Hi there,
I am from Canada and will be visiting China soon, leaving this weekend. I will be spending 3 days in Chongqing. I have been recommended to go to Dazu. I saw a tour on Trip that leaves Chongqing at about 7:30AM and comes back by 5:30PM. I was wondering if Dazu is worth it if I am already going to see Grand Buddha of Leshan. I have already seen a couple of nice Buddha statues during my trips to South Korea and Japan.
Also, I have been wanting to visit the famous Hot pot on the hills with the view of the city. My question is, as a solo traveler, can I get a spot there or it is reserved for at least 2 people? I also noticed that the food isn't as good as the view. Which other hot pot spot do you recommend?
During my stay in Chongqing, I also plan to see Jiefangbei + Shibati, Hongya Cave + Qiansimen Bridge, Liziba, Eling Park, Three Gorges Museum + Great Hall, Yangtze River Cableway, Longmenhao / Nanbin Road, and just enjoy the city at night.
Is there a place to meet locals speaking English?
Thank you!

Hi
Am Planning to visit Chongqing but am wondering should i fly to chengdu for 100€ less or pay 100€ more to fly straight to ckg but the only downside is 8.30hr layover in shanghai on both legs.

An 8.5-hour layover sounds like way too much! The high-speed train from Chengdu to Chongqing only takes about 1.5 hours. Both Chengdu airports (TFU and CTU) have high-speed rail stations, so you can take a train to Chengdu East Station (about 30 mins from TFU or 15 mins from CTU), then transfer to another train to Chongqing. The whole trip should be pretty manageable

Hey, I’ll be in in Chongqing from October 22nd to 25th. What do you guys think are the must sees when I’m there? And do you have recommendations for any hidden local spots in Chongqing where tourists normally don’t go? Just any cheap but nice bar or restaurant or any different spots to hang out. It would also be great if anyone new some cool events (preferably in english, stuff like bar crawls, cooking classes, food tours, stuff like that…) where you could meet other people and just have a fun time in the city?
Any recommendations are welcome:)
Also, if anyone wants to meet up there to grab some drinks or food or explore the city just text me here and i’ll give you my IG. By the way, I’m Valentin,19, from Berlin, Germany and I speak English, German and some French.
:)

A must-see in Chongqing is the unique view of "two rivers with four banks", you won't miss that.
Bars could be disappointing, because Chongqing haven't had bar culture for very long time.

Hi! Im coming to Chongqing towards the end of my trip for a really short period of time. My train reaches the east station at 6pm on Friday, and I have to leave early morning on Sunday from the west station for my train at 8.30 am. I'm completely okay with only doing the touristy highlight things as I'm going to several other places anyways. I'm staying around Minsheng road in Yuzhong: will most likely take didi's everywhere.
Anyways, I definitely do not want to miss the Drone Show and the raffles city skywalk at Sunset! Do you think I can do both of these on Saturday evening? How would you recommend I spend my morning, maybe the Liziba rail, Ciqikou Ancient town and the Jiafengbei Pedestrian street?
is there anything I can actually do on friday night after 7:30? Is the Hongya cave doable and are there any chill late night things going on around?
Additionally I'm also vegetarian (no sort of meat, animal oil or seafood) so will I really be fortunate enough to get decent food in the area and if so can you please drop the recommendations with their address and a Chinese phrase on what to ask for. Really appreciate all the help, this is my first time in china so I'm really looking forward to the verticalness and insane skyline Chongqing has to offer

Hi, I'm a 26 year old Filipino guy stuck here in chongqing for a bit because I lost my passport 🤣 already processed all documents so not a problem now, I will be flying tuesday once I get my exit visa.
My clients and tour team will be leaving saturday so I'd be left alone by saturday evening until Tuesday.
I would def love to tag along with other foreign or even locals who would be roaming around the city.
Message me 😁

How long would you guys recommend a repeat visit? I was there for 4 days last year, but I fell in love and want to experience way more (I didn’t visit Wulong last time for example). I’m thinking 1.5 week?
