Discussion How good is the story and pacing of metaphor?
Ive always wanted to try a persona game, but the 100+ play time and supposedly poor pacing has always put me off. Having recently looked into metaphor, it seems like the most appealing by far out of the persona games. I really really like medieval set games, my favourite so far being ffxvi, I really liked the turn based combat of ffx and e33 (and even ifs the combat isn't great/ similar, im happy to overlook it for the following), so my only concern is how is the pacing and the story. One thing the latter 3 games had In common was an amazing story, now I wouldn't expect metaphor to have quite as good a story as those, but is it still really compelling? Are there strong and frequent story beats, set pieces and plot twists etc. This brings me to the pacing, is the story always moving forwards? Does the story always compile you to keep playing and find out what happens? All of this is to say, is the story good and is it the main focus of the game, and is it paced well? Thats all, Thanks
Discussion What if Persona Q2 had an English dub?
I really love PQ2 (it's one of my favorite Persona games) and recently I pondered what it'd be like if the game got an English dub. I'd assume that ATLUS would want to use the more recent VAs for the P3 and P4 casts but there are some characters that either don't have English VAs or I think would get new VAs. So here's what I think the voice cast could be like:
- P3 cast would be the one from Persona 3 Reload
- P4 cast would be the one from Persona 4 Revival
- P5 cast would obviously be the same one from Persona 5 and its spin-offs
- Bryce Papenbrook as Theodore - This one makes sense because Bryce voiced him in PQ1 and P3D. While I prefer Travis Willingham's performance more, I think ATLUS would go for Theo's most recent VA.
- Ashlyn Madden as Kotone Shiomi - The VA for Miyazu Atsuta from SMT5 and Tangle the Lemur from Sonic. I love Ashlyn's performance as Tangle and I think her energetic vibe really fits Kotone. Also I don't think ATLUS would bring back Laura Bailey (Kotone's official VA), considering the fact that she apparently has a very tight schedule which I think is also the reason she didn't voice Rise in Persona 4 Dancing.
- Christine Marie Cabanos as Hikari - The VA for Shiho Suzui from P5 and Himiko Yumeno from Danganronpa V3. I think a mix of Christine's voice for Shiho and Himiko (Shiho's depressive vibe mixed with Himiko's childishness) would be the perfect fit for Hikari.
- Cherami Leigh as Nagi - The VA for Makoto Niijima from P5 and Rhea from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I know it would be weird to have a repeat VA in this game but I think Cherami's Rhea voice is what Nagi should sound like.
- Doug Stone as Doe - The VA for Dr. Light from Mega Man 11 and Gilbert from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I was initially considering to pick either Kirk Thornton (Igor's current VA) or Keith Silverstein (Shido's VA) but I don't really think they fit Doe all that well and while I don't think Doug is the perfect fit like the previous VAs, I think he would do a great job voicing him.
- As for the Movie characters like Yosukesaurus and Ribbon, I think it would be funny if they were voiced by their counterparts' original VAs (e.g. Yuri Lowenthal as Yosukesaurus while Yosuke would be voiced by Paul Castro Jr.) but realistically I think ATLUS would just use the same VAs as their counterparts.
Do you guys agree with my picks? Or do you think there's a better choice for any of the characters?

galleryDiscussion 100% completion time?
Hey guys. I finished Metaphor and 100%d it back in 2024.
Thinking of trying P5R, P4G and P3R.
For those who had already 100% them, how difficult was it compared to Metaphor? In terms of how strict the calendar is the combat difficulty? How long it takes?
Thanks in advance!

Just finished SMT IV, What should I play next?
Tried posting on the megaten subreddit so I'll try here...
As the title says, I finished SMT IV and I was wondering which megaten game I should play next. I was thinking of either playing soul hackers or strange journey but wanted to know which I should play first.

