How can our consultancy keep client-specific policies without forking the entire workflow for every single account?
I’m an automation builder at a small agency and I created a problem for myself that I really need to solve. I joined right when we started the agency, and when we were onboarding our first few clients, it was fastest just to duplicate our core lead routing and data sync workflow into a new workspace. Just copy that, plug in the client’s credentials and turn it on. We’ve grown a lot faster than I think any of us were expecting, and it’s become painfully clear to me that this approach was a mistake. I’m now maintaining almost 25 virtually identical versions of the same workflow.
I’m sure you see what my problem is here. Any time an API changes or there’s a bug to patch, I have to manually replicate these edits across every client instance. I’m kicking myself for ending up in this situation, but here we are.
What is the best path forward from where I am to architecting shared core logic with individual configuration for each client?
