Bonjour :)

Y’a t il une différence de caractère en fonction de la robe du birman ( blue point, seul point, cream etc) et entre une femelle et un mâle ?

Des conseils pour accueillir un birman chez soit, besoin particulier ?
Merci 🐱

In our experience (having had 12 Birmans over the years) there are some differences.

Blue Torties are definitely the ones with the most “character”. Torties of any breed can be a bit more crazy, but we find Blue Tortie Birmans to be the most vocal and naughty. We’ve had four and each have been unique and sometimes a bit cheeky.

Full colour points tend to be quieter. We’ve had chocolate and seal point and they’re normally less naughty and more affectionate. Our Cream Point boy is affectionate, very laid back but quite aloof.

We’ve recently had Lilac and Chocolate tabby kittens who are both very loving, but that might be more to do with them being hand reared for the most part.

We’ve not noticed any enormous standouts in terms of colour having a lot of difference. We’ve have sisters from different litters who are completely different in terms of temperament despite bother being Blue Tortie.

Another breeder told me that Lilac’s of all the solid point colours are the most crazy!

I got mine as a strapping 3 year old into a studio apartment and other than stocking up on allergy pills (I’m allergic to him and he’s allergic to air) he is militantly anti personal space and prefers sleeping on the face of the most allergic person (which is now my poor husband).

I’ve had a female Tortie point and my current is a seal point male and they’ve both been snuggly, shadow kitties. My first one was less sleep on the face of the most allergic person because she didn’t sleep on my brother’s face. They’ve both been too smart for their own good and get into things.

My lilac point might as well be a dog.
