Am I doing this wrong?

I’ve got a full sus MTB that I was trying to sell, wasn’t happening so I’ve got a core 2 and intend to use it for Zwift for the time being. Does it make loads of difference what frame you actually use?

it's fine but you're only allowed to ride an MTB frame in-game

My first season was on my full sus MTB. Worked fine. Lock out your suspension if you can (or pumps it up max).

Frame doesn’t matter. Replace your MTB tyres though and I would lock both suspensions.

Core 2 is wheel off so tyres won't make a difference!

Front tire will make a difference, same way front suspension does: e.g. in sprints you’ll use some level of momentum due to forces getting absorbed by the suspension instead of the transfer to the drivetrain and the trainer.
