We really did push the sacrifice Softball and Thunder basketball button for a baseball postseason run.

Which one of you sickos did that?

Since we've never done this before, I think we need some advice in case we win (I'm not assuming anything, to be clear). If we win, do we rush the field? Do we throw anything into Potter Lake? In basketball, we don't go on the court for anything other than a national championship (watch party, obviously). The court at AFH is sacred. In football, I've seen us rush the field because we made a long field goal to defeat Louisiana Tech. I've also seen us take down the goal posts and throw them into the lake three times in one season (2005, MU, Nebraska, and ISU to become bowl eligible). What is supposed to happen if you win a Super Regional at home?

Oklahoma and Kansas have one of the oldest rivalries in college baseball, dating back to their first meeting in 1906. The two teams played another regularly from 1920 until 2024. Oklahoma has largely dominated the rivalry and leads the all-time series 175-97-1. OU also leads the all-time series in Lawrence, 71-44-1.

Oklahoma has won 14 of the last 16 games against Kansas, including the last 5 season series.

I did not need to know all of this.

So happy we get to do this in Lawrence again. We're a lot better playing at home.

This is still so cool

Last time OU came to Kansas a pretty cool thing happened. Let's do it again.

I was there, and I stayed to the end through all of the rain and cold. Totally worth it.

Billy Tubbs vs Roy Williams

The most memorable matchup was Billy Tubbs vs. Larry Brown (and more importantly, Danny Manning).

When I think of Billy Tubbs that game comes to mind. Larry Brown (I mean he is a Mt. Rushmore level basketball coach) completely outclassed Tubbs in that second half.

New hire at work is a KU grad and fan. We've been trash talking each other since regular season/tournament....and now it's turned to full on support.

I absolutely want both of us to go to Omaha.

Went to the KU-WVU game when y’all joined the conference and had a BLAST. Was thrilled to see you come back against UK and hope we both make it to Omaha. Rock Chalk, and go big 12!

We stand with our mountaineer bros 🫡

Hell ya. Made a point to watch WVU the other night. Let’s go Big 12 and of course RCJH!!

What is this lovefest going on between KU and WVU? I’ve seen it in several threads lately. I mean, Kansas doesn’t even have trees

5

u/Background-Bath-558 Jun 04 '26

Clearly you have never been to Lawrence. There is also some irony to this post given that people, particularly Arkansas people, have complained about our small stadium. One reason it is hard to expand it is because of all the trees.

6

u/RoutineDog7169 Jun 03 '26

I’ve been to Morgantown a handful of times for games and my first interaction with a WVU fan was him hitting me on the back and saying “if I knew a jayhawk was gonna be here I would’ve brought some moonshine”, anytime I’m at the big 12 tourney in KC I look for the WVU fans, great fans good people.

And trees are overrated.

Big 12 love brother.... You wouldn't get it

Still no word on tickets for this. It's probably gonna happen at some random time and I'll miss it.

Public sale is 10 a.m. Friday. I'm guessing the only things left will be SRO in the outfield. In addition to the 'Back Yard' that they put in in left field, there is now going to be some SRO in right field as well. I don't think they re-did the fence, so I don't know how that's going to work. I haven't decided whether I'd rather stand in the outfield or watch on TV. I'll definitely buy a seat if that's an option.

From what I hear on the Discord reserved seating is already gone. This must have been a much higher level donor sale because I never heard anything from my season ticket rep about opportunities to purchase seating early. May call today and see if they at least have Backyard tickets.

2

u/Background-Bath-558 Jun 05 '26

I managed to get two "Back Yard" tickets for tomorrow. It won't be as good of a view as the TV, but I want to be there and experience it once. Then I'll watch on TV Sunday.

3

u/FatPatToth Jun 03 '26

I’d expect tickets to go on sale today at 10AM

3

u/originalusername4567 Jun 03 '26

I had heard tomorrow for the general sale, actually.

2

u/countrybreakfast1 Jun 03 '26

Not like us commoners will get a shot at those. They will be scooped up by boosters and put on secondary market before they even go on sale to general public. At least that is how it went last week

3

u/originalusername4567 Jun 03 '26

There really wasn't that many on the secondary market. And I'm a Williams Fund donor so I was part of the last presale and would hopefully be a part of this one.

Gotcha…
