Full Mario 64 in Mixed Reality! Running in real 3D (no stereoscopic crap) natively at 90FPS and also running on my desk! 😋
Again, Opus 5.5 + PICO CLI combo made it quite straightforward.

Such a bliss to play an oldie at 90 FPS in 3D.

Disclaimer: I own an original physical copy of Mario 64. This project is not associated with Nintendo or PICO.

Glasses w/ HUD Rokid Color 🔴 Light Engine Size 🟢 Waveguide Glow 🔵 Video Playback + Ring Interaction

Thumbnail

Take a look at the detail pics in this gallery. Starting with the tortoise shell frame. Then comparing the Rokid Color full color light engine in the nose bridge with the monochrome light engine in the Rokid Glasses 2. See the light from the waveguide of the Rokid Color. There's a pic showing a video played in the glasses (but I didn't see independent through-the-lens footage yet). And scrolling with the ring (is this comfortable?)

And then the details about Rokid Glasses 2 with improved hinge and flexible temple tips. Dual chip architecture, etc. These details for Rokid Glasses 2 will probably be the same for Rokid Color.

Product Details:

Rokid Color

Rokid's first full-color AI smart glasses model, weighing 55 grams (excluding nose pads). Like the monochrome model, it uses a single light engine to route binocular images to both eyes, utilizing a custom 0.16cc JBD microLED full-color projector roughly the size of a mung bean. The display supports 16.77 million colors and covers 167% of the sRGB color gamut, allowing the glasses to render photos, video playback, color-coded navigation markers, and full-color app interfaces rather than text-only prompts.

4,999 RMB ($750 USD) for the black version (2GB RAM + 64GB storage)

5,499 RMB ($825 USD) for the tortoise shell version (4GB RAM + 64GB storage)

Deliveries scheduled to begin in April 2027

Rokid Ring

The Rokid Ring is a smart ring designed as a quiet, hands-free input controller for Rokid's smart glasses when voice commands or temple touch controls are impractical. It detects micro-gestures including single taps, double taps, thumb-to-index-finger swipes to switch tracks, finger rotation to scroll through app carousels or adjust volume, and finger snaps to trigger the camera shutter. It also allows users to treat any flat surface as a virtual touchpad with two-finger scrolling support. Beyond gesture control, the ring integrates sensors for heart rate, blood oxygen, body temperature, and sleep tracking.

1,699 RMB ($255 USD)

Discounted price of 998 RMB ($150 USD) for existing Rokid eyewear owners

Rokid Glasses 2

An updated monochrome green waveguide smart glasses model powered by a dual-chip architecture combining the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1+ Gen 1 platform and a 6nm BES2800BP co-processor. Compared to the first generation, the optical engine is 30% smaller, the temples are a third thinner with a 22% wider hinge angle, and new grating coatings reduce rainbow artifacts by 60% and external reflections by 70% while maintaining 98% light transmittance.

The glasses feature a 12 MP camera with a 1GM5P glass-plastic lens capable of 4K 30fps and 2K 60fps video, RAW14 capture, pre-shot framing previews, and low-light video noise reduction. Audio hardware includes AAC speakers with Dolby Audio, four omnidirectional microphones, and a bone-conduction microphone. Battery capacity is increased by 25% to 263 mAh, paired with an optional 599 RMB ($90 USD) second-generation charging capsule and case (1,835 mAh combined) that recharges the glasses to 90% in 30 minutes.

For vision correction and outdoor use, the frame supports magnetic custom prescription lens inserts (covering nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia) and magnetic clip-on sunglass lenses.

Software updates add 89-language real-time call translation with voice cloning, automated meeting minutes, all-day memory recall, and desktop agent integration via Rokid Prism.

The glasses ship on November 11, 2026

3,699 RMB ($555 USD) — or 3,199 RMB ($480 USD) after Chinese national subsidies — for black, and

3,849 RMB ($577 USD) — or 3,349 RMB ($502 USD) subsidized — for tortoiseshell.

App Development Math and science education on SPECS

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A few early math and science experiences I’ve been building for SPECS: a double pendulum, a hyperbolic paraboloid, solids of revolution, and refraction (Snell’s law).

The cool part isn’t just that it’s in 3D, but that you can reach out and mess with the math directly. There’s research showing that gesturing can significantly help people learn abstract math and apply it to new problems (Goldin-Meadow et al., 2012; Seccia & Goldin-Meadow, 2024), so AR glasses feel like an especially compelling medium for this.

