Edit: going to work on muzzle training and the “bucket game” which teaches them they can communicate in different ways. Thanks for all the comments. Goes to show that they are all different
How do your Airedales do at the vet? Any tips for making the experience better for them?
Our sweet pup is honestly a darling until you’re “doing something to him” (checking heartbeat, ears, trimming nails etc). Our vet said he has fear aggression and it makes me so sad…I truly don’t know what could have caused it as he’s been with us since 12 weeks and has had a very good life.
He’s great with kids (never alone of course), loooooves other dogs, is super playful and friendly, but as soon as the vet is trying handle him he goes full Cujo on them.
I’m just so sad that anyone would think he’s mean or aggressive because it’s nothing like his very sweet personality.
Our vet was good and said it could just be the way his personality is and that it could have to do with being an Airedale.
