Saw Buddy tonight in Knoxville. He is fun, and amazing.

I've seen him a few times, but 20-40 years ago, I'd love to see this personification

It’s hard not to be in awe now and I am. But when I saw him one night in the 90’s at Tipitina’s, sweating his ass off, throwing his head back and forth with his Jheri curl gel flying everywhere, smacking us in the face as he totally ripped on the guitar like a madman? Well now, that was something I’ll never forget. His voice and energy has always been amazing. But back in the day, he was an absolute monster on the guitar.

I've seen videos of his recent shows, and I would really enjoy the "laid back" Buddy. But, you're right, he used to really rip. Still works the polka dots

I was so lucky to see Buddy open for the Rolling Stones. It cemented him as my favorite blues artist. “if you have the blues, you wanna play em, but if you play em, you don’t have em anymore” paraphrased.
