I’m not sure which form counts as “complaining”—I’ve never written a complaint letter. Anyway, I’m personally really passionate about Star Trek. I mostly watch TOS, and recently there was a Star Trek fan convention, so I joined the organizers’ group chat.

When I mentioned that Chris Pine's involvement in that “peace letter” made me not want to watch AOS anymore, a Pine fan jumped in and, for some reason, tried to “correct me” and defend Pine's reputation.

By that point, I was so angry my hands were shaking, but I could tell right away what kind of person she was. It's obvious she didn't care about Palestinians. She just wanted to worship a white man without guilt.
I also didn’t see the point in continuing the conversation—after all, she’d clearly already made up her mind.

(I never took the initiative to expand on the topic of Pine; she was the one who suddenly brought up the issue I’d casually mentioned two conversations ago.)

I found it disgusting. So what did the lawmakers who demanded the evidence do when the evidence didn't tell them what they wanted to hear?

They basically shoved it under the rug and kept the ban anyway. They later moved toward making the restrictions permanent.

Remember that while reading about the federal government now offering money for research specifically framed around gender dysphoria and violent crime.

Because commissioning research is not necessarily the same thing as being willing to follow the evidence wherever it leads.

I’m a high schooler, and we had an assembly for “mental health” (he was mostly just telling stories of how he was made fun of/bullied for being interested in radios, and how to make friends) by someone (I don’t remember their name) who doesn’t work in the school district or live in the city, he was from Canada I think. I don’t remember much of what he said because I couldn’t hear well but one thing I heard was basically “If you know someone who is thinking about committing suicidal, text them and when they say thanks, you’ve prevented them from doing so.” Me and my friends immediately were shocked and talking about since the in our opinion TEXTING IS ONE OF THE THINGS NOT TO DO! And also if all they say is “thanks” they’ll still likely do it. If you can’t call; then fine, BUT call them as soon as you physically can. My and friends agreed that if one of our friends is in that situation, WE ARE CALLING OR GOING OVER, and staying in the call until the person falls asleep, and calling back in the morning or staying call all night to make sure that they are still there. TALKING ABOUT THIS TYPE OF STUFF IS HIS ENTIRE JOB AND HE STILL FUCKED IT UP! Not to mention he also apparently(we talked about the assembly in a different class and this is one of the things I heard another student say) said that “if you’re getting bullied, at least you’re getting attention.” Like, genuinely HOW HAS HE NOT LOST HIS JOB!

Especially because a grammatically correct request is even shorter!
