Yep. Fantastic
Just completed his armor but my personal favorite look is the backpack alone
Bonus nightingale-ish armor format in last slides

So I'm relatively new, this is my 5th or 6th kit i think, and so far I've been cruising with some acrylic markers for detailing.
However I've been noticing recently just how...unwieldy a marker can really be. Their tips are too thick, the body itself is far too large and heavy for me to comfortably hold in awkward positions. I catch myself thinking time and time again, "man, a paint brush would be nice right about now..."
I've seen some suggesting to get a soft tipped marker, but honestly i also don't like the fact that I get locked down to any single brand, if that makes sense. Paint and brush just seems like the more tried and tested method, if a bit more involved.
But the thing is i have no clue where to even begin with paint. Most posts about paints are specifically for painting whole kits, and I'm simply not there yet. I'm mostly satisfied and fine with bare plastic, my use case will mostly be for detailing.
So my question is, where do i start? Are branded stuff like Vallejo necessary, or can i just diy any generic acrylic paint from the arts supply store? What about metallic colors? Thinners? Wet palette?
How do i dip my toes into the world of hand painting without overwhelming myself with the amount of choices?
Also the kit is RG Zeong if it's not obvious enough. This guy's awesome!

I’m looking to use Gaia Pearl Silver on the white Fenrir armor. The plan was to lay down Gaia’s EX-01 (gloss white) before the pearl silver, but I’m debating if it’s worth the time vs. skipping straight to the Pearl Silver. Thinking lacquer would have enough bite on its own, but looking for experience!

I went with a halo theme in mind when I started this project. Took me way longer than anticipated but I’m happy with the end product. ZZA Gus 10/10 build experience.! 🦖

Hey everybody,
Sharing my MG Barbatos custom build that I finished back in 2022.
The inspiration came from seeing some amazing black and red Barbatos builds online. I felt that this specific color scheme truly brings out the "demon" persona of the Gundam, so I wanted to give it my own spin.
For this build, I focused on a deep candy red finish contrasted with metallic blacks and silvers, along with painted inner frame details (as shown in the progress shot).
Thanks for looking!

TLDR; both paints are ug12 but sprayed completely different and the colors dont match. Are these 2 different types of paint/paint codes or did I just get a bad batch
So I'm in the middle of doing my first full paint job on my RG sazabi. The first picture was the paint I got at my local hobby shop but they only had one bottle and I ran out so I ordered more (photo 2) the new bottle has a visually different label, the color came out brighter and more glossy. I also noticed that the way the paint laid down with the air brush using the same thinner and ratio was a lot different so are they different blends or ratios or something? Or did I just get a bad batch

Decided to use the transparent armor evenly throughout rather than half and half. I know I keep saying it, but what a fucking kit! Rocksolid and incredible in every way! Now onto the cloak, stand and weapons

This was a rather fun and quick build for a long time client. The original ex-impulse backpack was boring so we decided to ditch it and use a spare destiny impulse pack instead. ofcourse that was also boring so i had to modify it to be able to use the daban destiny wings😆😆😆

I’m working through kits I bought 9 years ago because they were $19 and seemed easy to start with, practicing using a raser and sandpaper grits. Feeling happy with my own progress and taking it slow, but I am struggling with this creeping hate for the kit itself. Its actually my second build of the same kit, my first go round i blitzed through, also because i found this specific kit to be no fun to build.
Going slower is definitely helping me practice skills but not sure what i can to do counteract the hate for this kit.
Mainly just writing this to see what other people do at the start of a practice build they regret buying ^_^

So gonna put this out there bc I’ve seen so many negative comments over the years when someone has mentioned using markers for a full paint job. I recently was diagnosed with cancer and I’m having to go through chemo. So airbrushing isn’t really an option for me. So I decided to give markers a try for a full kit and to no surprise it turned out fantastic.
I’ve seen such a negative connotation around doing a full kit with markers when the reality is even if you are brush painting you have to do the same # of coats. The only difference between it and airbrushing is you are not going to get a coat like a candy red like you would with an airbrush.
Long story short use the medium you want for your kit practice over everything. This kit looks good enough I would submit it into a competition and it would likely place

Started as a 'simple' project but I got ambitious and essentially scratch built a Gaza-C, meant to resemble the Gquuux style, taking inspiration from the hambrabi and various armored core 4 designs.

Hi all, I have been scribing for some time, and mostly just sanding the mistakes and using surfacer to clean up the surface.
However, I have recently discovered that it is possible to put some thin cement into the scribed panel lines for the plastic to be smoothed out.
But does anyone know what is the precise way to do so? Do you did the scribing tool in the cement and run it through the line one more time? Or just use the brush and the capillary effect?
