Mod post How to set user flair on desktop

From the front page of the subreddit, on the right side below the "title" of the community (circled in red) *Please forgive my terrible circle, I can't draw with a mouse.*
If you hover over it, this icon will show up. (dumb design i know)
When you click on the pencil Icon, This panel will show up. You will then select a flair.

Make sure "Show my user flair on this community" is toggled on as shown or it will not work.
Those who Identify as a "girl" will select the "girl lurker" flair.

The guide for old.reddit users is essentially this paragraph:

For users who prefer old.reddit.com style, you will need to briefly change your user preferences to use the new reddit theme and follow the above guide. After adding your flair, you can revert to old.reddit.

Also, perhaps: (This may be unique to old. or affect both, unsure)

If you encounter "error 500" when commenting on a post in , please ensure you set your user theme.

If anyone in the community is able to create a better and more concise explanation of how to do this, feel free to modmail us and I will co-ordinate with you to have this pinned in the community.

Thank you!

Mod post A reminder

We are keeping this a positive helpful space.
What does this mean? It means critiques and comments that are not immediately positive in nature are things YOU, the poster/commenter must view in the light of this: is it helpful? does it fit the situation? is this some tough love and if so who are you to give it? if you are being adversarial or confrontation just because, just keep it pushing. If not, we will mod the comment, you will receive a deletion/mute/ban or whatever else we feel appropriate.

Refamiliarize yourselves with our rules.

For Girl lurkers, this is a male positive centric space. critiques and supportive comments are welcome, HOWEVER, keep in mind you are a guest, our tolerance here for rude, adversarial and needlessly argumentative comments is effectively zero.

For the recent posts concerning LGBT, read rule 7. We do not tolerate transphobia, we do not tolerate homophobia, we are not that space. If you are transphobic or homophobic, it is a violation of several rules and will likely result in a ban.

Thank you to the literal thousands of commenters who are contributing helpful, insightful and otherwise positive comments, we appreciate your presence.

Advice Wanted - Everyones Welcome Wife cheated and won’t stop begging for sex

I am 29 m she is 27 f we’ve been together 10 years and have a 7 yr and a 3 yr ok now to start off, this story is damn near a comic strip, so bear with me. This is my first ever post . In 2022 I decided I’d never drink again. And I went on the path to better my life. I did pretty well: got 7 raises at my job, reached my workout goals, kept the house clean, and felt respected. I had never felt so proud.

On the flip side, my wife had never felt more alone. All she did was drink and argue. I was working 10-hour shifts and going to the gym and cleaning. Her mental health got so bad I started letting her mom, who lives close, take our daughter because I didn’t want her to see it. Well, fast forward some time, and she’s constantly nagging me to drink with her again and have fun with her again, and I refused for at least a year and a half. Here comes 2024 I’m in the car while she’s driving, and someone hits us and it injures me badly. I was already hurt, but that was the cherry on top. I have to leave my job because I can’t swing a weed eater anymore and have tons of doctors’ appointments. Well, at the imaging appointment, I was told I had a 4.4cm cyst on my right kidney that was complex. This shattered me

so I started drinking again. This was early 2025 So then I start focusing on all of that. It takes a while, but the whole time I’m not working or going anywhere, and she’s accusing me of cheating, hiding my phone, isolating me, following me around— just crazy stuff. So then comes my nephrectomy. I have it, and before and after, I spent a majority of the time in the car crying because I didn’t feel like I could be in my own home. Well, she’s still accusing and fighting and gets arrested for DV because the neighbors called on her right after I had major surgery!

Well to make a long story short she didn’t get in trouble her family is helping with our kids and she’s begging for sex everyday while accusing me even though she cheated on me just recently there is so so much more but heres my dinner 6 dollar McDouble meal.

EDIT wife knows about the post and is upset thanks everyone for the engagement I’ll be back on in a bit

No Advice - Everyones Welcome I am divorced at 24. He married me under false pretenses.

February of 2023, I got married. Valentine’s Day actually. It was a courthouse marriage in Colorado. I lived in Wisconsin at the time. So it was a wedding/honeymoon combined.

Before this, we dated and he seemed to be such a great guy. Not any big complaints.

Get married and move in together. We both have jobs. I’m paying the rent, and some other bills and he payed the rest. I have my college degree and he doesn’t, so he works jobs that are lower paying than me, but that’s fine. I don’t judge anybody on what job they work. About month 5 and he quits his job. Says management is bad. So I take on all of the bills. He gets another job, we split them again. This is a cycle that eventually turns into me paying for everything because he is so unreliable.

