Progress update on my classic-style Vision piece!

Building up the dramatic lighting and rich values across his flowing cape and torso, capturing that realistic comic book feel heavily inspired by Alex Ross.

Layering up the darks with Staedtler Mars Lumograph pencils and Faber-Castell Polychromos Black to really make those highlights pop on the A3 Bristol Smooth board.
Lower body and legs are next! What do you think of how the cape shading turned out?

Materials Used:
Paper: Bristol Smooth A3
Pencils: Graphite Pencils, Staedtler Mars Lumograph & Faber-Castell Polychromos Black

Working on a panel using the level of detail of cover art. Crits?

The second one is the one that had the procreate filter for shadows but I think it went to another one.

It’s supposed to be my character watching his prey (a pedophile priest) from outside of his high rise apartment, from the balcony. The darkness behind him is the sky. I’m just adding more and more until it looks like my vision.

The coat is obviously not worked on much yet…

Update on my previous art style question

The first picture is an update of my previous drawing (second) I took note on several tips and advice to make it look better.

I basically had to re-draw (SketchUp) the arms and then paste them on top of the old picture and a similar thing for the chest and abdomen. I also cleaned it up and used a little help from an AI tool to improve the quality and resolution because at this point, the picture was really messed up.

So, what do you think? Is it an improvement or not really?

Traditional inking process for my horror comic, THE ESTRANGED

Here's a look at how I ink my comic pages traditionally, bringing the shadows and darker atmosphere of the story to life.

THE ESTRANGED is an independent sapphic horror thriller written by Jason McNamara, illustrated by me, Matthieu Pereira, and colored by Dave Kemp.

It's available right now on Kickstarter!

What do you think of the traditional inking process?

You can see more videos of pencils or inking on my YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/@matthpereiraart or Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/matthpereiraart?cplk=dGVjNzJibnExODRl