Built with WebXR + Three.js, running directly in the device’s browser.

Glasses w/ 6DoF AR experience getting built in San Jose

Hey AR people! I'm convinced that AR can be used in so many way cooler ways than what people usually do with it, and i've gotten tired of waiting for someone to do the thing with my platform that I think would be the coolest possible thing... which is a geolocative narrative - something that unfolds through time and real space, making an ordinary place special... a little bit like an escape the room, a bit like a tour, a bit like an art gallery, a bit like immersive theater but its all IN AR ! I'm not even close to done, but i'm doing the whole "build in public" thing- see what you think and tell me! This is currently built for phones but i'm hoping to be able to build a version for specs.

Self Promo Custom Kernel Operating System from scratch for XR/AR/VR (XenevaOS)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Most XR devices today run Android or Linux with a AR/VR layer bolted on top. We're trying something different. XenevaOS is an operating system designed for XR from the kernel up. We wrote our own very own custom kernel from the ground up for it.

This video is our first look at its 3D environment. You can see regular productivity apps (spreadsheet, web browser, terminal) placed as windows around you in space.

Our long-term goal is standalone glasses and headsets that work as everyday computers, not just devices for games and media.

It's early. Right now its running in a virtualization setup, but XenevaOS does have support for real hardware/bare-metal based on ARM Architecture.

So theoretically, the OS could be run on any device with an unlocked bootloader.

UI/Userspace work is still primitive and the project as a whole is still early and rough in places. That is what we're gonna work on next.

We would love to hear your thoughts on our project and what would you want an XR-native OS to do that current headsets get wrong?

Codebase is Open Source, linking it in the comments along with our website...

Note : Video has been slightly sped up for better viewing experience.

Glasses for Screen Mirroring Morning sun, balcony, iPad on the table, VITURE Beast on. Best way to start my day. ☀️🕶️

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Filming through these glasses with a phone is harder than it looks, so go easy on me. That's my iPad, the way I see it every morning now.

Someone asked here in r/augmentedreality if XR glasses end up in a drawer after a week. I've had the VITURE Beast for almost a month, and mine didn't.

But not for the reason I thought.

I was sure I'd use it for a multi-monitor Mac setup. That was the thing I was really looking for as I work remotely or from home most of the week. The first time I set up two screens in SpaceWalker (VITURE's app for virtual screens), I lost my mouse pointer lol. Couldn't find it.

Then when I tried three screens at once was even worse.

I kept turning my head, looking for the pointer, then forgetting what I was doing.

Also the biggest bottleneck for me: The FOV is 58°, near the top for these glasses, but for me it's still not enough to work across several big screens.

One screen worked much better.

Then one morning I plugged it into my iPad Air, just to try. It's a 2 or 3 years old iPad Air so not the latest Pro with the M processors.

I connected to it a first-gen Logitech Keys-To-Go, the super thin one a lot of people hate (I love it), and a tiny Bluetooth mouse. Then I turned on Stage Manager, the iPad's window mode, which I basically never use.

And it just worked. I'm serious!

One big screen in front of me, apps super easy to switch between and along with the keyboard and mouse, multitasking is super fast and fun... It felt like the iPad was made for this.

Now that's my morning routine, almost every day.

Coffee on the balcony, news, tech videos, email, X, notes, checking what Claude or Codex did overnight. Around an hour.

I usually stop because I have to get on with my day, not because I want them off my face.

And I actually look forward to it.

Occasioanly I take the very same setup to a cafe instead of my laptop.

AirPods in, some good music and I can really do some serious work (of course, it does depend on the type of work you do - heavy editing is not for the iPad as we all know).

A couple of people smiled at me typing at a screen they couldn't see, but no weird looks etc.

I keep telling people Apple is "hiding" something.

iPadOS already feels ready for glasses like this.

The other surprise was 2D to 3D on YouTube. I thought I'd try it once and forget about it.

I watched videos people filmed at a concert I couldn't go to.

It's still a phone video from the crowd and nothing jumps out of the screen,
but with the depth and the size I kind of felt I was there.

I still go back to it. Getting to the 3D option on a phone or iPad is confusing though.

On the Mac it's way easier.

What I don't love:

  • Fit. If you're interested in any XR glasses from any of the known. brands: Before you order, find out your IPD (the distance between your pupils). VITURE asked me for mine before they sent the glasses and I had no idea. I tried a few websites and apps and got a different number each time. Then the nose pads and the angle of the arms change what you see. I still get a small reflection at the bottom and some rainbow colour around white text. I think a lot of the "super clear" vs "blurry" comments about these glasses come down to fit.
  • Sunlight. Dark scenes in a film are hard to see outside, even at full brightness. Dimming the lenses helps, but then I can't see the balcony around the screen, and I like seeing it.