We move from Wisconsin to SATX. Mind you, I was making a hell of a lot more money in Wisco than I did in SATX. But, it’s still enough to cover bills and then some.

I eventually tell him that I just can’t pay for his car note anymore ($700 a month) and that he would need to pay it. Mind you, it’s ONE bill. He wakes me up in the middle of the night to tell me it’s been stolen. (He smokes in the kitchen. There’s a window to show our parking lot and where we park our cars). Go through insurance etc. My insurance calls me and tells me that it’s been repoed and they almost filed charges against me. I’m so pissed. But, I still stayed because that’s my husband we can work it out.

A few months later, I find out he was cheating on me. And that was the last and final straw. I collected my evidence gave it to him, and he was in front of me on his knees on the kitchen floor begging for me to not leave him.

I offered him a plane ticket to wherever he wanted to go (Orlando FL) and a suitcase with his clothes and belongings. Mind you, I’ve pretty much paid for all of that.

We were cohabitating for around 3 weeks while he waited for whatever he was doing in Florida.

During that time, he told me that he never loved me and was with me because I took care of everything and he knew from the beginning I would.

Almost 2 years later, I’m so much happier than I was in that entire relationship.

The future may seem bleak to you in that moment. But I promise you. It gets better.

EDIT: this is over a two year period. I definitely shortened it down for yall.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome At 25, I wanted it to be my last birthday. At 26, I’m grateful to be alive.

Spider-Man Themed Carrot Cake! 🎂 🕷️

It’s actually insane how much your life can change in just one year.

When I turned 25 last October, I genuinely thought it might be my last birthday. Honestly, I was planning for it to be.

My life was a fucking disaster. Sugar daddies, drinking, getting arrested and going to jail, being sexually assaulted, crashing my car. I was making terrible decisions, getting hurt, and somehow finding new ways to hit rock bottom.

I was exhausted. Living in an RV. I hated where my life had ended up, and I REALLY couldn’t imagine a future where I was genuinely happy. I seriously considered ending my life.

Fast forward exactly one year. I just turned 26.

I have a stable, well-paying job at a company I’m genuinely proud to work for. I have my own apartment that I worked my ass off to afford. I pay my bills, buy my groceries, and have built a little life that once felt completely impossible.

And somehow, I met the most amazing man in the world. We’re engaged now. I get to come home to someone who absolutely loves me… someone I want to build an entire future with. We literally just signed a lease on a house.

And my 26th birthday? Probably the most peaceful birthday I’ve ever had. No chaos. No breakdowns. No wondering whether I should even be here. Just a birthday cake, the man I love, and a life I finally want to keep living.

I’m not going to pretend I’ve magically fixed everything. I still have my demons (alcohol is a bitch.) I still struggle. I’m still figuring shit out. But looking at this birthday cake makes me emotional because the person blowing out the candles at 25 didn’t want to see another birthday.

And the person blowing them out at 26 couldn’t be more grateful that he did.

EDIT: I just want to say thank you to everyone who took the time to read this and also comment nice things. Ive been a long time commenter and lurker here and I always wanted to post something… but whenever I did they were way too long, and I deleted them minutes later out of embarrassment lol. 🫶

americano and a pumpkin loaf

yesterday, when I first saw her outside the bar we were going to I said she was pretty and complimented her hair. she looked me up and down and called me a whore and nothing else. not even in a flirty type way she just blatantly said I looked like a whore. and she never said anything nice about me the rest of the date.

I was wearing jeans a black t shirt with a leather jacket. it fits me well because i've been losing weight again and i felt confident in it, I thought she'd appreciate it

still hurts my feelings.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome Living out of my car and got a reality check today.

Post image
5.8k Upvotes

Burrito I got in San Francisco a few weeks ago.

I (22M) just moved to Salt Lake City a few weeks ago and have been living in my car while trying to get on my feet. It’s not the first time I’ve lived in a car. It’s been rough to say the least. I’m sleeping in my car with 53 miles left and no money for gas until at least Wednesday (hopefully). Onto the reality check.

I was in the library today and I saw a homeless woman crying. She was talking about how it’s getting cold and how she really couldn’t do this anymore. About a minute later a homeless man starts shouting profanities at her and was just straight up being an asshole. It made me feel terrible that I couldn’t do more to help this woman besides talking to her. The staff came over and gave her resources to at least try and help her. The dude fucked off somewhere and I haven’t seen him since.

