This is my reaction to my first shots with one. A buddy on the squad let me shoot his after the match. Just got put to the top of the list of the next thing to buy for my rifle. I didn’t think you could get a rifle this flat without a full on muzzle brake.
The trigger is a geissele sd3g. Which is also on the list of things to buy
Milspec BCG and JP h2 scs buffer

I shoot USPSA but want to branch out to 2 or 3 gun. I'm looking for optics set ups for an AR15 shooting out to max 300 yards, more probably 200 yards max around here. Is a 1-6 LPVO with a red dot at 45 degrees on the side legit or not useful? Is a red dot like a Holosun 510c and a magnifier the way to go? Looking to spend Holosun money and not EOTech money (or worse) if you know what I mean. Suggestions? Thanks everyone.

My day started at 6am so I could be at the Cancer Center by 8. How lucky am I to have a best friend who had to start his day early so he could take me! Nick Chandler ensures that I make it! I was very lucky! When I was first diagnosed with stage 4 cancer my oncologist told me that no matter what I can’t stop living. That brings the second part of my day. At 6pm pistol league starts. I go even with my chemo bag attached. It definitely makes it harder but that’s okay! I got 4th out of 20 tonight and it’s so much fun!! How lucky am I that I get to still enjoy my Viking Valknut! That dude Jacob is doing some incredible things! Then I get to come home to Vivienne and feed her snacks! What a great day! Cancer definitely sucks but I’m living life!!! I’m blessed!! #fuckcancer #chemotherapy #shooting

Hi all;
I have a new Ruger Mark IV (about 6 months / 2,000 shots old).
Using an Ultimate Clip Loader it works great on one of the magazines that came with the gun. But the other magazine it consistently pushes bullets down vertically so the first is pointing back up the magazine jamming the entire magazine.
If I hand load the magazine bullet by bullet, that works.
Is the magazine bad? Or is the clip loader prone to this problem and I'm just lucky that it works well with the one magazine?
Also, if it is bad, where's the best place to buy additional magazines?
thanks

Are Decibullz okay? Should I spend the extra $50 and grab a pair of IsoTunes?
Found myself in a pinch and my caswells took a dump on me. Fixing to save up for some Otto’s but in the meantime I need something as my over-ear muffs cause my glasses to dig.

My brand new Glock made it less than 2000 rounds before this happened. Any experts want chime in if this is stress/fatigue/factory failure or if I'm overreacting and this is just the coating cracking?

I wfh and I'm really trying to step up my dry firing practice, from drawing, to reloads etc, you name it, if the gun isn't going bang, I'm really trying to work on it during the cold months.
I'm thinking about basically wearing my set up all day long and when I'm between meetings and stuff, get up and work a drill for 5-10 minutes during the day.
Is this crazy work on my part or will this actually pay off? Otherwise I would just slap belt on a few times a week when I happen to have my lunch or something like this. This my attempt to force myself to do reps consistently.

Hey all,
I’m really getting the itch to try 2 and/or 3 gun. I have shot USPSA consistently for about 2 years. Between 3-4 practice sessions a month and 1-4 actual competitions per month.
If I wanted to get into 2 gun how much more is that going to cost me on a recurring basis? The gear is always the easy part. The recurring cost are the hard part.
If i wanted to shoot 2 or 3 gun matches twice a month how much should i expect in ammo costs and match fees?

I’ve never done competition shooting, and I would like to get some advice in what I should improve. I’ve got a few tips and been told that my movements “crashes” to the target. I’ve also been missing shots too, but the ranges I go to don’t allow me to shoot faster splits, so I was shocked of my lack of grip in a dynamic environment.
Overall, I’m just glad I didn’t DQ and was able to finish my first match.

Has anyone installed the apex competition spring kit with the flat faced forward set trigger kit? Did you use the recommended purple sear spring or the sear spring from the competition kit?
Currently using the apex orange sear spring with the unpainted return spring. Should I try the factory return spring?

