The moderation team recently published a Draft Resolution, which was open to feedback.
However, a commenter (image linked below) stated that Rule 5, banning AI use and allowing moderator discretion to stop vibe-coded AI apps meant to make a quick buck constituted moderator overreach beyond the mandate of the original poll, as it (the poll) only accounted for AI-generated images and videos. In response, I removed what I believed to be an obviously vibe-coded app.
I responded that many of these apps with vibe-coding for UI/UX or some functions are already on the sidebar, provided the developer is active with the community and the content itself is made under the supervision of an actual human being.
Therefore, I am taking the temperature once more to clarify.

After taking the temperature and listening to the results of the general vote (please read the comments as to why these specific policies have been chosen), the current policy will be enacted. Users will not be retroactively penalized for making content with AI, and those posts will not be removed.
These policies are subject to change as per community feedback, but we will go with them for now.

Since the Hakka have mostly been pushed out of our native lands, and China has become a lot more unified, and the Hakka are so successful.... Is it basically over now? Have you seen any remnants of the tension in your lifetime? Have you heard anything from you grandparents or great grandparents about the Hakka and/or their conflict with us bun dei yan?

Been looking at different Canto learning lessons for myself, and sometimes I find Jyutping hard to comprehend. I learned Pinyin growing up for Mandarin, and that seems easier to understand and pronounce. So I was just wondering if I am the only one who thinks this.
Do you guys look at "English pronunciations" (like "fun gao" for sleep) to learn the pronunciations? What do you guys find the most helpful?
Thank you :)

What is the best way to communicate to patients that I am an advanced practice nurse who can assess, diagnose, and prescribe independently?
I see 護理醫生 wu6lei5 ji1sang1 and 執業護士 zap1jip6 wu6si6 used, but I'm worried patients will think I'm a doctor or just a regular nurse when I use those terms.

I spoke a lady from Shenzhen who never heard of the term Guangfu or 广府话。 The way I understand, Yue 粤语 is a pretty broad set of dialects spoken in Guangdong and Guangxi, Guangdong hua/ Gongdong wa 广东话 is the term generally used for Cantonese, and Guangfu refers specifically to the dialect of Guangzhou and surrounding areas. Do you guys use the term Guangfu?

WHAT other type of fees are missing?
How do you say "Walking out the door tax" (the amount of money that just disappears when you step out your house in places like nyc)
hush money = 揞口費
Tv license fee = 電視授權費
提款機手續費, ATM 手續費 = ATM service charge
換匯手續費 = foreign transaction service fee
取消手續費 = cancellation service fee

I live in California and my parents and uncle/aunts came to the US in the 80's and 90's. Apparently in this area many of the stores here were called Price Club before they merged with Costco. So some of them still refer to it in a Cantonese pronunciation of Price Club.

I live in Toronto where there’s a big community of taishanese people. Istfg my family is so messed up, with 70% of them having some sort of gambling addiction. My parents are divorced because of that plus the fact that my dad was verbally abusive. Every other Chinese friend around me ,from different cities ,don’t seem to have this problem. They have rather peaceful/educated families ( especially the ones speaking mandarin). One of them even told me that all the Chinese immigrants come from educated families as he thought every Chinese person came here with work visas. U was lowkey offended at his ignorance because this couldn’t be further from the truth. In my family, everyone works at restaurants and grew up dirt poor. I only were able to get outta China cuz my mom sacrificed herself and married a deadbeat dad to get a visa.

From the feature films of 2009-2015, the Cantonese release of every Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf film across Hong Kong and Macau used to premiere side-by-side with their Mandarin counterparts, usually months apart after its release in the same year. 7 years later after its hiatus, it has somewhat deviated from this tradition as the Cantonese version of this film only premiered back in 2025 at the ICFF Youth 2025 in Canada as “Dunk for the Future”, 3 years after its release on February 1, 2022, as the same thing later went with its 20th anniversary film “Bright New Dawn”, which also premiered in ICFF Youth 2026, a few months after its premiere on July 26, 2025.
I would like to know your thoughts on this for anyone who has saw this show :))