It just shook me to my core and I told myself right then that I never want to be in a position like this again. I have to do everything in my power to change that. I’m lucky I at least have a vehicle to sleep in. It also means that I’m one step above sleeping rough (hate using the phrase that way but I can’t think of anything else to call it rn). The positive news is that I got at least 3 job offers and 2 interviews tomorrow. I’ve been looking on FB marketplace at cheap rooms for rent and I’m praying I can get into one by mid November.

I rushed moving out here and looking back on it I should’ve waited longer. It’s not so much how I got here but what I do in this situation that really makes or breaks me. I’ve learned my lesson that I will make sure I never have this happen again.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome My neighbor is trying to ruin a good man's life over rejection

Post image
1.9k Upvotes

I've known this woman for 3 years now, she lives across from me. We had an intimate friendship for a while, caring for each other and each other's cats. We also talked regularly about her relationships with men. I myself was taken during the time we hung out. She was never into me and I was never into her, just stating this for the incels that roam this sub from time to time. Completely platonic friendship.

She started seeing this Palestinian man shortly after we first met and got so obsessed with him. Not kidding, seeing the movie Obsession all these years later made me realize that she had similarities in craziness with the obsessed Nikki character in that movie. The man she was dating on and off for years is in his naturalization process for citizenship right now. He was upfront with her from the start, telling her he is broken inside, coming as a refugee after seeing his family and friends getting bombed in Gaza, and he can't find the heart nor the time to be in a monogamous relationship with anyone right now.

They were on and off dating, having a casual time, but she was always trying to coerce him into a closed relationship. They verbally fought a lot about it and always had some weeks where contact was sparse or where they had no contact at all. In these times she talked about him like he is the worst person, when usually she was always talking about him in the highest regard.

I met this man a lot because he was always there for her, night and day, when she felt shitty and alone, when she needed help in her apartment or with anything else for that matter. He helped me fix my bike once and I didn't even have to ask, he just saw it was broken and he showed me how to fix it. This man cooked for me and my flatmate, made Palestinian breakfast and full meals. I kinda love this man, even if we don't hang out together and have no active friendship.

After years of adjusting to our country and working all the time, he finally found it in his heart to let someone in. But it was not my neighbor, and she freaked out a lot about it. She treated him like shit, screaming at him, throwing stuff, insulting him, talking about him as if they were married and he cheated, although he always explicitly said that he does not want closed monogamous dating and he needs to feel free.

Recap from 23' to beginning of 26' over: half a year ago she asked me how the procedure of suing someone works and where she had to go. She knew I had some troubles in the past and had some contact with the justice system, so I told her what I know. A couple days later she dropped the fact to my flatmate that she is suing this man for sexual misconduct, because she "wants to make him suffer for not choosing her", her words.

I broke all contact and went to the man immediately, telling him about what she told me. Months went by, I just saw him occasionally on my commute. Some days ago his lawyer contacted me, asking me dozens of questions about their relationship and what I would be able to testify.

This man could lose it all and she is playing with his life. I know she had a rough childhood and was abused by many people, including men. I am just so furious that she is choosing to let it all out against him, although this must be one of the few normal men in her life she has encountered.

Last time we talked briefly, he told me that we cannot talk or see each other right now because of the legal process coming up and "we will see if we will ever talk again afterwards" meaning, he might get deported.

This just sucks.

Food is Syrian Baklava and coffee with milk.

Advice Wanted - Everyones Welcome My mom has brain cancer and I don't know if I can keep going without her

Post image
53 Upvotes

I'm 28 and I suffer from depression. When I was 13, my grandmother died, and that's when the idea of suicide first showed up. My psychiatrist told me that loss triggered it. It has been with me ever since. I've tried to end my life twice, once in my early twenties and once last year. Both attempts failed.

My dad died of prostate cancer, which later spread to his bladder, and they had to remove it. It was in 2023 or 2024. I don't remember well, even though I lived through it. I think my brain is trying to forget it.

A year and a half ago, my mom was diagnosed with kidney cancer. She had surgery and was doing well afterward. I was working at the time, but last October I quit because the job was exhausting and the pay wasn't good either. Since then I haven't found anything. I have a degree, but nobody calls me back or hires me, and I feel like I'm not good at anything. I do some odd jobs, but they aren't enough. My mom supports both of us with her rental income and her pension, and I try to repay her by helping with whatever she needs, but even so I feel like a parasite and a failure.

