First of all you should mount to /boot not /boot/EFI. Second of all the error occurs because you need to supply the path to the directory to grub-install with the --efi-directory flag. So the correct command is: grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --bootloader-id=GRUB --efi-directory=/boot --recheck

Problems installing grub

Supported: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/GRUB Please use this document when configuring grub so support on this subreddit can be provided. See #1

Unsupported: https://youtu.be/U8uMmsJQTZM?is=K5CBhT3Zo9hc3X7X Using this video for configuration means seeking support on that channel, as is expected.

Good day.

please follow the installation guide at https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Installation_guide. It's a long one if you've never tried something similar. if it's the first time using linux, this might be too much. if that's the case, you may want to use a more user-friendly distro, mint or endeavour os perhaps. however, while those may be "user friendly", you will eventually run into problems which will require troubleshooting. you won't always (almost never) be able to rely on video tutorials (or ai), but that's the beauty of a more "technical system" after all: if you run into problems, you most likely also have every tool to pinpoint the cause! (and hopefully fix it). good luck

I had so much difficulty getting grub working (No errors during the setuo, but wouldn't appear in my bootloader) I gave up and went for systemd-boot.
