Cat for Adoption

Hello! I am currently fostering a 7 year old cat in the champaign-urbana area, she is spayed already. She is a little scared from her previous owner and just need someone who is willing to be patient with her and willing to love her. She has shown no signs of aggression, just a little nervous. Would you, or anyone you know be interested it. Please let me know!!

District 4 bond proposition.

I don't have kids and don't know the ins and outs of how to decide about the District 4 bond proposition.

Do you have concerns about the prop as written? What are your considerations as you look at this issue?

Stolen Bicycle

Hi! If anyone spots a silver and red women's Gary Fisher bike with black plastic fenders and a big wire basket on the back, kindly drop me a line. It also has a lot of stripes of yellow reflective tape on it - not a subtle bike. Some douchebag stole it from my front yard, and I owe them some difficulties.

Looking for a hairstylist who's great at razor cuts

Mid-long hair, wavy, no color services. I have fast-growing, unruly hair and it loves a razor cut (the kind that makes super-layered/textured cuts, not like a shaved undercut.)

I live in Urbana, but truly I'll do anything (but drive to Mahomet) for a great cut and a person I can rely on for, like, 2-3 cuts/year max.

Bonus points if their salon also does basic/natural manicures and brow waxing, but I will certainly go elsewhere for those if not.

I'm looking for a place I can get a shampoo, razor cut, and quick scrunch/dry, maybe a nail shaping/clear coat, not feel rushed through, and not feel pressured to start coloring my hair. (I'm letting my gray do its thing.)

Trick or Treating

We are new to the area, and I’m not sure about where we should plan for trick or treating with our 7 year old or how much candy to give out.

I want to avoid being in a spot where most houses have their lights off and it’s a hike between the ones giving out candy (not as much fun for the kiddo)

I’d also like to avoid having way too much or too little candy to give out ourselves.

We live in the University/Church St area and are hoping to trick or treat near home but are open to going further afield if most people in our neighborhood just keep their porch lights off for the night.

Thanks for the help!

I have 3, 9 weeks old, little girl kittens looking for new homes

I have 3 girl kittens, 9 weeks old. I'm needing to re-home. I've found wonderful homes for kittens before on here.

Usually I'd wait longer but their mom seems done, they're already independent, and other personal reasons.

They're very sweet, loving, playful, and just adorable. I'd rather a couple go together or to a place with another cat. They're great with my older cats and very socialized.

if you have any questions feel free to message me!

Thank you!

Another Person Moving to Chambana

Hey all, I know these subs tend to get a lot of these so sorry if this is a bit exhausting. I've combed a lot of the subreddit looking for other posts and gotten some good information, but I decided making my own post wasn't a bad idea either just to get some more specifics.

I'm moving to the Chambana area. I have a friend who's local but lives technically outide the area and doesn't have much experience with the whole housing search (admittedly I also have little despite being like 33).

I'm disabled and live off SSI and my roommate-to-be has a full time job, but they also have some debt that eats up some of their income so we're looking for something cheap and affordable. I have some SSI backpay that should make the move itself easy, but the concern is finding a place long-term affordable (especially with a very queer friendly area as we're both variations of lgbtq+).

With some digging I found a couple decent 2 bedroom apartments, but I saw on another thread to avoid Campustown, especially since neither of us are students. Parker Glen seems decent and is one of the places I've been eyeballing since we meet the income limitation requirements, but I wanted to reach out and ask if anyone knew of any decent but affordable apartment complexes to look into before I settle on an option.

I'm moving from North Carolina so I'm pretty far out of state and can't afford to make a trip ahead of time to set things up, so I'm mostly relying on that friend to do the in-person inspections and such, but we want to make sure we're getting a decent place for cheap. Obviously we aren't expecting a miracle or anything, but as long as the place is livable and affordable that's our main concerns.

Any feedback or help is welcome, and feel free to ask any questions if need be! Thank you for reading and sorry for making yet another "moving to Chambana" post lol.

Hey, so, here's my current situation. I got an RV, I got a job lined up, but I do not have a car. A bit of a risk in an attempt to build stability, but could be so worth it if things pan out how I'm hoping.

Last year, my husband passed away from cancer, and I have been trying like absolute hell to build stability since. I have so much going for me now that I am scared of watching crumble beneath me.

If someone would be willing to drive me back and forth to work, I would appreciate it so so much. I will pay gas money and extra if you ask for a price. Uber is expensive, and so I'm trying to avoid Uber prices. In the meantime, I would be saving up for a car.

I also completely and totally understand if this is not allowed, or if no one steps up to do this. I will, at this point in my life, bend over backwards to show that I am trustworthy. I have 3 cats and a service dog that I'm trying to take care of. They're vulnerable, I need to protect and take care of them. I don't know where else to reach out to for help.

Another thing as well, if someone has a space in their yard or something available where I can legally park my RV so I can use the bus system to get to work, I can do that too. I'll pay for it even. It would just be until I can afford a used car and transport myself.

Thank you for your time. If mods decide this isn't allowed, I completely get it, but I had to try something.

Edited to add details: My apologies! I've never done anything like this before and so wasn't sure what details I should put in. Thank you for your input!

I work at FedEx, specifically mid-day to afternoon shifts. On November 5th I have orientation at 8 PM. My shifts would vary as I'm only part-time right now. I was told that I'd be there anywhere from an hour to six hours. However, having worked during seasonal months before with a package handling position, it's not often that shifts last an hour.

I have a 30' Class C RV.

Pay is weekly, so I'd get a used car as soon as my first paycheck came in. I have a spot in Danville reserved for hookup, and I'd go there as soon as I got my car.

If I wasn't clear enough or if there's any other information you think I should put in, by all means feel free to let me know. I want to be as transparent as possible, and I want to communicate as clearly as possible.

^ This edit was copy and pasted from comments I left, but if anyone wants to know more, please let me know! I am willing to give whatever information it would take for someone to be comfortable about this within reason. I completely understand not wanting to be fucked over.

Crunch vs planet

Hey all been working hard the last year to get more active and stay in shape, down 15 pounds and I am feel stronger then ever. Sadly had to stop going to the gym for a while due to getting busy with work and being sick. Have not been by my gym Crunch for a while but have heard there is a lot of machines down. I switched due to a friend I was going to the gym with semi regularly but he has since moved so I’m back to going solo again. I am considering going back to my original gym planet fitness. They are both super close so travel is not an issue but there are a lot of feels for planner and I want to make sure it would be worth the switch back. Any opinions?Mainly looking to loose some weight, add some strength, and maybe make some muscles appear. I mainly use machines as I am not super confident with free weights of any kind. Thoughts?

Bicycle was stolen

Hey everyone! My bicycle was stolen, and I was wondering if there’s anything else I can do besides filing a police report. It’s a pink Nishiki XL bicycle with a large frame. If anyone happens to see it or has any advice on how I might find it, I’d really appreciate it! Thank you!

obgyn/prenatal care

I just called my regular OBGYN’s office at Christie Clinic. They told me that they are at capacity for prenatal care and deliveries for people with my due date. They only see 40 patients at a time for care. They said I’ll have to go somewhere else and hung up on me. I am a bit distraught, as I didn’t expect to need to suddenly go somewhere besides the place where I’ve established and received care for years. I’m trying not to cry about it.

I need help deciding where to go in town, and any recommendations for specific providers (probably at Carle) would be helpful. I’m in my early 30s and it’s my first pregnancy. Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.

Is there a rule about this? I see people posting and reposting the same subletting/used mattress/game tickets for sale repeatedly like r/chambana is their own personal airhorn.
