Fertilizer Help

Post image

I just had a flagstone walkway put in (mid-October in middle Georgia). Should I fertilize to try and get the Bermuda to fill in as quick as possible over the next month before winter? I have some 10-10-10 on hand, would that be fine? This is a house I bought in July where the grass was in rough shape so I have been slowly getting it turned around over the last few months.

You should stop fertilizing 6-8 weeks before the first expected frost. If you do it right now I would do a light feeding of like .25-.5 pounds of nitrogen. When was the last time you fertilized? That will affect your window too.

My last was about a month ago but was just 0-0-25. Was thinking a quick hit to drive a little growth, but if it would do more harm than good I could just stick with a good watering schedule

I wouldn’t now if you haven’t already. Mine is going dormant in south texas. Hit it early next spring and try to perfect your watering and mowing and I think it will be just fine.

Yeah I ended up spreading annual rye with some topsoil to try and temporarily hold it all together

Pound it with N. It’ll be fine.
