2.0 Looking for a good video tutorial
Hey everyone! I just picked this up to play with my 9 year old. We’re big fans of the Star Wars Unlimited TCG and we saw a group playing this at our FLGS and of course my son was very intrigued. I would love your recommendation on the best online tutorial. There’s a lot of content on YouTube (some outdated) and I’m having trouble finding a good introduction that is both easy to follow and covers 2.0.

As a beginner, i built an app that has built in reminders for rules, pilot abilities, etc. Feel free to take a look! It has a rules reference and allows you to play without cards or tokens so you can build up your fleet without having to track down more out of production stuff

Xwhub.com has a lot of resources.
I havent seen a thorough 'how to play' for the '2.5' era of the game with scenarios. I am sure there is something out there.

It’s still a great game. What you have there is 2.0. Building lists a little complicated but with

You’ll be fine.

I make videos on X-wing and have for years. Hopefully they're easy to follow!
As others have said, that box is Second Edition or "2.0," which is physically the latest materials to play the game (bases, dials, etc)
As far as rules, right now there are still First Edition or "1.0" players out there, a community-supported Second Edition through X-wing Legacy, and a community supported X-wing Alliance (XWA) or "2.5"
That's going to look confusing at first, but the good news is it means you have a ton of ways to play, and the basics are very similar for every edition.

The "Brief Introduction" and "Play and Chat" videos may be particularly helpful for where you are now!

In the meantime you can find the most simple how to play basics with the core set video and for building ships just go with skywalker for your kid and you play the 2 fighters bare bones.
You also have some pre-built cards those tell you how they scale in power. First matches dont use upgrades. Then slowly start adding new upgrades. Also use the maneuvers
measurements when planning your moves(since is hard at first eye balling it)