Discussion Next game i should play ?
So as the title says, which game should i play next ? I finished p5r, then ~2weeks ago finished p4g and i am currently playing p3r. I know it will still take me some time to finish p3r, but i would like to already decide so i could look out for a sale if needed. I’m a pc player and these are the options i have in mind.
1. Emulate p1 and p2(never emulated before so might be hard)
2. I will probably finish p3r around the time p4r drops so maybe jump directly in that, but then i would have to pay full price plus won’t be that long after finishing p4g
3. Metaphor refantazio
4. Another atlus game(i have smt 5 and catherine in my wishlist, but i’m open to suggestions)

Cathrine full body
I just got the extended version of Katherine and from what I’ve read about it everyone is supposed to be a bad person, so I’m just wondering for better gameplay experience, should I go with the evil options, like ignoring her messages and stuff? or should I try and reply like I would ?

Persona 4 Golden: My Thoughts and Whether You Should Buy It in 2026
Before playing Persona 4 Golden, I had never played a Persona game before. Someone recommended it to me, but I was skeptical because I wasn’t really into turn-based games. Eventually, I decided to give it a shot. I bought it on my Nintendo Switch for $20 because I was busy and wanted something I could play on the go.
And my God, what a game.
From the soundtrack to the combat and even the graphics, considering the game originally released in 2008, I enjoyed almost every second of it. I never walked away feeling disappointed. If I had to give this game a score, I would give it a 9.8/10. The only reason it isn’t a 10/10 is because it ended too soon. I genuinely didn’t want it to end.
The Story and Mystery
One of my favorite things about Persona 4 Golden is how it balances your everyday school life with the main story. You’re not just going to school and hanging out with friends. There’s also a mysterious investigation involving TVs, and as the story progresses, you become more and more invested in finding out what’s really going on.
As the story goes on, your curiosity about the TVs and everything happening in the story keeps growing. The game doesn’t reveal everything right away. Instead, it slowly builds up the mystery until you reach the climax and the final battle, which is just beautiful. The OST is amazing, and trust me, you’re in for a treat when you finally get there.
There were so many moments when I thought to myself, “Damn, I don’t want this to end.” The story kept me wanting to see what would happen next, and I became genuinely invested in the mystery and the characters.
The Combat System
Now, let’s talk about the combat.
Persona 4 Golden has a turn-based combat system, but there’s more to it than simply leveling up and unlocking new skills. You can fuse different Personas together, level them up, and unlock abilities. You also have to think about which Personas you want and what skills you want them to inherit.
Your teammates also learn new abilities as your friendships with them grow, and their Personas can eventually evolve. This makes the combat feel connected to the relationships you build throughout the game.
I really enjoyed the strategy involved in fusing Personas and figuring out which abilities would work best. You’re encouraged to experiment and think about your choices instead of just relying on the same attacks over and over.
For a game that originally released in 2008, the combat system is genuinely good, and I think it still holds up today.
The Characters and Friendships
Another thing I love about Persona 4 Golden is how you spend time with each character and gradually learn more about them. As you develop these relationships, you become so attached to the cast that you genuinely start to feel like you’re part of the Investigation Team.
From the funny moments to the sad moments, the intense and hype moments, and even the heartbreaking ones, everything ties together so well. You get so attached to these characters that, by the end, you don’t want the game to end because you’re not ready to say goodbye to them.
For me, this is one of the biggest strengths of Persona 4 Golden. These characters aren’t just people you fight alongside. You get to know them, spend time with them, and see different sides of their personalities. By the end of the game, it feels like you’ve been on an actual journey with them.
Should You Buy Persona 4 Golden in 2026?
Honestly, if you’re looking for a game with a long story, great characters, interesting character dynamics, satisfying combat, and a conclusion that makes the journey feel worthwhile, I highly recommend Persona 4 Golden.
Even if you’re not usually into turn-based games, I think it’s worth giving this one a chance. I went into it feeling skeptical, and I ended up loving it.
Persona 4 Golden is easily one of my favorite games I’ve ever played. I would even go as far as to call it one of the best Persona games ever released, if not the best.
And with Persona 4 Revival coming in 2027, I’m excited to see how a new version of this incredible experience turns out.
If you haven’t played Persona 4 Golden yet, I highly recommend giving it a try. You might end up loving it just as much as I did.
