Hi guys, I've been attempting to learn the banjo for almost 10 months now and tracking my progress on youtube all the way since day 7.

For those of you who’ve been playing a while, what did you wish you’d focused on around the one-year mark?

Hello Reddit, does anyone have tabs or learning videos for this theme from Wander over Yonder. I'm going to cosplay Wander and this character was the main reason I started learning banjo. The problem is I cannot find anyobe playing any song from this cartoon, if someone has tabs or links on learning videos can you share with me please?

started working on this song a year ago now! this is the first song i've learned to sing along to the melody (first one i sang with chords was wish you were here). not sure why but it felt right to me for this tune :)

anyways definitely slipped on a couple phrases in the break, but wanted to document the progress and would love to ask yall for some constructive criticism for the singin n pickin. still trying to find my voice in both so any advice would be very much appreciated!

Help Learning 500 Miles

I’m pretty new to banjo still and been teaching myself. I’m looking to learn how to play 500 Miles the Peter, Paul and Mary version. I’m having troubles finding any media to help me learn(as a beginner), like tab or easy to follow tutorials. I would be really appreciative if someone could help me out.

I’m not sure the version I’m looking for is in double C tuning but already have figured out that and where I’d like the capo. But I’m lost otherwise

Any help?

Wanting to go to old time jams-

I’m picking up chords in c and g fairly well, how do I even start in an open jam. I can’t hear notes yet, what does one even do to get started?

For anyone interested, I have a rather unique banjo coming up for auction at Freeman's in early November. It really is a work of art. Hopefully someone will appreciate it!

Help Should I buy a cheap beater banjo for college?

hey yalls, I’m currently a senior in high school down in Missouri. in august, I’m moving up to central Wisconsin about 8 hours away for college, but wanna keep playing my banjo. and unfortunatelyl 8 hours is too far of a drive every day for college. but I’m kinda worried. it’s a WL250, so it’s a nicer banjo. I don’t want someone bumping into it or the wood to warp or something, plus I plan to take it with me camping/to my required summer outdoor field experienc. am I being irrational or should I buy something like an AC-12?

New to banjo and saw mixed messages on how picks should fit. Does this look right? If not, what should I change?
