First FC Augsburg Match Questions

Hi All,

Canadian here planning to snag last-minute tickets to the FCA vs. SCF game this Saturday (will be my first European football match ever). I've combed through a lot of prior posts regarding match etiquette, getting to WWK from Munich, etc. but I did have a couple specific questions:

  1. I'm planning to buy a ticket in either the S or T block to give myself a comfortable view of the whole field, but I did want to be close to the FCA fanbase (I'm really loud and would love to cheer / chant with everyone). Is there a difference between the two blocks? Should I be considering a different block closer to the Ultras?

  2. I'm not a big jersey person, but would like to buy some FCA merch while I'm there. Is there anything that FCA fans normally wear / buy? Might just grab a cap or scarf or something otherwise

  3. I'm planning on exploring Augsburg before / after the match. Any restaurants / sights that you all might recommend if I'm just there for the day?

Thanks!

Hey,

Can't help you with 1., but with the other two

2. Scarf, cap, jacket is the "standard" you can get. If you are on time, there is a fan-shop right at the WWK Arena, which is probably crowded before the match. Otherwise right in the city between Moritzplatz and Rathausplatz you find another fan-shop.

3. To explore Augsburg you can use the tram (especially line 2). Probably you will use them to get to the WWK Arena from Munich. If not, i would recommend it. Regional train to Augsburg, change at Augsburg Haunstetter Straße (use the downwards stairs at the end of the platform) to change to the special Arena-Tram-Line (service starts at around 13:30). Sadly it is too cold for a nice day at the Biergarten, so iwould recommend the restaurant "Das Wirtshaus unter dem Bogen"

Line 3, not 2. The arena line uses the same line as line 3 does.

Regarding 1: S and T have the best view, but there wont be many people cheering or singing with you, because its a seated Block. You will have a nice view of the Main Fan Block tho. So it could Happen that when you cheer or Jump up that people ask you to sit down again.

Seating tickets are usually very chill, there won’t be much cheering but you have a great view over the field and the fan curve.

If you wanna go ham buy a standing ticket bring two beers one for you and for your neighbor. Safe way to make a friend in Germany lol

Also since you are Canadian, watch some hockey games in Germany, especially here in Augsburg. Very different atmosphere from your usual NHL game :)

  1. Get yourself a ticket in the Stands (K-O)

  2. Scarf is the best option, you‘ll need one to cheer in the fan area
