Fun fact horsepower was just a marketing term use to sell tractors. It has no actual relation to the actual power of a horse.

66

u/ZloyPes 3h ago

Yeah, a horse, on average, is estimated to produce between 12 and 15 horse powers at peak

34

u/KeithWorks 3h ago

Well, I can produce 20-30 Keithpowers per second when I have enough coffee.

9

u/MasterBot98 1h ago

What is the ratio of bagels to Keithpower?

1

u/Vast-Difficulty1542 2h ago

so you can produce watts per second?

1

u/Venomized_BOI_FIN 1h ago

Take my upvote. This made me laugh

1

u/punksmostlydead 0m ago

"Power" is an adequate descriptor for what I produce after my coffee, and my wife has referred to me as a horse's ass.

9

u/VirusSector 2h ago

Ooo that's the fun thing though. A horse power isn't the power of one horse, it's how many horses could be replaced by a machine. Sure, two horses could do the job, but a horse can't work all day. You need teams of 6,8,10,12 horses if there's a lot to be done. A horse's outut might be 12 at an instant, but it's not going to be that way constantly like a machine.

(Also some define it as the force needed to lift 550lbs being lifted a foot per second, which is about what a draft horse can do.... Things really got fucky when we got to things like trains and steam power)

2

u/Sedoy6373 2h ago

Conclusion: that persona had a really weak horse.

1

u/Joemunji20 2m ago

So what you're saying is that horses have very efficient horse per horse

9

u/myrrik_silvermane 2h ago

Yes and no. The person that introduced the concept of "horse power" used a lot of assumptions and math that really doesn't check out properly based on what his horse could do. I don't remember all of the specifocs but he (with crude equipment) estimated how long it took his horse to pull a bucket 1ft up his well. And "concluded" that an engine with 1ft-lb of torque spinning at 5252 rpm could pull the bucket up at the same rate. Now. Thats a LOT of assumptions and poor testing procedures. However, what we ended up with was not an actual equivalency between a engine and a horse, but rather a metric that we could use to compare the work load performed between engines. And a fun marketing tool for the bean counters

3

u/BLKCandy 1h ago

Despite a lot of assumption, the math came within the range of sustained power of a horse. So, it is a decent assumption of average work a workhorse can do continuously. Admittedly, that is a pretty wide range.

3

u/RIF_rr3dd1tt 3h ago

Burger-on-the-Go™ however, has everything to do with horses.

1

u/YellowFaceWarehouse 3h ago

because the burgers are made with horse meat.,.?

1

u/Doc_Baker74 1h ago

Doesn't a horse have 14 horsepower

1

u/LaVillaGrangioto 0m ago

It is a VERY loose quantifying system. The theory is that a horse's PEAK horsepower is in the teens but can not be sustained for an entire production cycle. At "one" horsepower, the animal can work indefinitely at the pace with stops only for minimum food and rest.

u/GuntherHogmoney 4h ago

From the people who brought you "You can't even fix a car yourself anymore - it's all computer"

12

u/Melificarum 4h ago

Wise words.

30

u/ErrythingAllAtOnce 4h ago

Their inside jokes about horses and almonds are great

evidence that their brains should be studied by materials engineers to engineer a zero-friction surface

6

u/Glittering-Table-837 3h ago

I get the almond "joke" about wasting water and all

But horses?

12

u/ErrythingAllAtOnce 3h ago

See, horses became obsolete because cars, so artists will be obsolete, presumably because everyone in the world will only appreciate things at the same bare minimum surface level as prompters who “discovered their talent.”

4

u/RIF_rr3dd1tt 3h ago

Obsidiots

40

u/sacha8uk 4h ago

How is that guy driving his car in the third "image"? The steering wheel is on the side of the car!

27

u/Previous-Screen-3875 4h ago

That's such a fat horse thing to say, excuse me while I smoke my cigar and drive my hairdresser Miata

10

u/Medi-okra 4h ago

TRUTH NUKE! The answer is GIGA CHAD

7

u/ErrythingAllAtOnce 4h ago

Maybe AI is driving the car and it’s decorative. The OOP probably placed it according to where he thinks it is in his mom’s car. Probably doesn’t pay much attention when she drives him everywhere.

7

u/Global_Cockroach_563 2h ago

1

u/unicornmeat85 16m ago

drives like I do in my dreams

1

u/ElPared 3h ago

Because he’s driving the car in reverse, duh!

16

u/llk338xyz 4h ago

1 horse power is not 1 horse though im pretty sure

13

u/etrane79 4h ago

That's a fat horse way of thinking about it. Be a giga Chad and drive a midlife crisis Miata.

