Does anyone know of somewhere local that offers a day course in blacksmithing for a small-ish group for a bachelors? Want to do something novel where we get to take home something we made and can remember the day by
Hi all. I'm looking for a specific candy which was sold many moons ago. It was in the shape of a banana, with a strong banana flavor. I know you can find the gummy ones with sugar coating, that is not what I'm looking for. The ones I'm referring to had the texture of those milk bottle candies.
I think about these candies all the time. I swear I'm almost at the point where I'm dreaming of them at night. To be fair, this was around the 90s/early 2000s so I'm not too optimistic anymore.
Anyone have any ideas what they were called or where to find these?
For their 2027 musical production, Cape Town G & S will be staging a new lavish production of Oklahoma! in the Artscape Opera House from 7 to 15 August 2027, accompanied by a full orchestra.
Rodgers and Hammerstein's first collaboration, remains, in many respects, their most innovative, having set the standards and established the rules of musical theatre still being followed today. Here the evergreen songs including: Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’, People Will Say We’re in Love, The Surrey with the Fringe on Top, Many a New Day, Out of My Dreams, and the powerful title chorus, Oklahoma!, as well as vibrant dance numbers and a charming story, have been triumphantly blended into one of the masterpieces of musical theatre.
The show will be staged and directed by Jonathan Walker-Kane from the UK, with musical direction by Alastair Cockburn and associate Levi Alexander, and choreography by Roxy Levy and Lauren Hamly-Wise - all seasoned and highly experienced theatre practitioners in their respective fields.
This is a community theatre production – which means participation is entirely voluntary and there is no remuneration. The reward is the joy of performing in a world-class theatre with a full orchestra; sharing the stage with like-minded enthusiasts and making new friends and memories; and working with a team of passionate professionals in creating a top-class production for which Cape Town G & S is renowned. To take part in this production, you will need to become a member of the Cape Town G&S Society. This ensures you are covered by the society’s insurance throughout rehearsal and performances.

Note: I am not personally involved in organising this production, but I have participated in several Cape Town G&S productions over the years, both onstage and backstage. It is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to get involved with a professional-level show in their spare time. People with other creative skills such as sewing or painting are also very welcome to contact the production team.
No remuneration is payable for any performers, crew or creative team members as this is a community theatre production. Most people have full time jobs or studies. Rehearsals are evenings and weekends.
I studied at abbots college between 2015 to 2018 and the three years I spent there were the worst years of my life. I am a foreigner, from Angola,I struggled with anxiety when I went to study there and I got out of there completely traumatized, the students were awful, most of the white boys and girls were racist and they excluded me and made weird comments about me, a lot of the other foreigners did the same thing, they were also bullies, also a lot of them were smokers, having to engage with people who do drugs and smoke was awful, the smell was gross. I literally got out of that school with PTSD.I don't recommend this school to anyone who cares about their kid's wellbeing. The teachers also act like they are blind to the bullying. Everyday was torture in that school.
Hey all! Traveling to Cape Town this week and trying to debate the best way to get around the Winelands. We want to have a more customized wine trip so want to pick the places rather than happen upon them like on the Wine Tram.
Is uber black a reliable option? Or better to hire a private driver?
I would like to know if there are any lift clubs / carpools going from Durbanville or Kraaifontein to Strand and back during the week. My wife and I recently got married and she moved in with me in Buh Rein Estate, but needs to still attend to her business in Strand during the week.
Hey people, was wondering if anyone happens to have Star Lord's helmet from guardians of the galaxy, more specifically the marvel legends one. With Halloween coming up, I've been looking for it, but cannot find it anywhere at all. Thanks!
Can someone please tell me where online I can check the official coastal LPG gas price per kg. I'm sick of getting ripped of by independent vendors. Exchanged a 9kg this morning and was charged R350 which I believe (if I found the correct price online) is too much.
Thanks.
PSA EDIT - Cape Town is zone 1A, which puts the max price per kg for October at R37.08 from the gov website, but fuelsindustry.org.za puts the max LPG price per kg at R34.56. Go figure.
When I tip, they sometimes seem confused (especially if I am using a card), and when I don’t, I feel like i am disappointing them.. I never know what to do.. what do you do?
As per the title. I have a fishing licence and my own gear etc. I am looking for places where I can safely park my car, do a 5-15km hike, setup camp next to a river/dam/ocean and then spend the rest of the day/night fishing (would be catch and release as I don't eat fish) and then return the next day. I would like to do solo overnight hiking and fishing in other words. A place that is safe please.
Hi folks, we will be visiting from England soon and I wanted to clarify some things about visiting the SAN parks please. I have visited the website but am still unsure - Is the park all fenced off? You do not appear to be able to get tickets online, are there just toll gates on the road? Do you have to pay in cash? What if you are walking (such as in the trail from Langebaan)? Thanks if you can reply!
What it says. Would Rascals be an ok place to watch the Liverpool/ Chelsea match on Wednesday? Only reason I ask is that I see the pub is popularly a Man Utd pub.
And if there's any other options, that would be great
Hey. So I have my own kayak and would like to know if it is possible to launch it somewhere along the canals of battery park in the waterfront? I always see the ones you can rent there.
I cant find anything online so thought I’d ask here. I assume there might be some permits involved? Any info would be appreciated thanks!
Would the new Cape Winelands Airport increase property values, or could it actually decrease them?
My family owns a couple of properties in an area very close to where the proposed new Cape Winelands Airport is supposed to be built. I'm leaning towards selling, but my parents disagree. They believe we should hold on to the properties and wait for their values to appreciate once the airport is developed.
From what I've seen, the average asking price for houses in the area is around R2.5 million, with a few properties listed at R3 million, although I'd consider those outliers. Obviously, asking prices aren't necessarily what properties actually sell for.
My question is: How confident can we be that the airport will actually increase property values in the surrounding area?
I understand the argument that a major infrastructure project could attract businesses, create jobs, improve accessibility and stimulate economic growth, potentially making the area more desirable. However, wouldn't living close to an airport also come with drawbacks, particularly noise pollution, increased traffic and potentially reduced quality of life?
Could these negative effects offset the economic benefits, especially for residential properties located close to the airport?
With the holiday season approaching, will it negatively impact my 'street cred' even more than it already has? Or should I just change it to a Cape Town number plate and be done with it?
Greetings, I have been suffering from a lot of acne & Pimples (from age 15 to now 23), does anybody have links to affordable dermatology. I don't have a medical aid.... but I'm willing to spend up to R2K if it needs.
