Dear community,

I want to bring a situation to your attention involving a seller whose actions I believe raise serious concerns.

The Reddit user PlanePea4349, who operates BlackHawkStudios and the Rare Art and Collectibles eBay store, has listed and sold 3D prints from my designs without my permission.

The products in question include my Executor model and my Huge X-Wing stands. I did not grant him a licence or authorise him to sell these designs.

The seller also offers models from creators such as Sussy, Onil, Ravensfell, and Robbe’s Workshop. I cannot speak to whether he has the appropriate licences for their work, and I do not want to make assumptions about arrangements I am not aware of.

I have attached screenshots of the product listings and my conversation with the seller so that you can review the situation and draw your own conclusions.

I believe it is important to make the community aware of this, particularly for those who purchase 3D-printed models for Star Wars Armada, Xwing or Legion.

Please keep this in mind when shopping, and consider supporting creators who respect the work and licensing agreements of other designers.

First and foremost, sorry to see this happening to you. Hope you'll be able to clear this situation to your advantage.

Second. If the guy owns the site - you can DMCA him. Just send a DMCA claim to his host. Same with Etsy and Ebay stores, they both respond to DMCA pretty swiftly. Never did it for myself, but from the experience of other creators, I know this work pretty well.

Thirs, you linked the wrong webpage. It opens to some web-development company site. You either need to fix that, or remove the link alltogether (to not create a free ad for the guy).

Did you report it to eBay? Because you should probably report it to eBay if you haven't already.

You might also consider reaching out to the makers of the other models.

I am reaching out to the makers on Discord. I know most of the guys in Armada, not that active in X-wing. And yes I reported it to Ebay.

I know I will get a lot of hate for this but you are selling a design from an IP you do not own without permission from Disney. There is a bit of pot calling the kettle black going on here.

I'm glad you have that insight yourself. However I'm not making big money of this. I'm just doing it as a hobby and using it to pay for filament. But sure be that guy. Besides if you look closely at my model it deviates a lot from the actual movie models, which one could argue I took inspiration from, but didn't recreate. Besides I'm making models to keep a dead game alive. But you do you man, you do you.

It's irrelevant. These are fans producing fan content for a game that has long been discontinued. You can argue the ethics of "stealing" from a pretty despicable mega corporation, but whatever your opinion it doesn't justify the frankly pathetic behaviour of stealing fan art to profit off of yourself.

It wouldn’t hold up in court. There is no IP violation if there is no copyright.

Morally wrong but legally not enforceable.

regardless who owns the IP, OP created the 3D design itself and put in that design work and this shop is selling his work. that is a concrete fact.
