Engine hallucinating
Why does the engine wants me to sacrifice my bishop instead of just cleanly capturing a hanging queen????

You're still capturing the queen, you're just breaking the kingside pawn structure and removing castling rights first (with check).
I can't see the full line the engine is going for but I suspect after you capture the queen with bishop you then bring your own queen in with check for 3 pretty strong offensive pieces against an exposed king.
Edit: looking deeper I'm guessing it's something like:
-
Bxf7+ kxf7
-
Bxg5 ???
-
Qf3+ kg8
-
Qf5#
As a potential line (With some alternative lines depending on move 2 and king moves)

It is just a matter of which one is a faster victory. Low depth stockfish considered Bxf7 leads to faster mate but at higher depth Bxg5 is top line.

Makes sense, an extra attacking bishop opens up more offensive opportunities but is more complicated to calculate.

Probably low depth

low depth engine is basically a drunk friend giving you bad life advice, ignore and take the free queen

The sacrifice is an intermezzo check before capturing the queen so that you can chase their king around after you remove the queen and prevent them from trying to arrange their defences.
Honestly the engine is trying to play a bit too fancy and higher depth doesn’t favour the sac, but one way you’re up a free queen, and the other way you’re up a queen and pawn for a bishop against an exposed king - so both are completely winning. Longer eval gives +8 vs +9 so either is completely fine