There are a few more things I don't love, and a few more that surprised me. Like a treadmill app I use with the glasses. What it does with them is fascinating, I didn't see that one coming. And an iPhone app that gives you a desktop on the glasses, kind of like Samsung DeX.

All of these and a lot more are in the full review on my newsletter, User Mode.

Warning: it's long. I got a bit carried away with the testing and the photos, but it gives my honest opinion on how is it to live with these glasses for almost a month and what I found I come back to and what I don't.

I'm keeping the Beast for a few more months, and I'll write about what I still use and what I stopped using. That one goes out on User Mode first.

VITURE sent me the glasses. Nobody paid me or saw this before I posted.

Happy to answer anything about the setup & the glasses themselves here in the comments.

Glasses w/ HUD Smart glasses are converging on one shape, and the lawsuits have started.

Thumbnail
youtube.com
2 Upvotes

Finding first: in my caption latency test, the MemoMind One landed 1.38 seconds behind the speaker, same room, same TV, same clip as my last glasses episode. 47 grams, 16 hours, no camera, green monochrome text in both lenses.

The bigger story is the lawsuit. Another smart glasses company holds design patents and says the MemoMind One looks too much like theirs. A design patent covers how a thing looks, not how it works. A German court sided with them early, and MemoMind paused shipping to Europe for a few months. The case is open.

My take in the episode: every company in this category wants the same thing, glasses that look like glasses. The more normal they look, the more they look like each other. Expect more of these.

Disclosure: my episode. Not sponsored. MemoMind sent a review unit. They did not see this episode before you did.

Once every pair looks like glasses, where does the differentiation go: the display, the software, the price?

Self Promo Built a vision-based poker assistant for Meta glasses — free testers for consensual practice

Hey everyone! I’m a developer building vision-based AI apps: products that understand what you’re looking at and help you act on it.

I’ve built a working poker-assistant prototype for Meta glasses and I’m looking for people to test it for free and give honest feedback.

Interested? DM me and I’ll send you a link to try the app. Please mention which glasses and phone you use so we can check compatibility.

I’d also love to connect with builders working on computer vision, wearable AI or real-time assistants. What other “look at something and get help” use cases would you find useful?

Testing is for practice or games where everyone agrees to assistance, not undisclosed use in competitive play.

Glasses w/ HUD Upgraded from the original Kickstarter glasses to G2. Pretty big difference

One of the original Halliday Kickstarter backers, and while the first glasses had their issues, I actually liked them more than some of the reviews suggested. The DigiWindow was a cool concept, but the viewing angle could be awkward, the audio wasn't great, and the software felt pretty limited. Still thought the idea had potential though.

Decided to give the G2 a shot and honestly, it's a huge improvement, especially the hardware. The new waveguide display is so much easier to look at, the speakers are noticeably better, and the glasses just feel much more refined overall.

The software has come a long way too. Halliday AI now has live search, which makes it a lot more useful for looking up current information. Notifications have also improved with support for apps across my phone, rather than being limited to a few. I've been using the dashboard quite a bit for calendar reminders, weather, and quick messages.

There's still room for improvement, especially with the AI assistant, but compared to the first generation it's a pretty big leap. The original felt like an interesting experiment, while the G2 feels much closer to something I'd actually wear every day.

AR Apps AR virtual try on Application

I have been working on an AR try on app but the product on the user isnt that seemless and smooth
It has this this delay in following the users body
idk if it the problem of camera fps or gpu or anything

Does anyone have idea how can i improve the depth of the virtual product and better rendering of it on users body

Also need to find a way to develop these 3d models, so is there any specific extension that would work better or anything.

AR Apps Easy Halloween handout

Hi all! I don't know where to start. I am looking for advice on a simple AR idea to hand out to the trick-or-treaters or have in front yard that parents can scan. The whole goal is to (1) have fun and (2) get people in our area exposed to AR. I appreciate any advice you have.

I assume people will have their phone with them. Or they can scan when back home too.

I don't want people to have to give their information. I don't understand yet if they have to download an app.

I will also include a card with steps they can follow to create their own AR item also. Trying to make it simple to get the interest going in our area. Thank you!

