Workplace safety concern

• Upvotes

I work in a warehouse environment. We use metal rolling stairs to reach the higher levels of the warehouse. I would estimate the stairs are about 16-18 feet tall. I don’t have the exact measurements.
In one of our warehouses the rolling stairs frame was damaged by a forklift and bent inwards.
I asked if that meant we needed a new set of stairs in this warehouse.
That was met with a chuckle and response of “those things are too expensive the company isn’t going to want to spend that much” the bent section was straightened and they signed off the stairs as good to go.
Now, I am not mechanically inclined in any way shape or form. But I do not feel it is safe for anyone to use these stairs after that type of repair.
I do not plan on using those stairs at all, and ready for any disciplinary action that may follow due to that.
Am I correct in this or am I overreacting?

Workplace forcing us to share headphones

Today our managers announced that the headsets bought for staff do not belong to individuals, but rather they are company property which means they are a shared resource. They have stated that they are cleaning them with a Clorox wipe and that staff will need to share headsets going forward. Is this allowed in the state of Massachusetts ?

I need to do a presentation about workplace slips trips and falls. Wondering if anyone has any funny videos to suggest. Thank you!
