Question First spell - how to dispose of items used?

Post image
30 Upvotes

Hello,

I just performed my first spell - admittedly this from a banishing spell kit I bought from a local witchcraft store - and I didn’t think to ask how to dispose of the items left behind.

I hope I performed it correctly. I have a feeling I didn’t close correctly. Although I may be an amateur I do not take this lightly. I think witchcraft is to be treated with respect.

Thank you.

Spells What happened to the chair I sat on right after I did my first protection spell

I’ve been feeling so depressed and so drained. We did some readings with another witch friend and decided it could be someone or something messing with me. So I did a simple protection spell jar (my first ever spell) and said affirmations and made my intention to protect me& my family& my energy.

5 minutes later my friend sat on the same chair I did while doing the spell and almost injured herself because of what you see on the picture.

This is just too much to be a coincidence for me. I need advice, a lot of it.

Question Understanding witchcraft

HIII!

Lately, I've been seeing a lot of things of witches and witchcraft. It's not necessarily new to me, as people from where I live (Muslim country, but I'm not a believer) believe in certain forms of it and use it (divination the most), and I've seen a witch or two in my life. But never before has the concept been so attractive to me. Very recently, I find myself genuinely interested in actually understanding it and if possible, working with it.

I've consumed content on witchcraft on different platforms, but here is what things got difficult for me: the more I search, the more puzzled I become. Often times, the videos and explanations leave me with more questions than answers. So I decided to just circle back to the starting point and try to build a solid foundation, if I'm to continue down this path.

My question starts with what magic and witchcraft truly is? Everyone seems to have a different explanation for it and I don't know who to listen to. I saw a video of a witch giving beginner tips and they said: when I started, I felt magic deeply. What does it mean to feel magic? Is it a sort of talent, or a skill you can build? Also, what sources do you recommend for actually studying witchcraft?

I apologise if my questions sound dumb, truly—but I'm really lost here. I do hope I posted this the right place?

Question Previous Homeowners Grew Datura, what now?

Title kinda explains it. Aside from being suspect number 1 if nightshade ever is found in a crime, what else can I do with it? I’d love to make a small vial of nightshade, but… well it’s deadly. I also have wild eastern nightshade berries growing around the house too!

Or if this isn’t a good place to post, where would be?

Hello! Last night I had done my first cord-cutting spell. My mom has practiced for about 20-25 years so I got a lot of my information from her and her books that she has, but wanted to see what other people thought of how it went. I did this on my recent ex who I have extremely strong emotional attachments to, but decided I just needed to be done with him.
Anyways, while I was watching the candles the whole time I believed it would be his flame to take the cord out. (I know I’ve seen people say you should physically cut the cord, but I liked the idea of setting the string as our relationship and watching it burn on its own.) But as his flame reached the cord his candle solidified the string into itself with the melted wax, refusing to burn. But mine slowly reached the string and immediately took the whole thing out. I even watched my flame bend to reach the string while his stood straight up. I pretty much gathered what I needed to from the visuals, but wanted to see what other people thought to see if I’m on the right idea lol. Also pulled The Fool and Eight of Swords from my tarot deck during the spell. The string also fell onto his side at the end and burned for a good 5-10 minutes🥲

Question What to do with ex best friends hair.

Ok, so for context. I was best friends with someone for 6 years. Like we both genuinely believed we were soulmates. We were inseparable. We are also both witches. About a year ago, they shaved their head. I helped, and I kept their hair !!with their consent. It was their idea!! I wire wrapped it with love and care and hung it on my wall next to my bed. Unfortunately, we had a massive falling out, and I had to cut things off with them. It was devastating. I was devastated. I grieved for months, and I think im finally done grieving. I just cut most of my hair off, which they often helped me dye to finally remove any trace of them from me. But I still have their hair, and I dont know what to do with it. I would return it to them, but I'm no contact with them and don't necessarily think it would be safe to see them. I've had dreams of them cursing me. I need to know what to do with their hair. Throwing it away feels deeply wrong to me, but if people think it would be the best idea, I'll do it. I just need it to be gone and to release the last of our connection. I will listen to any ideas or advice. Thank you so much. I dont really know how to flair this. I hope I chose the right one.

