Apple Maps Redesign
A couple of weeks ago, I conducted a survey about Apple Maps as part of an assignment where I had to rethink and redesign the app to address users' pain points.
One of the most common issues people mentioned was business information and the need for more local information.
This is just a concept exploring what could be added to Apple Maps to make it better. I haven't used Apple's icons in this design; I just used Google Material Design icons because I was too lazy to find alternatives.
I'd love to hear your feedback! What do you think? Is this a good addition to Apple Maps' UI, or would you approach it differently?
I've split the experience into two sections: Explore and Navigate. Explore helps you discover places nearby that you might like, while Navigate focuses on getting you to your destination. I've also added quick actions that let you call or share a restaurant or business you find.
ps. P.S. This is just a basic concept, not a working prototype or anything.

Problem with Apple Maps or mapple is that when i put the destination, it gives multiple routes, suppose if i take a deviation, it gives that robotic suggestion “proceed to the route” . I hate that!! Google maps re-routes to any of that previously shown multiple routes!

I’ve always found it great at rerouting, especially after 17 it tends to be more “sticky” so it doesn’t just reroute to the fastest one if I picked a longer route and then deviated.

The issue is Apple’s POI data isn’t detailed or accurate enough in many countries. Appreciate your thinking but the UI isn’t the problem with the product here
