New to ars magica. Based on our circumstances, would 5e or Definitive Edition be more appropriate?

After our Mage: The Awakening chronicle, i was looking to run an Ars Magica campaign as a "spiritual prequel" of sorts. But i don't know anything about Ars Magica, and when doing research i discovered that recently a Definitive Edition came out, which is basically the 5e corebook but with a lot of the important supplements that came out during the years integrated into it.

The Definitive edition would be incredibly convenient for our group, if it weren't for the fact that the 5e corebook was translated in our language while the Definitive Edition (yet) hasn't (and idk if it will, the TTRPG scene hasn't been too lively in italy as of late),.

Most of our group can understand english but it'd still be more convenient if we had the book in our language, although I'm not sure that the struggle of gathering all the necessary 5e supplements (if any are necessary at all, idk about how this game is structured.) and maybe dealing with outdated rules and designs is better than dealing with the untranslated handbook.