I have recently gotten back into shooting. I have put 500 rounds through my new pistol. Interested in getting into steel challenge with my unmodified canik mete mc9ls shooting iron sights. Currently only have the 2 17rd mags that came with the gun. Not looking to dump a bunch of money unless I end up getting serious into competing. Would a run off the mill OWB kydex holster and 2 mags be enough to shoot my first match? Been seeing a lot of comments recommending 3-5 mags.

Hey all! Trying to figure out if there's a way to setup a search in Practiscore for matches that are listed as all classifiers. Still trying to work on my rating and there doesn't seem to be a straightforward way to break out match types on the site. I know I can just keyword search on the "matches" page, but is there a better or more efficient way to do it?

So there are plenty of brass and other weighted base plates for pistol mags to help them drop free easier. Is there something similar for AR mags for competition?
I was able to find a couple extended base pads for like +3 or +5 capacity, but nothing that seemed exclusively for adding weight. And I think they were all aluminum or plastic

Of course the first stage of the day was the classifier. Just tried to burn a bit too bright.
We were waiting for the squad to finish the next stage so I was able to do a reshoot just for fun and would have had an A class run.
Also came extremely close to breaking the 180 after catching myself. I’m usually more mindful of that

Hey all - took some footage while at the range today. Despite having owned firearms for about 10 years, I didn’t start shooting in earnest until this March. So consider me newish to pistol shooting. Have set a goal of being able to do a competition next year
Would love some tips. Have been watching a ton of YouTube shooting nerd videos. Not sure if you can discern anything from the angle. Hopefully though.
Thank you in advance!
EDIT: thanks everyone for the advice and encouragement. Will be sure to grab a photo of the target to post in the future. Definitely vulnerable moment to put up the video. But really appreciate all the help!

Hi everyone, I am a Polish citizen planning a temporary trip to the US and I want to bring my personal AR-15 rifle with me. I know I need an approved ATF Form 6NIA, but I have a few specific questions regarding the process and configuration.
My Rifle: Semi-automatic AR-15 with a standard 16-inch barrel and an overall length well over 26 inches. It features standard tactical cosmetics (pistol grip, adjustable stock, threaded muzzle). It is strictly semi-automatic and does not violate any federal NFA laws.
Trip Purpose: Attending a certified sport shooting competition (I will have the official match invitation/registration letter attached to my application).
Destination: Flying directly into a firearms-friendly state (Texas) to avoid local state-level assault weapon bans.
Questions:
For those who have done this recently, how long is the current ATF processing time for a Form 6NIA?
Does the ATF scrutinize the cosmetic "tactical" features of an AR-15 for a temporary non-immigrant import, or do they solely care about NFA restrictions (barrel length/semi-auto status) and the match invitation?
Are there any specific issues I should expect with US Customs (CBP) at my destination airport when declaring the approved form?
Thanks for any advice from international shooters who have done this!

I’m in the market for my first comp gun. Learning the ropes now as a competitor coming from a CC background. I have a P320 Compact, which I was gonna use, but I think it might be better to switch the full-size.
What would y’all recommend as a mid tier quality gun? Is there much difference going from a polymer type style to a 2011? I’ve shot mostly FN and SIG. I do have a couple 1911s and really like them but they lack the capacity.
I had someone recommend Agency which are the custom Glocks. But not looking to spend that kind of coin out of the gate. But really liked them. Didnt really consider myself a Glock guy but seeing those caught my attention.
Right now, I’m thinking M&P Performance Center Metal HD 2.0, Walther, but 2011s keep pulling eye. Canik seemed like a good bang for your buck entry level, but I’m just not sure about it. Never experienced one.
I have access to a lot of high end rentals at my range but wondering if it’s worth bumping the budget too.
Let me know your thoughts!
EDIT: Belt is Kore Essentials inner and outer with Henning Group magnet pouches. Just two for now. When I figure out which gun I may go RangeKenetics holster? My range carries these but open to options.

My 2027 goal was to make a master in Limited Optics. I’m going to take a break from LO soon and I’d like to make master in Carry Optics next. What are people running in Carry Optics (prefer striker fired). I’m still undecided as to what I’ll use. Thanks!