I was diagnosed with autism as an adult, but my mom refuses to accept it because she has a very mistaken idea of what it is. My depression is treated with medication, though I feel like it doesn't help much. I have older siblings, but I don't get along with them. With some of them, barely.

In April this year, the cancer metastasized to her brain. For a while she lost movement on her entire right side. During that time I bathed her and changed her, and it hurt me deeply to see her like that. She's a little better now. A couple of days ago she had a biopsy and was hospitalized for a week. The results come out in two weeks. I feel, and I believe, that it's a very aggressive cancer and that it's going to end up killing her.

If my mom dies, I don't know what I'm going to do. I can't find work and it stresses me out enormously. I don't know whether all of this will end well or badly, but the idea of suicide has always been there. I don't know if, when she dies, I'll be able to finish it. Maybe it will happen because of that, I don't know.

The only things keeping me alive right now are my mom and my two dogs. I can't have them with me because we moved into an apartment because of my mom. I visit them, but it hurts that they're not with me. I'm writing this while crying, and I cry alone, because I don't want to look weak in front of her.

Advice Wanted - Everyones Welcome Broke down crying thinking about my little boy growing up

Post image

I have a 6.5 month old, saw a video about how fast time goes, I think the caption was "I hope I'll think about this moment when I'm 80". It was a dad cuddling with his kid, and as a new father it just made me start bawling. How do you get over the fact that time is passing so fast? My little man used to fall asleep on my lap after a bottle, his little hand around my finger. I can't even think about the fact that he's already 6 months old, my memory is shit after the military and there's so much I've forgotten already. It hurts in my chest to look back at pictures and think how I already barely remember the last 6 months.

Here's some ribs, thanks for reading.

**I've been trying to reply, but Reddit is not saving my "user flair" and keeps deleting my comments. Sorry.***

***Thanks for all the responses. The top response about approaching it with curiosity is what I’ll do. She has an overnight business trip tomorrow, I’ll talk to her when she gets back.***

Dinner is crockpot chicken cooked in Chinese hot pot base.

Wife has a couple of our girls out at soccer right now.

I dug through our closet looking for a child’s missing electronic. I didn’t find it.

What I did find was about a dozen empty liquor bottles that I’ve never seen before.

She‘s an incredible mother, killing it at work, our whole life has been ministry to our communities for decades.

I don’t think she’s a drunk per se, but the hiding of this makes me very concerned.

Advice Wanted - Everyones Welcome My Father hasn’t stopped asking if I’m going to “start dating yet”, since my younger sister finally told our family about her relationship.

Post image
• Upvotes

A bowl of hot noodles w/ jalapeño, and cheese infused sausage in it. A toasted sourdough sandwich w/ cheddar cheese, turkey, mustard, & some celery on the side. Topping it off with some “fluffy coffee” (I think that’s what it’s called) w/ a dash of cinnamon on top.

I M24 haven’t really been interested in dating yet since I’ve been focusing on work, health, both physical and mental. Both parents respected my decision until recently, when my sister F23 announced her happy relationship with her partner. We are all very excited for them, especially since it took her a while to let us know due to her being worried about our Dad’s reaction (he can be a bit controlling). To all our surprise our Dad took it very well…. Or so we thought, after a week I’ve noticed small comments from my dad like “Blank your 24 right? I was 22 when your mom and I had you.” , “ You talking with anyone?” and when I go out for my walks I occasionally hear “Stay safe, and don’t be afraid to talk with some girls” that last one is really strange in my opinion. I unfortunately understand why my dad wants me to date, he wants grandchildren due to his medical history ( I don’t want to go to deep into it) he’s afraid that the rate I’m going at he won’t be able to meet them. I love my Dad, and respect him since he’s sacrificed so much for me and my sisters… but how can I explain to him that things are very different from what he grew up with? He grew up from a culture where they have children at a young age, and plenty of them, but I’m barely able to afford my half of the utilities at home while also balancing saving for the future we both (I do want what he’s telling me to do, just at my pace) want. Appreciate any advice since I know I’m not the only person going through a similar situation.

Advice Wanted - Everyones Welcome I just ended my 5 year relationship

Dinner: Raising Cane's Box combo with lemonade

My girlfriend (27F) and I (28M) have been together for about 5 years now (moved in together for the last 10 months). We were semi-long distance having to drive about 1.5 hours to see each other prior to moving in. Right before move we had a pretty big argument where she felt like I wasn't pushing myself enough in my career. I was working but after coming home from work I would generally just go to the gym, watch TV or play some games before going to bed.