Tips, Tricks, & Ideas Datura spellwork

I’ve spotted a lot of datura in my neighborhood lately and felt called to take some of its seeds.

I wouldn’t dare use it in any sort of tea but wondering if anyone has used it in their practice. I’m guessing it could be used for protection spells but open to suggestions!

Discussion Favorite Shops, Items, or Collections on Etsy or elsewhere?

Hey there! I am looking for recommendations on any shops, listings, or even collections on Etsy (or some other online shop). Are you all also doing some sort of vetting for sustainability, no-harm sourcing, no-ai, and natural where possible? -and- why do you like buying from them?

Bonus points if purchasing from that person or business means supporting another witch, a minority group, or a non-billionaire where possible.

I'm asking about shopping more broadly; what are you looking for and where do you go? I don't need any help with a specific item or category of items, dealer's choice.

Question Post protection spell

I recently traveled abroad and did a protection spell before I left. It worked and I had the most amazing time!! Just got back home and I’m not sure how to dispose of the leftovers- or if I should dispose at all? I want to remain respectful as everything I asked for was granted.

Spells Warding My Name Under the Taurus Full Moon 🖤

Post image
24 Upvotes

My first time warding my name! Here is everything I used and their purpose, as well as the steps I took. I recommend customizing the herbs for your specific intention!

Ingredients:
- Dragon's blood incense
- Bowl for burning (cauldron)
- Plate for spell to live on
- Candleholder
- White, Green, & Purple candle
- Black salt: Protection
- Rice: Abundance
- Basil: Luck
- Clove: Capture negative energy
- Turmeric: Courage, strength, abundance, prosperity, success
- Hibiscus: Passion
- Ginger: Power, prosperity
- Catnip: Alluring power
- Damiana: Alluring power
- Cinnamon: Speed up the spell
- Mugwort: Spellwork boost
- Coffee Grounds: Make the spell extra potent
- Fame & Fortune conjure oil

Steps:

  1. Cleanse self & tools with Dragon's Blood incense
  2. Make protective circle with black salt on plate
  3. In middle of circle, place rice in center
  4. Make hole in rice to make space for candles
  5. Place all herbs on rice
  6. Pour conjure oil over herbs and put some on body
  7. Gather white candle for protection, purple for dark feminine beauty, and green for financial abundance
  8. Put white candle lit into candle holder above the other two so it "watches over" the others
  9. Place lit purple & green candles inside the ingredients (heat up bottom to stick it to platter)
  10. Write petition and fold it toward self three times
  11. Whenever someone says my name, whether positive or negative, I want that energy to (insert intention here)
  12. Seal it with a kiss
  13. Burn petition with all the candles, white one first
  14. Put it in larger bowl (cauldron) so it can burn

Hi! So I’m wrapping up a release and banish and reclaiming spell for the hunter’s moon and the current astrological phenomena currently.

I noticed my incense stick doing this weird thing that has NEVER happened to me before whenever I used the sticks from this pack.

Can anyone help me out?

P.s: it stopped burning but is still holding these hair-like strands.

Question Correct Spell Layering?

I performed some spells on my ex. I started with a third-party removal spell because I feel like he lets his friends and his mother influence his decisions about our relationship.
After that, I performed an Healing Spell for our connection. While the candles were melting, the wax formed a shape that looked like a person with arms and a very clearly definded that it‘s a men.
Then I performed a communication spell. At the end, there was only a very small, thin ring of wax left from the large candle.

A few days before I performed these rituals, he made his Instagram profile public. (I had removed him from my Instagram a few weeks earlier.) Two hours after my ritual, he hid his stories from me, even though he hadn’t posted any stories. I could no longer see his highlights with my main account. That‘s how I noticed it.

