Discussion The insta monkey store sucks
Ok that's an exaggeration, it's actually a great concept and I enjoy it, even though a trading system between players would be flat out better in my opinion. Anyway here's everything that I currently dislike about the insta monkey store:
The challenges are far too fucking easy.
Anyone can open the game, not even look at the store, play a random hard standard game on a map just to get a medal that they're still missing, then come back to 2 or 3 challenges completed.Challenge difficulty progression.
Even though every challenge is easy as hell, you can see that the challenges for lower tier insta monkeys are considerably easier than the ones for higher tiers or the final box. This is stupid. I am missing way more random tier 1s in my collection than t4s and getting a new t1 in the store is just as good as getting any other tier from the perspective of someone who doesn't use insta monkeys and just collects them (which is most people playing this game). The monkey money drain.
This is the cost of nk not being able to come up with anything difficult to do in this game. Obviously if we all we had to do was complete the challenges that we currently get, we'd just be getting insta monkeys effortlessly every 2 weeks, so an extra requirement to collect those rewards had to be added. If the challenges were hard enough to alone justify getting the insta monkey that'd be nice. The final box dilemma.
This issue exists because of the previous one. It is annoying to have to waste 3850$ monkey money on the last box just because 1 of the 8 insta monkeys there happens to be new and you don't want to wait another 3 years to get it.The fixed rewards.
Every single insta monkey in there is predetermined and the same for every account. If I open every crate and none of the instas are new, that's a part of the game that I have no reason to engage with for another 2 weeks. This is fine, but it'd be nice to have at least one box not be predetermined but rather unique per player and guaranteed new. Possibly with a challenge that is also unique per player so they can't just search up a solution and with a significant difficulty spike in said challenge.
TL.DR: Make challenges harder and remove the need to waste monkey money.
