Looking for streamer and packer

Hey everyone! We run a collectibles shop (think Pokémon, needohs) on Whatnot and we're growing. We're hiring for two in person roles at our studio in the Peachtree Corners, GA area. Awesome if you can do both!

Streamer
Has hosted live Whatnot shows before
Solid Pokémon TCG knowledge: sets, pull rates, chase cards, rough market values
High energy, keeps chat engaged, comfortable running breaks and auctions
Pay: 5% commission

Packer
Packs and ships orders after shows, accurately and on time
Knows how to protect cards properly (sleeves, toploaders, team bags, bubble mailers)
Detail oriented, since mixed up orders mean refunds and bad reviews
Pay: 0.30 cents per package + $1 per boxed prize

What we offer
Consistent show schedule
We handle inventory and sourcing
Room to take on more as we grow

If you're interested, DM us with which role you want (or both) and a little about your experience. An attached resume would be ideal!

Marketing Student Opportunities

Hi everyone!

My partner is graduating in may with a marketing degree in GSU. She did a 1.5 year internship with a senior living facility but they kinda dropped the ball in giving her the chance to add to her portfolio. Does anyone know of people hiring for a social media coordinator or even a retail job that could potentially provide that opportunity.

Thanks :)

help finding job

It honestly came to searching on here because the job market is so bad and the jobs i’ve applied for simply aren’t reaching out. Makes it frustrating when you came from a job that was great but I had to part ways from the company (no i wasn’t fired). Now that I’m back and searching again and have a well put resume (so i think) there’s nothing available. I do want to go back to school but I have no financial help so I need something again in the meantime so I can work towards going back to school. I’m looking for work around the upper atlanta area like Sandy springs or in Gwinnett county. I have 6 years of customer service experience and some leadership skills. I also previously studied business and psychology but never got the degree but like i said i do wanna go back to that. If you know of any place pls pls DM me or leave a comment under. I hope this can also help anyone else looking for a job in these areas too.

🚨 A WARNING TO MY FELLOW BARTENDERS, EVENT STAFF, AND ANYONE WORKING GIG JOBS IN ATLANTA, GA! 🚨

Please be careful about who you accept assignments from. And unfortunately, even getting things confirmed in writing doesn’t always mean the working conditions will be what you were promised.

I want to share something that happened to me recently because I genuinely don’t want another bartender or event worker to experience what I went through.

I work bartending events to earn extra income, and I’m very selective about the assignments I accept. I typically only accept events where tip jars or credit card tips are allowed. If tips aren’t permitted, I usually decline unless the hourly rate is higher—generally at least $25 or more, depending on the event.

This is how I make decisions about my time and my income.

Recently, a staffing company called Open Story Life advertised a bartending opportunity paying $22 per hour. Before accepting, I specifically asked whether a tip jar would be allowed.

I was told YES. In writing.

That confirmation was the reason I accepted the assignment.

I was instructed to meet at a designated location where a shuttle would transport us to the event. After arriving, I received a phone call asking me to switch assignments and board a different shuttle. I agreed because I was assured that the pay and previously discussed arrangements would remain the same.

What I didn’t know was that the shuttle would take me approximately THREE HOURS AWAY to ALABAMA.

I understood that the event location wasn’t being disclosed in advance, but I had no idea I would be traveling across state lines and into another time zone.

Then, after arriving and beginning to set up my bar, I was informed that TIP JARS WERE NOT ALLOWED.

I was completely caught off guard.

I had specifically asked about this before accepting the job. I had written confirmation. I had even agreed to switch events based on the understanding that everything would remain the same.

And now, after traveling three hours away from my vehicle, I was being told that one of the main reasons I accepted the assignment was no longer an option.

I contacted the person who arranged the assignment, but I couldn’t reach her by phone. When I explained what happened through text, the response I received was essentially that she hadn’t been informed of the restriction either.

At that point, what was I supposed to do?

My car was THREE HOURS AWAY. I didn’t know anyone in Alabama. Even if someone from Georgia had been willing to come get me, it would have taken hours.

I felt stuck. I didn’t have a realistic way to leave, so I stayed and completed the assignment.

I’m not saying tips are guaranteed. I’ve been bartending long enough to understand that. But there is a HUGE difference between accepting an event knowing tips are restricted and accepting an event after being specifically told that tip jars are permitted.

I could have declined this assignment and accepted another opportunity. In fact, just days earlier, I had politely turned down a different event after learning that tips wouldn’t be allowed.

That’s why this situation is so upsetting. I did exactly what I was supposed to do. I asked questions beforehand, confirmed the conditions, and made my decision based on the answers I received.

After returning home, I contacted the company to explain my concerns and request additional compensation because the actual conditions did not match what had been communicated.

My request was not approved.

I was told that the clients ultimately determine the tipping policies and that the staffing company doesn’t control those decisions.

I understand that venues have their own rules. But shouldn’t the people recruiting and assigning workers make sure they’re providing accurate information?

I also reached out to the company’s CEO. His response emphasized that gratuities aren’t guaranteed, that my $22 hourly rate hadn’t changed, and that I could have declined the reassignment if the travel arrangements weren’t suitable.

But how could I make an informed decision about traveling three hours into Alabama when I wasn’t told that’s where I was going?

And how could I decline the no-tip-jar conditions when I didn’t find out about them until I was already there, three hours away from my vehicle?

What makes this especially personal for me is that I’m working toward another goal. I’m planning to attend Western Governors University (WGU) next year, and I’ll be paying for my education out of pocket. I take these bartending assignments to save money toward that goal.

Every event I accept represents time away from other responsibilities, an opportunity to earn money, and another step toward something I’m working hard to accomplish.

Some people may think, “It’s just a tip jar.”

But to bartenders, a tip jar can make a significant difference in what we earn.

This isn’t about expecting guaranteed tips or refusing to work. I completed my assignment and fulfilled my responsibilities.

It’s about transparency, honesty, and respecting the people who show up to work.

I’m sharing this because I want other bartenders and event staff to protect themselves. Ask questions. Get things in writing. Confirm the location, transportation arrangements, and tipping policies before accepting an assignment.

And even then, understand that unexpected changes can happen.

We deserve to know what we’re agreeing to BEFORE we’re transported hours away and put in a position where we have very few options.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with a staffing company or event?

I’d genuinely like to hear how you handled it.

Great work ethic looking for a job

My friend is looking for work but isn’t a Reddit user so I said I would post on here for him. He caught a charge more than 10 years ago, served a few years and then worked as a semi truck driver for a while. Now because of family commitments he really needs a non-driving job. He is a really hard worker. I’ve seen him work really long hours with no complaints. He’s physically strong, intelligent and very personable. He has also worked in good service in the past. Has his own transportation. He is also a very skilled barber (been cutting hair since he was a teen) but doesn’t have his license completed yet. He is willing to take pretty much anything as long as it’s legit and not commission only (he tried that and got screwed over). Any ideas? Thank you!