A bit of a backstory of the two of us. She is a business owner and has a very entrepreneurial background with most of her family also owning businesses or being very business minded and I work full time in the healthcare field. I don't make crazy money but enough to get by for myself fairly comfortably. I have thought about opening up a business of my own or doing some sort of side hustle but I want to enjoy my youth a bit longer.

Anyways, from this argument we were about to break up since I felt that we were too different in terms of our values and goals. But before we did she came to me and said that she was wrong and that she would rather have me for me rather than lose me and find someone who matched her "entrepreneurial mindset" that wasn't me. So we decided to give it another shot and for the past 10 months I have been trying to reinvest myself into our relationship. I found it difficult since previously I had made up my mind that we were incompatible so we'd have to break up and I also missed being close to my friends/family (I know it's only 1.5 hours but it just feels different and lonely).

After about 6-8 months I find that I am getting back into the relationship but it's extremely slow. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago when we're talking about an international vacation that we were going to with my family and she asks me if I can buy her ticket for the flight. I had to tell her that I wouldn't be able to since I just bought both of our flights and accommodations for one of my friend's weddings coming up. This caused us to devolve into another argument during which she brought up the whole me "not making enough money" thing since if I was working towards opening a business or some sort of side hustle, I'd eventually be able to make enough to take care of her and our family. I asked her what had changed between now and 10 months ago since she had told me that she would be happy with just having me for me. She told me that she thought she would be okay with it but as she sat on it for longer she didn't think she could be happy with that lifestyle. So, I told her that I felt like she was forcing me into a lifestyle that I don't really want for myself but she tells me it's more that she is trying to push me outside of my comfort zone. She feels that I may be waiting for an opportunity to come to me rather than creating my own opportunity to pursue a side hustle which is why I don't feel ready for it.

We were never really able to come to a middle ground for this conversation so we decided to just sit on the conversation and then revisit it another day. After about a week of sitting on it I came to the conclusion that I didn't want to be forced to pursue something that I don't have enough drive to do at this moment and that I missed being back in my hometown with my friends and family.
She thinks that this is something that we can work through but I'm not sure if is but maybe I'm just giving up too easily.

TLDR: My girlfriend of 5 years wants me to be more career oriented than I am and I broke up with her because I thought our values/mindsets were too different. I'm just not sure if I'm giving up too early in our relationship or just not seeing the her side.

Advice Wanted - Everyones Welcome Scary Stories.

Post image
18 Upvotes

2 weeks ago I took my 3 son’s(14,9 and 5)and 2 of my oldest’s son’s best friends camping. 2 Nights just dad and the boys. On our first night while we hung out around the fire we decided to tell spooky stories. Everyone went and I was the last to tell mine. I being the great storyteller than I am might have gone a little overboard. I scared my 5yo with my story. He never mentioned anything to me during the trip. Since we’ve gotten back on certain nights he comes into my room and asks if he can sleep in my bed because he’s having scary thoughts about the story that I told. I feel terrible for scaring him and have reassured him it was just a made up story. Hopefully I Can help him get over this with time. Any of your guys’s parents or older siblings scare you with any stories as a child?

Meal: Cast Iron Carne Asada Nachos.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome Got bombarded…

Dating… what a not-so-wonderful thing.

Let me preface by saying that I was not in a committed relationship. I put myself out there to date, just to test the waters.

About 2 months ago, I matched with someone who is cousins with a woman I used to work with. We never had a conversation about becoming serious in those 2 months.

About a month ago, a neighbor asked me to have drinks with her; found out she was open to dating, so we’ve hung out a few times. Never had a conversation about becoming serious with her, either.

Both walked through my back door at midnight tonight. They both demanded an explanation to which I simply told them that dating is dating, and that I was not exclusive to either. I ended up asking them both to leave (for which they did after I threatened to call the cops), then blocked their numbers and social media (both of them still showed single on their profiles, mind you). Why is dating so terrible these days?

Dinner is French bread pizza. One with banana peppers, one without.

No Advice - Everyones Welcome I'm getting divorced after 13 years

Post image

Dinner is a tofu, black bean, rice, lava sauce, and spring mix burrito with extra filling on the side.

I (32M) don't even really know where to start. My marriage broke 4-6 years ago due to my mental health declining from chronic daily migraines and a manic-psychosis induced month of abusing psychedelics. I could not support myself and it took years to get back to a state where I could function close to that of a normal adult. She took care of me through all of it and I've really turned my life around through therapy, effective medication, and finding work that I love and pays surprisingly well.