Buying Advice (VITURE) Samsung Users

Hi all! I purchased 3 of the XR glasses (Pro 2, Beast x2). The Pro 2 works fine except mine came used (purchased new from their storefront), but that's not the point of this post. I initially only bought the Beast to trial them side by side to see which I'd keep, unfortunately I will be returning all 3. Both of the Beast glasses (purchased at different times) resulted in the same issue, the screen dims once plugged into my phone (Samsung Note 10+ 5G Android 12 One UI 4.1) yet there's no display. It doesn't even register as a display and instead as a headset. I tried all the steps for troubleshooting listed on their site, soft reset my phone, factory reset the hardware, tried a different device (Steam Deck which it DOES work on), different cables, recentering jic, and finally tried with the Pro 2 (works).

I contacted support and initially I was impressed, but as others have mentioned, it's not really existent after all. There wasn't any additional troubleshooting to do, they just asked for the firmware of the glasses. I was then connected to Mario, who was even less help. So true to my promise, I'm making this post to warn others to do a bit more digging, unless you have free money.

This is a MAJOR bug and they aren't taking it seriously. I really hope this post doesn't get taken down, I really really wanted this product to work but after this I'm worried about purchasing another from their lineup. Buyer BEWARE. If you have the same phone or earlier, does the Beast work for you? Clearly I'm frustrated, my apologies for that being apparent. What are other XR glasses that are comparable? I've heard RayNeo, XReal, and Inair 2. Not sure which ones yet, but if anyone has tried them, please shared your feedback.

AR Apps [Release] vr2xr PC Studio — Open-Source 180°/360° 3D SBS VR Video Player + YouTube VR Streamer with Native 1000Hz 3DoF Head Tracking for XREAL One / One Pro (Standalone Windows .EXE)

Thumbnail
gallery
9 Upvotes

Hey r/AugmentedReality! 👋

After seeing u/skarian's awesome work bringing vr2xr to Android and u/SamiMitwalli's research into the XREAL One Pro's raw USB-C telemetry packets, I wanted a zero-hassle way to watch VR180, Fisheye 180°, VR360, and 3D SBS videos (including YouTube VR!) on a Windows PC using the internal 3DoF head tracking built right into the XREAL One / One Pro—without needing Nebula, SteamVR, or third-party drivers.

So I built and open-sourced vr2xr PC Studio, and compiled it into a single standalone Windows executable (vr2xr_PC_Studio.exe) that you can just download and double-click!

🔗 GitHub Repo & Source: https://github.com/f1nal-b0ss/vr2xr-pc

📦 Download Standalone .EXE (No Python Needed): https://github.com/f1nal-b0ss/vr2xr-pc/releases/latest

🖥️ Running App Screenshot (vr2xr_PC_Studio.exe)

Referring to the Screenshot: Left/Right eye (1920×1080 per eye / 3840×1080 Full-SBS) spherical VR180 projection dome, the 3-second auto-hiding fullscreen progress bar & pose telemetry HUD (Yaw, Pitch, Zoom, Zero View), the YouTube VR URL loader bar, and the live ws://127.0.0.1:8765 XREAL One Pro IMU control deck on the right.

✨ What It Does

  • 🎯 Native XREAL One / One Pro 1000Hz 3DoF Head Tracking: Reads the raw USB-C NCM/RNDIS telemetry stream (169.254.2.1:52998) directly from the glasses. Includes Smart Firmware Auto-Alignment that scans incoming sensor packets for Earth's gravity vector (~9.81 m/s²) so it works across different XREAL firmware versions automatically, plus fast 250-sample stationary gyroscope drift calibration.
  • ▶️ Built-In YouTube VR180 / 3D Streamer: Paste any YouTube VR180 or 3D SBS URL directly into the bottom loader bar and hit Load. The built-in local proxy (yt-dlp) buffers up to 4K H.264/VP9 video + synchronized audio locally—even if you don't have ffmpeg installed—bypassing browser CORS and 403 errors.
  • 🌐 4 True Spherical WebGL Projections:
    • VR180 Equirectangular Hemisphere (Standard 180° SBS)
    • VR180 Equidistant Fisheye (For raw dual-fisheye VR180 footage)
    • VR360 Full Sphere
    • Cinema 3D Curved Dome (110° virtual theater screen)
  • 🖥️ Unthrottled Pop-Out Glasses Display (3840×1080 Full-SBS & 1920×1080 Half-SBS): Keep your control deck on your main PC monitor while popping out a borderless 3D SBS window onto your extended XREAL display. Uses a background Web Worker ticker so Windows/Chrome never throttles your glasses refresh rate when the window loses focus.
  • ⏱️ Auto-Hiding Fullscreen HUD & Optical Zoom: Interactive timeline scrubber bar in fullscreen that wakes on mouse/keyboard activity and fades away after 3 seconds, plus 0.50×–3.00× optical zoom (mouse wheel), adjustable FOV (50°–135°), IPD convergence offset, reversed vertical mouse Y-axis toggle, and Free-Look mouse/air-mouse support (M key).