4

u/pomeclipse 3h ago

The horsepower was estimated by goofy old-timey crackpot science ("HOW FAST CAN THIS HORSE TURN THIS WHEEL") for the purpose of marketing steam engines, which were originally made to replace horses on farms and other labor work.

Horsepower measures the rate at which work is done. 1 horsepower is about 740 watts (1 watt is 1 Joule per second.) In 1925 it was estimated that the average sustained work rate of one horse was indeed about 1 horsepower.

1

u/cousintipsy 3h ago

then why is it called HORSE power? betcha can’t answer that one liberal 🤣🤣😂😂

3

u/joyfulgrass 3h ago

Some horse somewhere lifted 550lbs by 1 foot in 1 sec. 🙄

5

u/Zestyclose-Rain298 3h ago

americans will use anything but a god damn rational measurement system

1

u/No-Departure-3047 4h ago

Yeah one horsepower is like 8 horses IIRC.

3

u/RIF_rr3dd1tt 3h ago

Are they burning them for heat to boil water?

1

u/No-Departure-3047 54m ago

Nah, they use dogs for that.

3

u/TheyCantCome 1h ago

1 horsepower is 550 ft lbs a second. I think donut media got 5.7 horse power when they Dyno’d an actual horse.

2

u/Zealousideal_Nail288 24m ago edited 21m ago

pretty sure horse power was calculated on avg over an hour not peak numbers

13

u/Old-Implement5652 3h ago

It's over, I've finally depicted you as the fat chud horse

5

u/Fair-Chapter-5715 3h ago

That means we have aura, because we are even slightly related to the aura farmer (this is a joke please dont stuff me inside a spring bonnie suit and light it on fire)

1

u/Old-Implement5652 3h ago

Fad chud horse when the fat chud horse farmer walks by with his pawg wife (could have been your fat chud horse farmer pawg wife but you're anti AI): 😲

10

u/Rustmutt 3h ago

There’s going to be studies on this in art history classes in the future

4

u/ShinePretend3772 3h ago

You think we have a future. Art finds a way tho. Give an artist anything & something will materialize.

9

u/all43 4h ago

Are all these generated by the same person? They all reuse same characters and sending the same weird message

4

u/Zeiroth 3h ago

No, ai is just trash and can only do 1 style so they all look the same.

7

u/they_themsworth 4h ago

Every other detail of this cartoon is more realistic than a Miata with 310 HP.

2

u/Melificarum 4h ago

I think the Miata just has 310 health.

2

u/TheAgedProfessor 3h ago

3d20, plus a +2 constitution boost.

6

u/Strange_Toe6204 4h ago

Hmm didn’t expect to get jabba the horse slop in 2026

6

u/Old-Acanthaceae-3406 4h ago

i too love walking around in my shirt that says "TRUTH NUKE GIGA CHAD"

6

u/nub_node 3h ago

I dunno man, I keep having to put gas in my car.

With a horse, I could just be like "Hey. Look. Grass," and they'd do their thing.

1

u/punksmostlydead 2m left

We'll all be back to horses before long if things keep heading the way they are.

5

u/KnownAsAnother 3h ago

The ND Miata does not make 310 horsepower lol unless it has forced induction of some sort.

Whoever prompted this is not a real car person. So much for that supposed "truth nuke" lol

5

u/Inevitable_Finish131 3h ago

…I thought they didn’t like blue-hairs?

4

u/Kindly-Arrival-6517 3h ago

Cat ears and tits override blue hair

5

u/GunjiroX 2h ago

everyone they dont like is fat.... even they are fat too I guess

3

u/clayton-berg42 3h ago

Isn't that thing a glorified miata with less than 150hp?

3

u/user18298375298759 2h ago

In Europe. In the US it's around 180 hp

2

u/clayton-berg42 2h ago

Thanks. that's still not 310 and most of those guys would make fun of it as a 'girl's car'.

0

u/user18298375298759 2h ago

I think a new generation Mazda (either miata, rx7 or mazdaspeed3, don't remember which one) is coming out in the next two years with 300 HP.

0

u/professor_fate_1 2h ago

The best know “driving pleasure/ driving enthusiast” car is a “girl’s car” yeah all right..

I guess a “manly car” is a RAM pickup by that logic right?

2

u/Aromatic-Laugh-1473 4h ago

holy false comparison

2

u/Cinnamoncakess 4h ago

We know it's an incel by the Chad trash talk

2

u/OrdinaryPollution339 4h ago

Mazda Is Always The Answer!

2

u/Dramatic-Aardvark-31 4h ago

I shouldn't like it but I do for no reason

2

u/TheAgedProfessor 3h ago

Giga Chad would never fit in a Miata. Take it from a 6'4" 170# guy who once tried to drive a Miata.

3

u/Zoterote 2h ago

I’m crying it’s truth nuke soyjak

Is this made by the same inflation horse fetish guy of other posts or there are more ai bros with that barely disguised fetish?

