Edit: Mods I'm pretty sure this is #835 actually due to a typo in the last tag

While participating in the Finish The Ride event this past Sunday, I witnessed this 💩 parking job. The event helps fundraise for road safety awareness and improvements. Obviously LA County Registar and Recorder could use some awareness themselves. 🤡🤡🤡

Greyers Oak Park across the street from Bike Oven. 3706 N Figueroa Street. Bring offerings for the alters or bring a photo of a cycling member who has passed.

Title, I'm 25, work odd hours, and don't really have any friends. My main thing is just biking, I don't own a car so that's just how I get around.
I've seen group rides but they're either far (downtown LA), odd hours, like 6pm on a Tuesday, or very professional with high end bikes and kit.
I'm just a casual rider with a gravel bike, only know SFV and with that really just San Fernando (I just work and don't really go outside all that much tbh.)
I want to start a casual club similar to trash panda cycling, where I can explore more, meet people and hopefully make some friends and just do something to break the cycle of work, taking care of family, etc.
I want something maybe Friday or weekend casual, gravel rides in the Angeles national forest ( a place I haven't been yet and want to explore) and a breakfast joint.

TL;DR Anyone have a direct drive smart trainer they are willing to sell on the cheap(<$350)?
Broke my collarbone in a crash a few weeks back. I'm cleared to be back on the bike which I need desperately for my mental and physical health. I have a basic magnet, wheel-on, dumb trainer but it isn't smooth and is mind bogglingly boring. I am hoping one of the virtual platforms will be more engaging for recovery and training over the next couple of months.
I have looked at sales and Facebook marketplace but wanted to ask the community and see if anyone has one they would be willing to part with. New (unless maybe AliExpress) is out of the question with my doctor bills.
Features I think I want:
Modern ish direct drive trainer (2019-now)
Compatible with virtual training platforms
Virtual shifting is a nice to have (would allow my wife and I to swap bikes easier in the future)
Ideal price $175-250 Realistic price $250-350

I'm starting to take my bike on Amtrak every Sunday into LA for recreational bike riding, and I was wondering if there were any recommendations for bike trails, or certain streets that people love to zip through

Question. Why is it not allowed to post a video on YouTube with licensed music and yet...
...on FB Marketplace, one can list a stolen bike without any issue?
I'm sure FB is aware of this, but it's a pretty simple solution. Every bike owner should be able to register their bike -- through serial # -- on FB Marketplace. When someone goes to list a bike, and the serial number belongs to someone else, either they can't list it, or have to face consequences.
Also, this can only apply to bikes listed over a certain amount. Anyone selling a high-end road bike should have no problem retrieving/revealing the serial number for the sale. This system does not have to apply to a 50 dollar kids bike.
In Los Angeles, there are few places to sell bikes. FB Marketplace, OfferUP, Craigslist, and that's pretty much it. If you've stolen a 7K road bike, you won't get much from the guy on the corner, and pawn shops -- via law -- can no longer accept goods without an ID; and so the few I called said they don't accept bikes anymore. Most bike shops also do NOT buy bikes anymore.
So, if the thief is left with few avenues, let's simply create road blocks. I dunno, feels like a simple solution to prevent thousands of bikes from being stolen.

LADOT is soliciting feedback for the redesign of Sunset Blvd. The current design is still half-measures: yes to dedicated bike and bus lanes, but bike lanes still on the outside of the roadway, still parking (right next to a bike lane, meaning dooring is still a risk), and still free left turns which puts bikers at risk. Too many interactions between bikes and cars. And local businesses are now (stupidly) threatening to sue because they'll only get one lane for parking. Improving bike and bus access to Echo Park and Silver Lake will be safer for pedestrians and increase pedestrian traffic for businesses.
Please consider filing out their feedback form here: https://ladot.typeform.com/sunset-chavez and demanding LADOT stop it with the half measures: no parking on Sunset, safer bike and bus lanes, and no uncontrolled left or right turns.

This is in a little over 13 months, since I started keeping track on a fun website called https://wandrer.earth/ that pulls from your Strava data. Inspired by the og Greek Cube who's at something like 85% of all road miles -- maybe someday I'll get close to that, but I'm pretty stoked on 10% for now!
Most of this is commuting, running around making videos about infrastructure and such. I'm so blessed to have a gig that allows me to bike around a lot. This city is cycling paradise!!!
Also, it's not lost on me that this is pretty much all the basin. San Fernando Valley, I'm coming for you soon!!

I have a Domane SL 5 Gen 4, and I refuse to go back to tubeless--I don't like dealing with sealant.
I'm not even convinced sealant will help with nails, screws, construction staples, or glass shards that litter our class 1 bike paths.
I had Panaracer Gravelking SS+ 700x35, but got a gash. Thankfully my tube had a pinprick puncture, but replaced anyway.
Getting new Elitewheels Ent 3.0 carbon wheels tomorrow, but don't want to completely cancel out getting carbon wheels with Marathon Plus tires, which I've been told are bombproof.
Think Conti Contact Urban 35x622 (700x35) will work fine?

Long shot, but my bike got stolen from my garage and it was listed up until this morning. If anyone sees it or hears anything, any tip would be appreciated

For my bicycle commutes in the streets of L.A. because too many drivers have told me to ride in the gutter or on the sidewalk even though my ride is a class 3 e-bicycle. Thoughts?