We couldn't overcome the damage I had done despite our best efforts. She built up so much resentment that she was, very justfiably, constantly being triggered by my less than ideal behavior. I had undiagnosed ADHD until this past year and learning about the symptoms only does so much if you are not able to overcome them and make progress toward changing those behaviors. As things got worse between us, I had a harder and harder time feeling safe communicating with her effectively because I would trigger her so often. It got to the point where she would verbally dress me down almost once a week and bring up years of my failures as justification for why she was so upset with me.

At first, those situations may have happened once or twice a month, but in the last year and a half the frequency picked up to where it would sometimes happen twice a week. I know I have so much to work on and I carry the vast majority of the responsibilty for our marriage falling apart. I was angry with myself for so long and I couldn't show up for her in the ways she needed me to. There was so much dysfunction from both sides and looking back, it probably would have been better if we separated at least 4 years ago.

We were together but felt so lonely for years. I think that's the worst kind of loneliness where you just wish your person could be there for you and vice versa.

We finally decided to separate and I'm writing this in my apartment that I just moved into this last weekend. My life is a complete mess right now but I'm unpacking and organizing every day. I think we made the right decision to separate but I had to say goodbye to our kitties and that broke me into pieces. They were my emotional support for so many years but we decided she was better equipped to take care of them.

I am monitoring my emotions and moods very closely and my mood tracking is all over the place. I'll be proud of myself and excited about the future only to be miserable and exhausted later that day.

I wish someone would hold me and I could hold them. I'll just have to figure out how to get through it because I'm living on my own for the first time in my life, and I need a lot of time to figure things out and find out who I am now. I'm just so lonely and I've been so lonely for years.

Meal is salmon, blueberries, and mcdonald’s chicken sandwich and fries

I have never been interested in cars in my life, (i’m 22) always made someone else do my oil changes, tire rotation, repairs, etc, but yesterday I decided on a whim i’d learn how to change my oil myself via a youtube video. It was so interesting and compelling to me, I ended up watching DIY part replacement videos, read and watched things about how the engine works, alternator, clutch, rotation system, pretty much everything I had no idea how worked before. The most enthralling to me was a video of someone replacing the break pads, and a tutorial on how to drive stick shift. I was thinking about it all day yesterday, and when I went to sleep I proceeded to dream about cars all night. In my dreams, I knew how to work on cars, could drive a manual and even had a manual race car I was fixing up. Now this morning, I can’t stop thinking about getting an entry level job at a car work shop or tire repair place. It’s become a sudden dream, one I never even thought about before, seemingly overnight. Now I don’t know if i’d actually be any good, but since having that dream, I have been fixing up my car. So far i’ve replaced my tire, replaced my side mirror and windshield wiper blades, and i’m about to change my oil by myself for the very first time. Is it worth chasing this dream? Even if I don’t make a career out of it, i’d still like to know everything I can possibly learn about cars and how to fix and repair them. I’m going to the library today to find some books on car repair, car parts, and the mechanisms of cars.

eta: I’d love if you could recommend some sites or books I could buy about car repair.

tldr: Suddenly obsessed with cars/car repair after a day researching and a dream but unsure what to do with my new obsession

I don't really like complaining, but I feel like I've gotta say something. Sorry if this is a bit incoherent, I'm not used to talking like this, just gonna yell into the void a bit.

Sorry if its too dark in the second pic, my eyes hurt rn. Chow is ramen, peas, and Hogan's Heroes (my favorite show)

I moved from a town of roughly 3500 to a college town of 40k (plus students) to finish my degree. 4 months in and I don't think I've gotten a full night's rest. My grades have been slipping a bit since I got this job, maintaining a 40hr work week as an auto service tech and having 18 credit hours this semester (3 of which are entirely or half-online) is leaving me mentally and physically tired almost every day.

Idk if I'm just being a bit of a wuss, but I dont really have time for relaxation and hobbies anymore, shit's expensive, I can't sleep (either mentallycan't sleep or neighbors yelling and banging on things), my apartment is constantly leaking water into the walls and my kitchen cabinents/counters, I have bugs and lizards in my bed (and in the rest of the place), and I dont think I can maintain comfortable living if I dial back my work hours.

Im young, I'll say under 25, so I don't have much time living out on my own so far away from my folks- is this just life, something I need to expect? Idk I feel like my complaints are somewhat self-inflicted, but I'm a biased source lol.

If youve got questions, suggestions, or comments, feel free to drop them. If this doesn't make sense, tell me.
