Technical Fallingwater Model - Work in Progress
Work-in-progress building Fallingwater from the original plans. Primary goal is to use the project as vehicle for developing my scratch built modeler and renderer. (written in Rust). This is a long term project and I am using quite a bit of AI for measuring/landmarking the plans (I'm not an architect). Currently doing R+D work on a simulated waterfall (using particles and implicit surfaces).

Always thought the cutaway views were the best part of those HABS drawings, cool to see someone pulling them into a model like this.

I had to add a plane slice function in my modeler to cut a mesh. Now that it seems to work I'll probably use this quite a bit in the final gallery.

Ok, phew. Modeling Fallingwater without modeling the landscape it fits into would be missing the point entirely.

What is your AI workflow? Our firm used this project to test Astra and built a full revit model with topo solid very quickly. It wasn’t perfect as floor plans have conflicting info but pretty servicable for a start

I'm not using any commercial software, the modeling and rendering software is mine. Basic workflow is (1) Claude (Opus) analyzes the drawing and generates modeling scripts in scheme (which is language that my renderer and modeler speaks.) (2) Models are quickly rendered with a review sheet which I check. (3) I get feedback from the AI on any additional tools the software could have used for the last step (4) I implement the tools (5) AI uses the new tools to make improvements. (5) The previous steps are iterated on according to a plan (I'm on step 3 of 12) which ultimately (hopefully) produces a model with landscape and vfx (including water sim). Yes I could have used Autodesk software and maybe did this automatically but that's not my focus.