Did I do something wrong, or do I just need to wait for the spell to fully unfold? (I take protection very serious before I do any of my spells!)

Resources App recommendations?

Does anyone have a good app that’s free that they find helpful? I’ve tried a few (Witchcore & Wicca) and I can’t seem to find just what I’m looking for while still being free. I’m mostly looking for a calendar to help me with significant events (ADHD and busy lifestyle makes me forgetful), crystal guide, and help with tarot. Thanks!

Question Too fatigued to keep up with my practice. Any advice?

I have chronic health issues and every once in a while I’ll be in a bad flare that drains me for months on end. I mean I’ll do a few chores or run one errand and then I’m bed bound with fatigue and brain fog for the rest of the day. I can hardly read and process information like this. It’s terrible.

Naturally this makes spellwork feel impossible in this state. I haven’t felt like I’m able to really sit and do any rituals that I’ve wanted to in so long because focusing long enough to even plan a spell is draining enough as is. And I feel like trying to push through it would just weaken results because it’s hard to direct energy when you feel this unwell.

Does anyone else with chronic fatigue have suggestions? Maybe small ways I can feel like I’m doing something without having to craft an elaborate ritual? I miss doing spellwork (and genuinely all other hobbies in general) but I can’t fight my body.

Question Looking for a youtuber

I was looking for that youtuber who was kinda small popular in 2015-2017, very very pretty, blonde, slim, young (20 years more or less), elf ears... and she claimed to be pagan (if I'm not wrong). She had a collection of rocks (not crystals) that she used for everything: deodorant, shaving, cleaning... She talked about witchy stuff, mythology (trolls, fairies... she mostly loved trolls) and nature. IMPORTANT: She claimed to have an alter ego who was a boy, he was handsome too. It was her in a fake beard painted on her face, he was too sexy haha

The content was similar to Solitude of Alanna (the content creator from Spain), very similar but Alanna was just more serious and the one I am looking for was a bit crazy. It's possible that she spoke Spanish (Latina maybe?)... PLEASE HELP! I really want to know if she still doing content.

Tips, Tricks, & Ideas Things i do as a thrifty witch

Hey everyone, just wanted to share some little things i do that are easy and inexpensive! Hope this helps :)

  1. Keeping the ribbons that come on new clothes! They come in a range of colours, they're pretty and great for whatever you may use ribbon for in your practice!

  2. I dry out flowers people have bought for me! I just hang them upside down for a few weeks (or more) and there you go. I also save eggshells from cooking then crush them up into a jar, and we have wild mint near my garden so i take that and dry it out too!

  3. These bottles are from old alcohol bottles (found them in recycling) i cleaned them, removed labels and now i have 2 pretty bottles!

  4. I think everyone may do this but i save ALL of these little pouches, they usually come from small shops etc

  5. And to represent my deities i have a printed out photo in a little picture frame i got for like £1.50 in a charity shop,

Discussion Partner thinks witchcraft is kinda dumb

Anyone have any advice for when your partner thinks you starting witch craft is like "dumb"/silly? Not like a full hatred or full on i think its stupid and therefore your stupid kind of thing, but enough to make me feel kind of shy and not want to even bother anymore. Even though I really do want to still practice witchcraft.

DIY & Crafts I Made A Stang For Spells and To Hallow The Compass

Post image
39 Upvotes

Was walking in the woods by my house earlier today to release a spell into the stream, and I found this stick in the ground and thought it would be perfect to make into a Stang, especially with the esbat and Smahain coming soon.

I carved off most of the bark, wrapped cloth from an old shirt around the handle which further binds me to the Stang, and there were three holes made by worms that I saw as representing the teinity and therefore the divinity of this branch, that I filled with Basil, Parsley, and Rosemary and sealed with grains.

I then anointed the Stang with water from the last full moon and blew cannabis smoke over it while proclaiming its purpose. I'm really proud of this, I feel like a real witch and not just some kid playing eith candles and crystals. Have a blessed sabbath and esbat everyone! ✨️
