๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ BLACK LIVES MATTER Kimberly Latrice Jones made this incredible speech during the George Floyd.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Iโve seen the phrase โthey are lucky that what Black people are looking for is equality and not revengeโ misquoted on other social media to be about men and women. But feminism is vapid and useless if itโs not intersectional, so to avoid accidental co-opting Iโd encourage everyone to watch her full speech. It is powerful and it is as important now as it was in 2020.
Solidarity is the only way forward.

๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ Omens, Signs, and Spirits Not sure if I should be concerned or simply being looked after
So I was hanging out in our backyard with my furry girl Jackie, and see this guy hanging out on the telephone pole that's at the back corner of our lot. I sent pics to my husband, who felt it was ominous, but I feel like this guy was just chilling. He even welcomed a visit from the resident noisy/nosey squirrels that are usually on that pole.
Thoughts? (I also woke up at 3 this morning, in a panic about next week's election, and feel like crap, so I'm wondering if this is also a sign to me that justice will be served? Or something along those lines.)

๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ Familiars Post surgery healing under the watchful eye of my familiar
I had an open myomectomy last thursday and came home from the hospital with a stinking cold. I'm doing everything medically right but I'm miserable and sore and hopeful there's something more witchy I can do to help me feel better or give me strength to get through this.
Every cough makes me feel like my insides are going to fall out. Every sneeze is agony. The fibroid removed was 15cm. Absolute monster.
โOnce this cold is gone and my recovery is on its way im wanting to dive deeper into my witchy side too. Id say I'm drawn to nature and believe the planet is alive and should be cherished.
โI didn't know what flair to use so here's my familiar Odo taking wonderful care of me.

๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ Mindful Craft how do we stay angry at the right things without burning ourselves out?
i've been thinking about this a lot lately. there's so much to be mad about, and rightfully so, but i notice i get stuck in this loop where i'm constantly rage-scrolling and it just leaves me depleted. how do you all balance staying informed and staying active without it turning into something that destroys your peace? like, is there a way to channel that anger into actual power without it consuming you?

๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ Art You Donโt Own Me - An IUD Sword
I turned a copper IUD into a sword thatโs cutting through a flower. Its strings become these thorned vines that wrap around the title of the song โYou Donโt Own Meโ by Lesley Gore. It represents empowerment and the reclaiming of the myths about IUDs. Despite cases being rare they have a reputation of being dangerous and painful (and for some they can be- but with the proper hands of a gynecologist pain can be minimized). As someone who uses Kyleena this is what an IUD means to me- itโs a guard against unwanted reproduction and resistance against anti-contraception viewpoints.
I hope those that are looking for birth control are able to receive well-informed information about IUDs, theyโre a solution to menstrual management and pregnancy for many people, and they last several yearโs uninterrupted. The patriarchy is against the bodily autonomy of those who can give birth and I want this illustration to make someone feel empowered in their choice of contraception.

๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ Gender Magic ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ Wearing pride bracelets for school: Level 2.
Hello dear witches. I'm the teacher that posted the bracelets around a month ago and want to give some feedback.
I'm wearing a new set of Pride Bracelets I've gotten from a friend of mine, after the first one broke unfortunately. The new ones are the trans bracelet and the rainbow bracelet.
Some students asked me about it, who felt quite insecure in the beginning, but now felt like talking a bit more, and it seems like the bracelets have a good effect on the students. They felt like talking to me and it seemed like it was okay for them to talk about their struggles with me.
I do feel like that these bracelets have a good effect on the students generally, and I hope that this trust isn't misplaced.

๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ Art I Am Angry - a poem about British Columbians electing a Conservative majority government
I am angry.
Not the quiet kind of angry. Not the kind that folds itself small to make other people comfortable. Not the kind that smiles through disappointment, calls it democracy and goes back to washing the dishes.
I am angry.
I am angry for the children who will inherit the consequences of decisions they were too young to make. For the youth who will learn, once again, that their safety is negotiable, that their futures are political bargaining chips, that the adults in the room will gamble with their lives and call it leadership.
I am angry for Indigenous peoples, for rights that should never have been conditional, for sovereignty that should never have been up for debate, for a province that can look at generations of genocide and injustice and still find new ways to wound.
I am angry for the queer kids who will measure their words before speaking, who will tuck away the colours of themselves, who will learn which parts of their hearts are safest left unseen. No child should have to choose between being known and being safe.
I am angry for people with disabilities, for families already drowning in waitlists and paperwork and impossible choices. For parents who have spent years begging for the bare minimum and are told to be patient while the funding shifts beneath their feet. Our children are not budget lines. Their dignity is not a discretionary expense. Their lives are not less worthy because supporting them costs more.
I am angry for the land, for the water, for the air our children will breathe. For every safeguard dismissed as an inconvenience, every protection stripped away in the name of progress that leaves the earth a little poorer and the powerful a little richer.
I am angry.
And beneath the anger, there is grief.
There is the terrible, aching sadness of watching a place you love become a place you no longer recognize. Of looking toward the future and seeing not possibility, but all the people who might be hurt before they ever get the chance to grow.
I am afraid for our children. I am afraid for our youth. For our disabled. For our Indigenous communities. For every person who has ever been told they are too different, too difficult, too much, too other.
I am afraid because I know who is asked to pay the price when compassion becomes optional.
And I am disappointed. God, I am disappointed.
This is not the province I want. Not the home I imagined for my children, for their children, for anyone who has ever dared to believe that we could build something kinder than what came before us.
But I will not make my anger polite. I will not make my grief palatable. I will not soften the truth so that those untouched by these consequences can bear to hear it.
Because anger is sometimes love with nowhere safe to go. Because grief is what happens when the world falls short of what we know it could be. Because fear does not mean we have surrendered.
So I will be angry. I will be loud. I will name the harm. I will stand beside the people who are being asked to carry it.
I will teach my children that no one's humanity is conditional. That no one's identity is a provocation. That care is not weakness. That justice is not an inconvenience. That the measure of a province is not how comfortably its powerful live, but how safely its most vulnerable can exist.
I am angry. I am sad. I am scared.
This is not the province I want.
But I will keep fighting for the one it could be.

๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ Crystals, Minerals, & Rocks Advice Needed Friendship Breakup and Stuff
I broke up with a longtime friend with many years in the making. It is possible that it was with a narcissistic or just simply a materialistic person. As a result, I have many many objects from the friendship jewelry, art, a handmade quilt. I gave much back in material goods so that I wouldnโt be indebted to this person. Art, jewelry, clothing and handmade art. Also, I got her a side hustle job with me for a time where she used the income to purchase furniture. Now that the friendship is over, can I simply cleanse the items, so that I donโt have to dispose of them? Any spells or cleansing with stones that could help?

โ ๏ธ Sensitive Topic ๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ Massive tw: sh
Hello everyone, sorry if this is awkward I havenโt posted here before. I wanted to share something my mom did and get your guysโ opinion on it. I showed her my self harm scars, some more recent than others. Afterwards the other night she confessed she did a spell to keep me from doing it again. She told me she intended that whenever Iโd hurt myself, Iโd imagine my dog who went missing about a half a year ago. Idk if that makes sense, but she basically affirmed that when/if I try to hurt myself Iโm forced to imagine my dog. I was mad of course, but I get why she wouldnโt want me to hurt myself again. Idk how to feel about all of this. Advice is appreciated

๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ BURN THE PATRIARCHY Theory about the full moon and expecting full energy from a woman
Now this is just a little thought I had recently and I was wondering if any of you had noticed this or think of it the same way I do?
The patriarchy has disconnected women from their natural cycles in their body. And when a lot of women learn about these cycles eventually (luteal, follicular, ovulation, period) they instantly hate every cycle except follicular and ovulation.
I understand the instinct to hate your luteal or period phase. I used to as well when I began cycle syncing, but after consistently listening to my womb, taking out my emotions, fixing what it was telling me to fix in my life, my cramps and PMS symptoms GENUINELY LOWERED. By a lot.
Obviously no woman wants to feel like shit. But the patriarchy has hidden how these luteal and period phases can be worked with, and they are just as important. The patriarchy expecting women to be at their "fullest energy" I think is also an influence on why women only like their ovulation phases.
It's where they are desirable to men, have energy, and do more things. Of course there's nothing wrong with that, but just a thought.
Now my theory on how the moon comes into this: The full moon is often associated with full energy and often where most women have their fullest energy or are ovulating. Over the years so much of the depiction in books, movies and posters has been of the full moon. Of course all phases of the moon are beautiful. But subconsciously I think it might influence us women into believing that we are only beautiful or desirable when we are at our fullest energy.
WE should romanticize the moon outside of witchcraft in society in all of its phases, the same with a woman. A woman should be treated and valued equally despite her cycle. Now this is just a little theory or thought I had, and it could or could not be intentional by the patriarchy to make the full moon more visible in movies, books, shows, etc.
What are your thoughts on this?
(sorry if this was a little confusing)

๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ Spells Need spells for hair situations
Hey long story short I cut my hair without my parents knowing, its not tellable in the length but I cut some oddly shaped layers (i have curls) and its visible unless its in a hairstyle.
Good thing is my hair is in a hairstyle or up in a bun most of the time around my parents. But I still need to be careful. (I know some of you will encourage me to just come clean to my parents, but I'm in a very toxic household and I just can't do that, I do see where your coming from though)
I did a hair growth spell yesterday. I know that'll work. But I was wondering if there were any other spells i could do? I essentailly used some protective things like salt, black pepper and cloves to block anything hurting my hair and used cinnamoon and ginger and a small piece of my hair to stimulate fast growth in my hair. As a begineer witch I'm doing a spell that's results are very mundane, (most of my spells are energetic so their easier to beleive in). I'm trying my best to believe in this spell and I'm believing that it works.
I was hoping if anybody has any advice if they've been in a similiar situation before? Also any ideas for spells that will grow my hair extra faster, and also spells that will some how help or boost me in hiding the weird layers from my parents.

๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ Moon Rituals Amazing things happen and I just accept them as sacred.
As I prepared for my hunter's moon ceremony tonight I heard the rain coming down and it did not alarm me, I continued to prepare.
As I lit the candle and said my blessings and sang my ancient moon song I heard the rain cease. I took my leave of the altar to go outside at the correct time to welcome the full moon and partake in it's blessings and dance naked under it's light under the giant oak tree. As I entered the outside I could hear things dripping from the rain that had just ended and I looked up and the moon in full radiance beamed through the clouds and the clouds gave way to her so I could sing and dance naked under the full moon and make my spells and do my blessings.
When I was done and I looked at the moon one more time before I went inside I felt a gust of wind so I retreated inside and as soon as I closed the door the rain was coming down once again and no moon could be seen. Marveling at this occurrence I went back outside and stayed under the awning and looked into the darkness and the rain waned to a light drizzle after about 10 minutes and an owl called out. I answered and we talked for several minutes and then they went silent and went gliding silently over me as once again the moon peaked out from beneath the clouds and I could see the owl in it's full magnificence passing overhead me.
Have a good Samhain.

๐ต๐ธ ๐๏ธ Holidays Halloween and Witches for a Kid
My daughter is six years old. She loves the idea of Halloween and witches is being mean and scary. I would love to introduce to her the amazing history of witches as independent women who understood herbs and took care of their communities. Do you have any resources to recommend to share with her in terms of books, videos, songs, etc.?
(In case it helps, we are Americans of Western European descent. We are learning how to solstices and equinoxes and connecting our love of nature and social justice with spirituality. Resources for me to learn more would be great too.)
edit: Our community has a fun and meaningful Dรญa de Los Muertos celebration that we attend each year.
Thank you in advance :)