1

u/Arctimon 4h ago

I'm very confused as to what this is suppose to be saying.

1

u/Minimum-Scale- 4h ago

Their battle

1

u/Ok-Cup-9164 4h ago

I’m going to deslop this later

1

u/turboninja3011 4h ago

More people related than you d imagine.

1

u/CupcakeOk9429 3h ago

Correction, that's not Giga Chad, that's Giga Chud!

1

u/phearless047 3h ago

False equivalence.

1

u/Many-Fisherman5653 3h ago

Truth nuke: 310 horses has the possibility of being way more expensive than a convertible.

2

u/Haipaidox 3h ago

They are

Just assuming a horse costs 2.000 dollar, they would codt 620.000 dollar

And horses are often more expensive

2

u/verbalnoun 3h ago

now imagine how expensive a talking horse would be

1

u/endergamer2007m 1h ago

horses are also expensive in maintenance

1

u/ShinePretend3772 3h ago

A fuckin Miata? Fr? These doods exude homosexuality. Surprised he’s wearing a shirt

1

u/Much-Jackfruit2599 3h ago

Well, they are right about the virtual girlfriend.

1

u/Competitive-Hair6294 2h ago

Oh my god is that why they represent us with horses? cause of cars?
Also that's wrong, horses don't have 1 horsepower

1

u/SplashWaterBalloon 2h ago

I guess we're doing horses now

1

u/This_guy7796 2h ago

Well technically they didn't replace horses. They just made horses less efficient & practical for general transportation. I have quite literally seen people riding on horseback, with a donkey in tow, on the south side of Atlanta off of I-285. Way these gas prices are going, I'm considering buying one of my uncle's horses off him.

1

u/cultcraftcreations 2h ago

The kind of person that made this is also the kind of person that has to pay people to touch his weiner

1

u/Professional_Tale649 2h ago

You see I rendered myself as the extremely muscular chad character with the stacked cat girl waifu thus I am the victor!

1

u/Chevy437809 2h ago

Leave the Miata out of this bro 😭

1

u/Pie_Napple 1h ago

310HP mazda mx-5?

Brah....

1

u/FeedMeDrywall 1h ago

The funniest thing about this is that the giga chad is driving backwards. Even if its obviously supposed to be him driving off into the sunset, leaving the horse behind. The ai cant even get that right.

I also love how the car, horse and scenery have this realistic look, generic anime hentai girl has a anime like style and giga chud looks like a realistic depiction of a butch hartman drawing. The supposedly superior "art" tool cant even make everything look like it belongs together.

1

u/endergamer2007m 1h ago

Doesn't the ND Miata have like.. at most 180hp for the 2l? they can prompt any fucking car and they chose a fucking Miata.

1

u/El_Basho 1h ago

That is so stupid. The car displayed, Mazda MX5 Mk. 3 has at most 180 horsepower

1

u/No-Archer-4713 1h ago

Why do they care about the ones they’re supposed to happily leave in the dust ? Aren’t they great enough yet ? I can’t wrap my head around this

1

u/Traditional-Main7204 50m ago

That's evidently RageBait in AIslop aesthetic.

1

u/Medrawt_ErVaru 41m ago

The fact these guys use giga Chad unironically just send me.

1

u/demonsdencollective 40m ago

Miata ND has like 160 bhp lmao

1

u/Any-Fox-1822 40m ago

Son 😭 The TRUTH NUKE AI chud has me on the floor, how can people be that dense ?

1

u/King_Dragonlord 38m ago

Ah that’s why Ai bros are using horses to represent antis now as well as the ogres, it’s the “the car replaced the horse” thing

1

u/mat_rica 28m ago

I think OP makes this thing to post it here but I can’t prove it

1

u/Outrageous_Fruit_682 25m ago

AI art is like if the steering wheel didn't work

1

u/Myrkanoon_TheGayT0fu 21m ago

Inst the guy of the "truth nuke" a criminal?

1

u/dzio-bo 13m ago

This car must have been In a major accident if the steering wheel ended up on the driver's door

1

u/WispyBooi 10m ago

Genuine question. Why are antis always depicted as far when AI users are typically sitting down generating stuff. Is it "fat" to put effort into stuff instead of sitting in a chair typing in a box?

1

u/punksmostlydead 7m left

The big titty cat girl is somehow sitting in front of the steering wheel.

This must be satire. Poor satire, but still.

1

u/Admirable_Rabbit_808 16m left

What a weird flex from whoever wrote the prompt for this. Even if "AI art" ends up winning, removing prompt generators themselves and replacing the whole thing with a closed-circuit AI-to-monetization loop is the obvious next step. Or maybe it already has?
