I liked painting this cat. Her green eyes really stand out against all that black fur. I stayed true to the whole scene and didn't change the background. Painting black fur without losing detail is tricky; I had to build up the layers carefully to keep her shape visible. I hope I did her justice.

This is Mephisto and somehow he got out of his collar in the closet, which he usually doesn't go into. Right in time for spooky season!

Those golden eyes cut right through all that black fur, absolutely stunning. Black fur is always tricky to perfect, even after hundreds of pet paintings, but this one came together well.

I kept the pose and expression true to the photo, and I just softened the textured wall into a smoother background. I hope I did her justice.

Rhea is the smaller kitten, binx ( yes I know the most stereotypical black cat name, I did not name him, If I could I’d name him cheese or pickles) he’s the bigger one.

This is Poppy, also known as Poppyflower.
She has OCD and licks her belly fur off so she has a few flowers she wears 24/7.
