What gun do you have?

My husband has a Beretta 80X Cheetah, and he recently took me to the range so I could learn how to safely handle and use it in case of an emergency. I actually did really well shooting it and really enjoyed the experience!
I’m now interested in getting a firearm of my own, but I don’t really love how the Beretta feels when carrying it on my hip. So I’d like to explore some different options and see what works better for me.
I’d love to hear from other women about what you carry and why you chose it. What do you like about yours? Anything you don’t like? If you could go back and choose again, would you pick the same one?

How do you carry all your stuff?

So I don't carry a purse. If I'm out and about, occasionally I wear a crossbody bag fir my keys, wallet, etc. But, I'm typically only carrying keys phone wallet. Phone in my left pocket, keys & wallet in my right.

But, since I started carrying (I carry IWB right above my left pocket),depending on the pants im wearing, my left pocket is semi covered up so I keep my phone, but nothing else. And on my right pocket, ive added pepper spray to my keys, and my right pocket was pretty crowded before, but now its just packed.

Long story short, how are we carrying things these days (not in a purse)?

Looking to carry higher up around my waist

What belts are you using to CC higher up around the waist or at the belly button level?

I have a belly band and it keeps getting loose and I have to adjust it throughout the day. I was hoping to fix that.
