First Time Visitor

I’m a national comedian that is based out of Nashville. I will be in Canton/Akron  for the first time today Oct 23 - 25 headlining Canton Comedy Boom. I was looking for recommendations for great food and cool things to do around town.

There are tons of options for food, but I think one of the more unique selections you'll find in the Akron area is our Nepalese restaurants. We have a pretty large Nepali population and several restaurants to try their cuisine.

Momo House and Nepali Kitchen are my two favorites.

Any type of food or recreation you are looking for in general?

If you looking for nightlife head to Blue Jazz. You will find a place to fit in, in that area without having to drive anywhere else. The pizza shop is amazing.

Lock 15 is awesome, highly recommend. Microbrewery that has no business serving food as amazing as they do.

El Patron downtown has (to me) the best Latin food.

Cilantro if you’re craving Asian.

Crave is another favorite with a great menu and atmosphere.

Blu+ Jazz and Musica are great for life small stage music.

Akron Civic Theater and EJ Thomas for touring broadway/ symphony/ orchestra level stage productions.

Sidenote- if you’re into tabletop gaming or Magic/Pokemon type the FullGrip games is really hard to beat, they have nightly schedule and are large enough to host their own 3k tournaments.

Well...WELCOME 🩶 Depending on what you're looking for the weather and season is perfect for the Metro Parks, if the outdoors is your thing. For coffee I'd recommend Artisan, M&H and Porchlight For food and/or drinks there's tons of options but I'll keep as short as possible 🫣 Good Company, Circle of Fifths, Gervasi (it's seriously like a whole complex and it's stunning), Luigi's , and everyone would recommend Swenson's but a sweet burg isn't my thing...since it's a 'staple' I always throw it in there.

Hope you have a great time here! 🩶

Swensons is unique for Ohio, it’s a fast food joint. People around here like Luigi’s for pizza. Noisy oyster is a good local bar, lamppost is a great 24 hours, breakfast all day place with a food challenge, the He-man. Ken Stewart bar and grill or the lodge are somewhat famous. Papa Joes is another good one, kinda pricey, but good. Gervasi is a I’ll Italian vineyard and many other things - people have weddings there, but it’s amazing.
