Once upon a time, they were Penn State teammates. Now, they both shine as PSU alumni.

I think the roster as a whole is a lot better when your QB is at a minimum as mobile as Sean Clifford.

My case study is Nick Singleton. In 2023 and 2024 with Drew Allar he had 3 total games each season (MSU in 2023 and WVU and Big Ten Championship in 2024) where he was rushed for over 100 yards against a P4 defense.

With Clifford in 2022 as a freshman fighting for carries in a crowded rb room to start the season? 3 times going over 120 yards.

I think when a guy like Pribula or McSorley where you have a legit rushing threat causes the split hesitation for a half second by a linebacker/safety that allows that running back to get to the second level and break off a huge play. I think if Rocco had the mobility of even Clifford, you'd see the raw talent of guys like Peoples and Martin Jr. really be on display.

That type of performance feeds into recruiting more talented RBs, that type of recruiting leads to wins, those wins lead to recruiting better lineman and you build the pipeline. I think Franklin tried this but ended up getting so burnt by whiffing on Roberson, Bowens, Johnson Jr in the 20's and it spooked him into putting more emphasis on big arm instead of mobility to get explosive plays and it was a mistake.

It seems like way more things need to go right when you rely on a QB with less than Clifford mobility (see Allar: he had a good line, great TEs, those receivers performed well on other rosters, multiple established OCs, top running backs and it just seemed like nothing could get going). And even then, I think this line is okay enough, the play calling is good, receivers seem very talented. I find myself wondering if we had a Pribula-esque QB where you sacrifice the arm talent to open up more running lanes or force mismatches with your big TEs it erases a lot of mistakes.

Maybe Manske is the guy? They claim he's more mobile. But yeah, rant over. Thoughts?

I have two tickets in NC row 16 seats 2/4 with chair backs and lot 38 parking available for Saturday. I’d rather these get used then wasted since I can’t make this weekend. Willing to make a deal

Penn State is 2-0 in games that won't matter! But at least they showed up and played good games against St. Bonaventure and Drexel on the road.

Hi all, heading up to the Penn State v Purdue game this weekend and got two parking spots in Lot 34 for tailgating. We have an AirBnb close by and with it being a 4:15pm kick and most likely going to the bars afterwards would we be able to leave our cars overnight and pick-up in the morning?

Penn State is now 4-3 in ranked wins, including againat two Top-Ten opponents. They move to 7-3 in conference play and 15-5 overall.

I thought I’d ask this here.. as a person from the west coast, I was thinking about this — so please excuse my lack of local PA geography.

… with Cignetti and Chesney having been so physically close to Penn state, did their agents reach out before taking the Indiana and ucla jobs? Because in essence at the time they took those jobs, Penn st would’ve been “the hot” location.

Thoughts?

Hey everyone! We’re bringing the family up from Virginia for the game on Halloween. Just curious if anyone else is bringing their kids and planning on having them dress up? Also, does anyone know if tailgaters will be handing out candy or if there will be activities going on around the stadium for the kids? Trying to see if there’s anything planned. Thanks in advance!

Lions 247 did an interview with 247s national analyst and it was excellent. Two things that stood out:

1. Dohn mentioned that by playing in a bowl game last year PSU allowed their coaches that were departing an extra 30 days to recruit players off the roster. Another Pat Kraft masterclass.

2. Dohn, with regard to, Kraft, “I’m blown away that he’s still there and I’ll leave it at that”.

On a somewhat unrelated note, apparently Crumbl Cookie is closing 50 stores.

Hey everyone,

Been a season ticket holder since 2011 and am an alumni, thought the intro was necessary. Doing something I've never done before and renting an RV from cruise America. Bought an ORV pass. Just some general question on what the vibes are in this lot. Does and don'ts and if we'll be looked down upon for renting an RV. Thank in advance!

First time game attendee here

I bought a parking pass for lot 34. We aren’t interested in tailgating or any pre-game activities… just want to make sure we get to our seats on time :)

What would be the absolute latest safest time to arrive? I am coming from the Wilkes-Barre area so I’m trying to plan this as best as I can where I give us enough time but not too much. :)

Thank you!!! :)

James Franklin just finds ways to win games, sign of a great coach. We moved on too soon. SMH

Yesterday, I posted a link to former PSU linebacker Jason Cabinda's film breakdown on the run game struggles. Y'all didn't think I'd leave you hanging, did you? This morning, Jason took a look at the defensive side of the ball, too.

Remember, when he was on the roster, Penn State allowed the fewest yards in the country (2014). He wants to see them get back to form. I hope y'all enjoy, we worked hard on this one. Appreciate you!

Hey everyone! As a Penn State student and FB fan, I’ve always thought taking pictures is one of the best parts of game day events. When you go to things like tailgates and other game-day events, how do you handle getting photos?

If you’re willing, feel free to answer any of these in the comments or fill out the attached teams form - I'm interested to see everyones thoughts!

1. What was the last game-day event where you wanted photos?
2. How did you get photos at that event? Examples: took them yourself, asked a friend, asked a stranger, used someone else’s photos later, hired someone, didn’t end up getting any, etc.
3. Were you happy with the photos you ended up with? Why or why not?
4. What usually makes getting good photos at events easy or difficult?
5. Have you ever paid for photos before, like graduation, family photos, senior photos, formal photos, or event photos?
6. Are there certain Penn State events where photos matter more to you?
7.  If you could change one thing about how photos are taken or shared at Penn State events, what would it be?

Thanks guys!

Former PSU linebacker Jason Cabinda broke down Penn State's run game this week. Thought this might be a good place to share. I helped work on it; appreciate anyone who taps in

A bowl is the goal, and we can achieve it! Bill Belixheck didn’t win a superbowl until his second year in New England, Matt Cambell can win a college bowl in year 1!!!

I’ve been watching some NCAAF stuff, and it really dawned on me how bad this team is. I was kinda hyped heading into the season with the fact the team had some vets and the schedule was favorable.

This has been so bad I honestly don’t know where it goes from here.

There are Programs who were once solid who have dwindled, and I feel like that really could be PSU

Not even trying to doom Post, but of all seasons to be favorable it should’ve been this one

It's interesting that mid-year firings still happen after last year. It also will be interesting to see how Maryland deals with it, and whether being the first opening gives it an advantage. Even as to available coaches, like Brian Kelly, you think most would want to see what is coming open before jumping on the earliest opening.