🚀 How to Try It in 60 Seconds

  1. Grab vr2xr_PC_Studio.exe from the GitHub Releases page (or run Launch_vr2xr_PC.bat from source).
  2. Plug in your XREAL One Pro / One via USB-C and open the glasses OSD menu (double-click the red X button):
    • Set 3D Mode (Full SBS 3840×1080 or Half SBS 1920×1080).
    • Set Follow Mode (Stabilization Off) so the glasses output raw IMU telemetry over USB-C.
  3. Double-click vr2xr_PC_Studio.exe — it automatically launches the local IMU + YouTube VR bridge and opens the player window.
  4. Look straight ahead and press Z (Zero View) to lock your forward center, then open any local .mp4/.mkv/.webm SBS file or paste a YouTube VR link!

⌨️ Quick Hotkeys

  • Z — Zero View (recenter head orientation)
  • R — Recalibrate stationary gyroscope bias
  • F — Toggle Fullscreen on Glasses
  • M — Toggle Free-Look Mouse mode
  • Scroll Wheel / + / - / 0 — Optical Zoom (0.50× to 3.00× / Reset)
  • Space / ← / → — Play/Pause & Seek ±15s

Everything is MIT-licensed and open-source at https://github.com/f1nal-b0ss/vr2xr-pc. Huge shoutout again to Skarian/vr2xr and SamiMitwalli/One-Pro-IMU-Retriever-Demo for the inspiration.

Let me know how it runs on your setup or if there are any features you'd like to see added next!

Self Promo [Developer] Dance Fiesta Fitness: short move and score prompts on Meta Display glasses

I develop Dance Fiesta Fitness at Artisan Reality. Alongside its Android dance routines, the app has optional Meta Display glasses prompts for the move, match score and what comes next. The phone offers the fuller teaching view: an animated instructor, named moves, rep counts and half-speed learning.

The interaction is a small HUD companion to a movement task, not a spatial instructor anchored in the room. That distinction matters when choosing what belongs in view: a short cue can be read during a routine, while learning an unfamiliar sequence still benefits from the instructor on the phone. Optional phone-camera coaching provides movement feedback.

Android includes five free minutes each week, with an optional one-time unlimited unlock. Glasses are optional. This is Meta Display glasses support, not a claim that all Meta glasses models have a display.

Glasses w/o Display Urgent for HeyCyan glasses, Do NOT update your glasses - CyanBridge dev

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hi everyone, it's CyanBridge dev here again. A user has warned me that the official HeyCyan app is forcing users to update their glasses and now everytime you power on your device, you have to send your MAC address to Heycyan Chinese servers for them to authenticate your glasses. Without this authentication you cannot take pictures or record videos. They used to have in the app a local auth, but disabled it recently.

If you are care about not sending your data and keeping your glasses working without sending stuff to Chinese servers (if you are in an area without internet it also won't work until you reach their servers), please DO NOT update your glasses.

I'll see what I can do about it, but I'll need a few days. if anyone hits this issue, please send me an email or a DM. I'm working on a new version with NPU support for 3x to 5x local AI speeds, and time for the model to answer should be around 2.5 seconds faster or a few more depending on your phone.

AR Apps AR Guitar

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi. I’ve built an app I call AR Guitar. It uses a ‘paper guitar neck’ and the camera on a laptop or phone to allow users to practise playing a guitar without actually needing a real one. The idea came to me when I was travelling a lot and couldn't take a guitar with me, so I've been working on this on and off for a few years. I've opened sourced it on GitHub and published the app to arguitar.com. It's all free, I'm just looking for people to use it and give some feedback for improvements and even whether it works for them or not. It works well enough on my mac mini with a webcam, and works best in song play-along mode where the chords can be close enough. That gives learners a bit of an easier into to playing a guitar than to hear those awful sounds when you get it wrong at first.
Anyway, have fun. It's all free and open source. https://github.com/CastleW/ARGuitar_WASM, https://arguitar.com
