Hey everyone. I spun up a fresh vm on VMWare Workstation Pro using the archinstall script and downloaded the following additional packages:

base-devel

i3-wm

kitty

picom

polybar

feh

rofi

neovim

firefox

yazi

fastfetch

I noticed the double pointer and consulted the arch wiki to which I was instructed to download "open-vm-tools" and "xf86-input-libinput"

I ran the following commands:

sudo systemctl enable --now vmtoolsd.service

sudo systemctl enable --now vmware-vmblock-fuse.service

Still duplicate cursor. So I added "exec --no-startup-id vmware-user" in my i3 config but there's still 2 cursors. Could it be picom doing this? Can anyone help me solve this? Thank you

I had a problem with my laptop (the battery was dying, then it burned smt, the burned was repaired, then it happend again and now this is a new battery) and now I cant decrypt the disk apparently.
before this problem I was able to decrypt it normally, it loaded the colemak layout and decrypt it normally, then the problem appeared, I "fixed" it but then it loaded qwerty in the decryption screen
and now that the problem happend again and fixed it I cant decrypt it, and im not sure what layout is loading

I can still decrypt it with a live usb
it was encrypted with cryptsetup luks2

im not sure if after the failed to start cryptography I putted the corret password but something else failed

hello, after the 6.8.1 update my sytem just studders and freeze, my mouse is sometimes not moving... but when i restart all is gone and pc works fine

anyone knows what is happening? bit strange i have to restart my pc to have it work correctly

So short version is I'm having that issue with network manager stuttering while connected to the internet which isn't that big of a deal but it is annoying playing online. I was following instructions on reinstalling it seeing if that would work. I made a typo and it didn't reinstall before rebooting.

Where do I download a copy of the install file so I can transfer it by USB stick to my computer to fix the oopsies? Or if you have a better network manager link me to it?

I would like to delete some files stored on my computer. The trash bin is empty, but when I try to delete them, I get an error in Dolphin, and after that, everything switches to read-only mode. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I’m not very experienced.

Seeing all the news on linux support for eac2 I was excited until I saw that Arch isn't listed as a supported distro.

Would that mean some of us would have to switch to cachy or something. Is there anything official or just speculation on how it would have to work for the rest of the distros?

tengo unos problemas que me sucedieron recientemente, acabo de instalar arch linux en mi pc pero no cargan los videos de YouTube aunque tenga Internet, y el otro problema es que por más que le conecte parlantes o les deje los parlantes internos no se escucha, no sale sonido, hasta ahora ninguna solución ha funcionado, cualquier consejo sirve.

So I used to have to read forums or ask people for help... now if I have any issue with Linux I can just ask Claude or even chatGPT and it'll fix anything.

For example I wanted to auto forward a VPN port to Qbittorrent and it wrote me a script that just works.

Do you think we'll have some kind of AI assistant in archlinux at some point? It would help noobs a lot too.

How could i get the strawberry browser to work in arch linux?
Their website says that they only support windows and macos. Is there an AUR package for it?
