Just put out a live session with alt-country rockers Dogwood Tales - they played some songs off their new album Every Star in Rockingham County. Big fan of what they're doing right now.

"Alternative Country" is a rather ambiguous term that can mean a wide variety of music to an even wider range of people but here's wikipedia's definition of Alternative Country. And these are just some examples:*

Link posts should link to reviews, articles, videos, and music. Please review our new rules, especially in regards to self-promotion.

The following guidelines are under development and are subject to change.

Reddiquette and reddit's content policies always apply.
Be civil. No abuse will be tolerated.
All posts should be related to alt-country music. Comments should be related to the subject.

self-promotion guidelines

The following guidelines are under development and are subject to change.

If you have not been assigned flair that identifies your affiliation, you must clearly identify yourself as being affiliated with the band, artist, publication, or website you are promoting. Message the mods to receive your flair.
If you are here to post a link or self-post to promote your own music or content, do so no more than once every 4 weeks (once a month).
Self-promotion in the comments should be infrequent and organic to the discussion.
Ensure that self-promotion is not the majority of your contributions to the community and reddit as a whole. (In other words, if most of your posts/comments are self-promotion either here or throughout reddit, then you are not welcome here.)

Also, be sure to check out our friends:

It has been pointed out that "alt" means "old" in German; and it's been pointed out that alt country might be the real heirs to the old Johnny Cash tradition...

"It's not alt. country. It's called 'Country.'"
