ICC ICJ participation - Keeping Canadian Politicians Accountable

r/warmongersCanada

Unlike the US, Canada has ratified the Hague act. As such, its politicians can be PERSONALLY liable for any support whether direct or indirect of war crimes.

Start a petition or work with an intl law firm to crowd source proof (use FOIA requests etc) and then submit a case to the ICC and ICJ for these politicians.

You could even make this a volunteer run exercise by law students under the supervision of a team of lawyers (minimize costs) to get this done.

Make it a sticky in this sub and build a website so others can submit proof, testimonials etc

Let's talk about how we go about this and take concrete steps to moving forward with an action.

A new parliamentarian has been elected in Israel. His name is Moshe Feiglin. His views? "Every child, every baby in Gaza is an enemy. We need to conquer Gaza and colonise it. And not leave a single child there. There is no other victory."

Creating More Social Programs Is Key To Crime Prevention Vs More Law Enforcement?

• Upvotes

Question to ask you all. Do you think having more social programs. Supports, Better economic opportunity for the general population. Is the key to crime prevention. Vs just hiring more police officers? building more correctional centres. The key is to have available support and a balance life support for all those in society?

why or why not?

A lesson from British Columbia

Almost all of us on this subreddit and overall in the leftist space are extremely political and many times also philosophy junkies.

We have read a lot and we are deeply engaged in all that is going on.

A lot of people and families in our cities, provinces, nation, and world are NOT.

There are so many people and families in BC that have no idea of the insane scandals that have went on with the BC Conservatives and the spin off factions in the last few years or going back even further. This is the same nationally/globally.

Some don't even know the difference of voting in provincial/federal elections....

Being a leftist is about public awareness/education building on countless topics: Labour Movement, Environmentalist Movement, LGBTQ+ Rights Movement, Women's Rights Movement, Civil Rights Movement, Peace Movement, Alter-Globalization Movement, and so on.

It's about building Class Consciousness.

That being said I also believe we need to focus more on specific grassroots organization and action on simple to digest topics: Housing Reform, Specific Workers Rights Advancements, Clean Rivers/Lakes/Oceans & Protecting what is left of the Old-Growth Forests, Anti-Domestic Militarization/Surveillance, and so on.

Things people and families can easily see/digest.

I hope to see the Communist Party of Canada, Revolutionary Communist Party of Canada, and others in the Socialist/Communist/Anarchist and Fellow-Traveller space feature this strategy going forward as well.

(This is not to say that theory is not extremely important)
